Every week it gets harder and harder to sympathize with Don Draper, Mad Men’s most eligible self-loathing bachelor (seriously, Don, forgetting to pick up your kids? Not cool!), but I gotta say, Jon Hamm, the actor who plays Don, sure is easy on the eyes.
Born March 19, 1971 in St. Louis, Missouri, Jonathan Daniel Hamm started acting in high school, ironically playing Judas in the musical, Godspell. Where he found the time for acting (he was also on the football, baseball and swim teams) is a mystery, but it’s a good thing he did.
After college, but before moving to Los Angeles in 1996 to pursue an acting career, Jon returned to his high school in Missouri to teach drama (one of his students was a young Ellie Kemper, now an actress on The Office).
But that didn’t last long. He still had the acting bug, so he left Missouri and moved to Tinseltown.
Stardom didn’t come quick, though. He waited tables, getting occasional work on TV shows until his big break came in 2007.
Hello, Don! 🙂

How does this man not have an Emmy yet???? Last weekend’s episode should rectify that for next year’s awards. He covered so many emotions and personalities in one episode, some far from pretty, some making you really feel for him, and hit every one of them out of the park.
All that talent, and he’s hot as hell!
~swoon~

Didja know he’s starring in a new movie directed by Ben Affleck called The Town? I can’t wait to see it!
Heidi says
Yes, I saw some hilarious photos making the rounds of him and Affleck goofing around during promotional tours. Love that he plays this intense tortured soul and yet seems to be so funny in real life. His times hosting Saturday Night Live have been great.

I bet it was such a chore to search for photos of him for this post! 😉
Karen says
LOL… yeah, it was really stressful. 😉

Don Draper 🙂 I voted for #4
Elle says
Helloooooo Draper. 🙂 Thanks for the eye candy Karen!
Kim says
It was a tough call but I had to go with #4. Incidentally, Jon and I share a birthday – same day and year. That’s kinda cool. 🙂 The Town is getting good reviews too; it’s definitely on my must-see list.

Ok, this is where I get to say that I once met Jon Hamm! I sat at the table next to him in a restaurant last year and introduced myself on the way out. It was very hard to A. keep composure B. not spontaneously kiss him. C. grab a piece of his hair and run off to try and put a love spell on him.
And yes, he is as handsome in person as he is on screen. And omg, hearing that voice was almost as good as seeing him. Swoon.
