Today my Bay Area blogging buddy Marisol of A Dirty Martini Kind of Girl shares her new favorite budget beauty treasure, got2b Fat-Tastic Mousse.
Why do we always want what we can’t have?Â
Even though I’ve gotten compliments on my curly hair, I’ve spent a lot of time and money on products to make it straight. Typically, I’ll use a ceramic flat iron, but I’m never completely happy with the volume I get.
It was on one of my random walks through the beauty aisles at Walgreens that something yellow and pretty caught my eye.
Got2b Fat-Tastic ($5), a thickening, plumping mousse infused with collagen, promises to make your hair feel thicker, denser, and full of body and life. Got2b claims their collagen also adds elasticity for overall stronger, luscious hair that holds styles all day long. Now tell me, what girl doesn’t want that? Â
Because I have thin hair, the flat iron works well, but then I spend a lot of time teasing and using hair spray to also give it volume.
That’s why I’ve been so happy with got2b Fat-Tastic Mousse.
How I use it
- After getting out of the shower, I towel dry my hair and apply a leave-in conditioner to the ends.Â
- Then, I apply a quarter-size dollop of the product, distributing it and concentrating on the roots.Â
- Using a wide-tooth comb, I distribute the product as evenly as possible throughout my hair.
- I flip my hair over, and using my fingers as a comb, start to blow dry.
- Once it’s about halfway dry, I section it into three parts (top, middle and bottom), and begin blow drying with a paddle brush.
- When the bottom and middle sections are mostly dry, I concentrate on blow drying the top with a round boar bristle brush.
I know it sounds like a lot of steps, but I have it down to 20 minutes, tops.Â
The tools!
This much goes a long way…
The results
Straight hair with tons of volume (and it does feel thicker too)!
Since discovering Fat-Tastic, I haven’t even touched my flat iron. Well … maybe just to depot my MAC eye shadows, but that’s a totally different story. 🙂
Also, I’ve been using this for about two months so far and haven’t noticed any buildup. I should point out that it has a typical hair product scent to it but doesn’t leave my hair feeling crunchy or sticky like some other mousse products.
This was my first got2b brand purchase, but it won’t be my last — not based on my experience with Fat-Tastic.
You can find the line at most drugstores, and Fat-Tastic runs about $4.99.
What a steal!Â
The company also sells a non-aerosol hairspray (same price) that claims to deliver the same results, but I haven’t given it a try yet. For now, I’ve found a product that works for me and makes my hair feel AND look like I’ve always wanted it to.Â

She became a full-blown makeup addict in 2004, when she paid four times the retail price for a pan of MAC Pleasureflush Mineralize Skinfinish. And, nope, she doesn’t feel guilty about it at all. 🙂

Did you know göt means “ass” in Turkish? :)))) this product would never sell in Turkey haha 🙂
Karen says
Interesting. It’s a drugstore brand here in the US… I guess they weren’t planning on expanding out to Turkey!
kumru says
don’t think so, but turns out that it is known in Turkey, among cosmetic bloggers like you 😉

I have always wondered about this stuff. Does it leave you hair greasy at all? I have kinda thin blonde hair so any ammoiunt of grease shows alot!
Marisol says
I haven’t notice any issues with it. If you do get it, you would have to play around with how much product you use. A quarter size works for me and I have shoulder length hair.
