Pop singer Lady Gaga (aka Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, born March 28, 1986) rules when it comes to wacky hairstyles, recently stepping out in a purple/pink/blonde ‘do.
Even though I don’t always understand what she’s trying to do with her looks, I give her snaps for originality and risk taking.
Truth be told, this hair poll was the first to leave me at a loss for words (there’s no easy way to describe hairstyle numero uno). She’s not exactly a “long with loose waves” kinda gal, but I like that about her.
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

Number 4 and 9 all the way!!! That’s when she looks normal. Other times, theatres wouldn’t even do hairstyles like that… umm. yeah
Lauren says
I just -love- her hair bows. One of my friends has super long hair and one night I gave her a hair bow a la Lady GaGa – PRICELESS! lol
Catherine says
I’m with you, Karen – gotta give the girl props for wearing the craziest looks with so much confidence. =)

None of the above.
I don’t get her. At all. Maybe I’m too old. Nah – I just don’t get her, but I don’t care.

What’s interesting is how very aware she is… Lady Gaga recently said that although she’ll always find something outrageous to do, she plans to make the platinum bob (and occasional hair bow) her signature.

Sorry – I guess I’m not up on Lady GaGa – what is she aware of?
Kristen says
I like her best with long blond hair and blunt bangs, like picture #2, only without the lavender section. The buttonhead and hairbow are so wacky, you’ve gotta love them!

I think Hairstyle 1 is supposed to be a big button. But then again, Lady Gaga always keeps me guessing.

I’m another one in the “I totally don’t get her” camp.
She’s one of those media figures that I’m not a huge fan of because she’s just so ridiculous. She was on a talk show over here not so long ago and sat there the whole time with a tea cup and saucer. I think I’m missing the joke or something.
I probably sounn really old, but what happened to the days when people got famous for their talent alone? I’m not saying she can’t sing, but I’ve spoken more about how insane she looks than how good her music is.

Button head ftw. When it comes to GaGa, she’s so unusual (tm Cyndi Lauper) and I like it. And I give her props for being very much a “self-made woman”– she isn’t a studio generated popster, she’s very much in charge of her image. Good for her.

You could’ve told me that #4 was really Christina Aguilera & I would’ve believed you. That hairstyle is very “Little House on the Prairie” in Lady Gaga’s world. LOL 🙂

number one is a hair button 🙂
i love lady gaga shes amazing
Christina says
Bisbee — sorry, I wasn’t clear. I mean that she’s very aware of the media and how she’s portrayed. She works it to her advantage.
Beth — she actually just admitted in an interview why she carried the teacup everywhere (you can read about it here if you’re interested: http://www.dishiness.com/2009/08/11/make-way-for-the-teacup/).

I kind of wrote Lady Gaga off at first because I chalked her up to being just another mindless pop icon. I’m not a fan of the genre. But in time I’ve realized that she’s insanely talented and really very smart. The girl can play piano like nobody’s business and she has really strong vocal talents. I love that she has fun with her look and designs her own outfits (or costumes, if you will). She’s having a ball with this fame thing and she doesn’t take herself seriously at all. She reminds me of the pop icons I grew up on when I still liked pop music, such as Cyndi Lauper and 80s Madonna.

Funny you should mention Lady Gaga – she just played a gig in Manila last night, and this picture of her at the airport was on the front page of our paper this morning. Loving the “loose waves” on her in this one!

Maybe it’s her album cover, but 2 says Lady Gaga to me. Or Debbie Gibson circa 1989 LOL

The round plate thingy is actually a button hair hat. Hahahaha.

I LOVE lady GAGA. She’s so inspiring to look at. Her looks can be kinda ‘out there’ sometimes but for the most part I think she has a well balances kind of quirkiness to her style.

The bow is my personal fav, but I do love the way her hair looks in the Pokerface vid! Super straight and almost white blonde!
She’s such an awesome showman(showwoman?), I don’t think people always “get” her style, or that it’s more like constant performance art! She’s a master though!
Tavia says
I voted for no 6, Lady Gaga with long and blonde with a hair bow on top. It’s totally her style. She is often seen like this, but I can’t say that I’m a fan:)

What I think I admire most about her is that she tries new things fearlessly… and while we may not all follow suit, it does open the door for us to be more creative than we might normally be in our clothes, makeup, and hair.
