** THE GIVEAWAY IS CLOSED **
This giveaway is closed, and the winner has been contacted (CONGRATULATIONS, NICOLE!!!), but check back next Saturday for another giveaway.
“Mrow!”
“Yes, buddy. I’ll make your food.”
“Mrrrrrrrrow!!”
“OK, buddy. Hang in there. Mommy just needs to finish feeding Connor.”
“MEEEEEOWWW!!!”
“Buddy. Please, you have to be patient. Connor needs food too.”
Suddenly Tabs takes off like a rocket down the hall and straight down the stairs at top speed, his tabby claws digging noisily into the carpet. No longer able to see him, I can still hear him tearing sh*t up as he runs circuits around the living room, leaping off of the furniture in a hunger-fueled rage.
“Tabs, what are you doing!?” I shout. “Why are you being so crazy right now?”
*Sigh!* This is how my mornings are right now, LOL! Tabs is very patient around Connor as long as it doesn’t interfere with his schedule for lurvies or gravy. 🙂
Rise and shine, morning glory. Happy Caturday. How was your night?
My nights sort of blur into my days right now. That’s the phase we’re in over here. Connor Claire is now just about two weeks old, and she’s doing her baby thing. Every once in a while she’ll sleep a block of four hours at a time, but it’s usually between two and three hours at a time, so either El Hub or I will get up to feed her, burp her, probably also change her, and then try to get her to go back to sleep, which is sometimes easier said than done.
It’s an adventure, LOL!

If something is limited edition I am WAY more likely to buy it. LE is definitely by Achilles heel.

Unfortunately the black liner ringed around eyes and the frosty white eyeshadow was the makeup when I was in school haha…even worse I saw at my reunion some are still wearing it…I feel so sad they’re missing a whole world LOL ?

I’m glad your household is settling into a rhythm.. even if that rhythm is sometimes “Kitten Rage Death Metal: The Running Cat”. I hope you and bbygrrl get into a sleep schedule soon.

I’m not necessarily afraid of heights, but I don’t really enjoy them either.

I’m pretty sure the last thing I cooked was lasagna. However, that was a few days ago and the last thing I ate because I was tired of lasagna was chipotle haha
Ally says
Right now, I’m obsessed with Too Faced cosmetics and finding a product that will remove my blackheads (got any suggestions???)

I prefer permanent products. I hate falling in love with something I can’t repurchase.
Paulina says
My lucky charm is a butterfly tattoo on my wrist. I usually wear a delicate silver bracelet with a matching butterfly and I like the way they look together. I love butterfly designs and these two things are my favorite lucky charms.
Jennifer Pham says
I don’t know what I prefer using between limited edition or permanent products, but usually when I’m makeup shopping I prioritize limited edition!
Brittany says
I am also addicted to buying LE items, which I both love and hate. What if I love them and then can never repurchase them?!
LindaLibraLoca says
I am not afraid of heights, but most of the women in my family are. My mother cant even watch it on TV without getting all sweaty palms.
Two to three hours is our rhythm around here as well, day or night, but hang in there, even if it doesn’t feel that way, it will get longer and longer!
Tina says
I want to try out the Memebox Tint My Brows but on the fence!!!!!

Brown lipstick was popular when I graduated high school, which looked pretty hideous on all those Scandinavian complexions. All I wore was black eyeliner because I took myself too seriously.
Sienna says
dark lip liner and light lipstick was popular when i was in high school, yikes!
Andrea Vecchione says
I dislike limited edition drugstore stuff, because of the waiting game for a sale. I TRY to limit my LE purchases at full price, but at least it usually only nail polishes that aren’t too expensive to begin with… or so I tell myself. 😉
Stella says
Eeks! Hopefully your baby will start sleeping longer so you can get some rest!
Gisselle says
I do enjoy le collections. Just the the whole experience waiting it out making sure I get the items I want.

Yes, I’m afraid of heights!
Have a good week, Karen.
Laura says
I prefer permanent products. If something is limited edition, I’m afraid of loving it, and then not being able to find a dupe for it. Thus, I hardly ever get limited edition products.
Nicole Anderson says
My lucky charm is a jade bracelet my friend brought me back from over seas 11 years ago….I have never taken it off and it has grown with me starting off a clear beautiful green it now has brown veins in it I love it (:

I am terrified of heights!
Vanessa says
What makeup was popular when you graduated from high school?
color depositing tanning lotion
Nude lipgloss and smokey eyes.
Aj says
I prefer permanent products because if I truly love something enough to use it all up, I can easily repurchase it without having to resort to eBay.
Tisha says
My favorite products based on wear-longevity right now are the Mac retro matte lipsticks – the regular ones in the bullet (not the liquid lipsticks). Love that I can put them on and not worry about reapplying every couple of hours. I know they can be drying but I don’t mind that, to be honest.
And I definitely almost ALWAYS buy permanent products just because I can do a lot more research on them before actually taking the plunge and getting them. HATE being pressured into buying something within a limited period. Unless they’re Sephora Favorites sets – I tend to get a lot of those since they’re great value for money.
Sarah Duehr says
I think I prefer permanent products over limited edition. While limited edition products can be surprisingly good, they are hard to repurchase. If I find a holy grail product I’ll re-buy it several times.
Jane Spring says

Janetta says
Since I’ve been buying so many things I never get to use. I am focusing on beautiful limited edition pieces!
Carla says
Lots of black eyeliner was the trend when I graduated high school!
Lorraine says
I love LEs because they seem to take more chances with color and sparkle on them. I hate LEs because sometimes there is a lot of chasing involved just to get the product. Case in point, the YSL Boho Stone nail polishes disappeared before you could blink. Last year same story with Tom Ford’s Indigo Night and Black Jade polishes!
Kara says
I prefer permanent products as I don’t have to stress about replacing the product once I use it up!
Amoure Jones says
Happy Saturday Karen , El Hub, Connor and Mr. Tabs,
What makeup was popular when you graduated from high school?
It was this fuchsia lipstick I believe by Wet N’ Wild and everyone had one. It didn’t matter what your skintone was you couldn’t find a girl for miles that didn’t have this shade. This was well over 20 years ago so I don’t even recall the name of the lipstick.
BlackAsphodel says
Which do you prefer, limited edition or permanent products? Definitely permanent; I don’t like it when you have to scramble to buy something because you’ll never get another chance to purchase it.
Michelle says
I don’t remember what was popular in high school, but even then (20 years ago -wow!) I loved and wore red lipstick! I think it was an Avon red-tinted balm/gloss that was red without being RED.
Dawn says
I kinda hate limited edition products. I usually convince myself that I love something, buy a backup and then never finish the first one, let alone the backup!
Allison says
Limited edition products kind of frustrate me. If I love the product, well, too bad, I can’t get any more of it! I’ll confess to avoiding some purchases because of that. It’s not great, lol.
Amy says
Permanent products are way better. I’m always reluctant to actually use my limited edition items!
Christine says
Permanent. I get so upset with MAC over this (a first world problem, really). Tabs will have to wait his place in the pecking order.
Lisa Brown says
I prefer permanent products
Melissa says
i baked chocolate chip cookies.

Erik is 3 months old now and we’ve had a major regression with bedtime going from late (12:30am) to criminally late (2:30-4am). Been waking him up in the morning, getting lots of sunlight in the eyeballs and we’re sort of creeping back towards midnight slowly. Generally he sleeps good chunks once he’s finally down for the night but last night he was up 4 times between 11:30pm and 7am. Didn’t want to eat, just needed help getting back to sleep. I know around 3 months is considered a wonder week, but who knows. Babies! ? And it’s good I posted this, I thought I had a new YouTube video scheduled for today but apparently not!
Amy Z. says
I’m not a fan of most limited edition products, since I like to have the ability to repurchase something if I really like it!
Nivedita says
I am so over with matte lipstick trend. I hate the dry feeling they give me. Same reason why I don’t like MAC Retro Mattes.
On a better note, L’Oreal’s Moist Mattes are wonderful and I am obsessed!
Sarah says
I’m actually a little nervous about using up all of my MAC Archie Collection “Daddy’s Girl” lipstick… it’s just the perfect colour and applies so well… eeps, I guess I should start looking up dupes so I can calm myself? 🙂
Heather L says
I know the feeling! I end up not using my LE products because I’m afraid of them running out and being irreplaceable, so they collect dust in my vanity!
Jean says
Will you be buying Sweet Peach and/or PB&J from Too Faced? I don’t need a review because I was sold the moment I heard of them!
Maria J. says
I am afraid of heights when it’s something slow like going up on a elevator of a tall building or on an airplane, but oddly enough I love getting on rollercoasters.
Anna says
Love LE products, but it always makes me less likely to use the product.
RM says

Maria says
I’m terrified of heights. Just being on the second floor scares me!
TrippyPixie says
I hate heights. Whenever I’m downtown, I even hate leaning my head back to see how tall the skyscrapers are. Eek!
Jonirae says
I love a good LE product, but tbh, they give me anxiety!! if it’s something new, I almost stress myself out trying to figure out do I like it? do I need it? will I actually use it? can I even afford it?? will I remember to buy it before it’s gone? what if everyone likes it and it sells out before I can get it? what if I really really like it and then I use it all up and I can’t buy another one??? the horror of an HG product that I can never repurchase is just too awful! lol
BUT, if it’s, like, a LE version of a permanent product, like special packaging, or a special deluxe or travel size, or even a special shade (like a lippie or something) of a product I know I already like, then I’m ALL for it! ?
Kim Pincombe Cole says
Although I hate how dry it makes my lips, I love ColourPop lip color because it lasts all day!
Jaclyn Mercer says
My poor declawed kitten got outside today while we went grocery shopping. She was terrified. We are all a little traumatized!

I remember the classic pale blue hard candy polish being all the rage when i was in high school….Combined with the plastic ring on top, they were crazy popular. And Sunflowers fragrance! When I graduated high school, it was all about Clinique. The almost lipsticks were my jam 🙂
nat ogu says
the last thing i cooked was honey dijon salmon , i prefer le items usually because theyre elevated quality of some of my fave items i just dislike it when its only available for a few months instead of say 6 months or a year. when i was in highschool daring brows , brown lip liner and frost eyeshadow and lipgloss was popular

Whenever I google a product I end up reading one of your blog posts. The same today (Too faced Hangover primer). But today I decided to start reading your blog properly since I always end up here. Ta da, your latest post is a giveaway. What else to do then to enter? But some feesback first, I really appreciate your swatches and the work you put into your blog posts! You have a good sense of humour and a sometimes quirky style of writing that is cheerful and expresive. I see why your blog is popular.
Anyhow, Nuxe lip balm (the one in the pot) is my all time favourite for dry lips. It is the only product that has healed my lips so I use less and less of the product. I have dry lips all year round and there is only a few products I find helpful. Namely Nuxe as above, Kari Gra (spelling?), Burt’s bee and Elizabeth Arden’s traditional 8 hr cream.
Aurelie Red says
I don’t have a lucky charm because I’m not superstitious ^^
Mary W says
I am afraid of heights but really it’s more the dizziness that scares me. Babies are amazing. Each one is different. My kids did not sleep for years and never took naps. My friend has kids who nap regularly and sleep through the night. Then they will go through cycles of waking due to teething, or colds or who knows? No sleep for parents!
BJW says
What was the last thing I cooked? Does cereal count?
Kausalya says
I love buying limited edition products. Since they are LE, I buy two or three of the same product just so I never run out of it. That’s something I love and hate. I’m so scared to check my bank account these days!
Missy says
I love limited edition makeup, I love the feeling of the anticipation and the wait for it to come out so much!! It’s like my addiction!! Lol I will actually go from makeup site to the next looking for them!! Then I like to keep them n sit them around like they are decorations in my bedroom. But I also have to have the respect for those beautiful gems that are always there for us daily that we can count on. ????? Hang in there Tabs!! Your the first baby buddy!! ? You now will just have more to love with The Lil Princess!!

NFJ says
Which do you prefer, limited edition or permanent products?
Have to admit there is a sudden rush and thrill when I see the words “Limited Edition” for some new makeup item but knowing I’ll always be able to get an old faithful product is a wonderfully secure feeling. Recently found a new foundation I’m afraid won’t last and I bought four. At times the idea of not being able to get something makes me treasure it more, other times it causes panic in my soul. Honestly though, products just keep getting better and better so lately when one thing goes a better one comes after it.
Lydia B. says
I graduated from high school in 2006, but I’m not even sure if this was a product that came out around then. It might have been shortly after. I don’t even know if it was a super popular product. I mean, it did get discontinued… (What has happened to my memory?!) All I know is that I loved it. ): It was the Maybelline XXL line of mascaras. They had a bunch of different ones for various effects. It had the best primer (for my lashes). It didn’t make my eyelashes droop or make it necessary to re-curl them after applying it. And most of all, my lashes looked incredible!
Miriam M says
Green yogurt dip! Does that count as cooking? 😉
BooBooNinja says
It doesn’t matter to me if a makeup item is limited edition or permanent. By the time I finish it, I’m ready for something new. However, there is something to be said about beautiful LE packaging.
Lynn T. says
I made a sandwich the other day…I’m not much of a cook.

Afraid of heights?? Yes! You bet!! Once I had to drive over the Mackinaw bridge (between upper and lower Michigan). It was bad enough to be a passenger going over but driving was AWFUL!! I think I went about 25 mph and was sobbing by the time I was over it.

Well my favorite long lasting product has to be Este Lauder double wear foundation. My makeup has to last 12-14 hrs during a typical workweek and EL DW is perfect. The last thing I cooked was a big pot of turkey rice soup today. Yum yummm!
Sarah W says

HAPPY CATURDAY! It’s beautiful in the Bay Area. I hope you and Connor (and Tabs?!) get the chance to soak in some sun this weekend, Karen.
I myself need some overdue TLC: play around with some makeup for once, do facial and hair masks, get my brows and claws did, and uh, SHAVE bc I want to break out the shorts lol
As for this e-gift card? I received a Sephora makeover a while ago, and I can’t stop thinking about Kat Von D’s surprisingly elegant/modern Lolita (a chestnut rose) lippie that the mua used on me…I hope to receive the card so that I may purchase it 🙂

Hi Karen!
There’s a product an I’m lately in love with and it’s Avon’s new Perfectly Matte lipstick in Ruby Kiss… yes, it lasted more than 9 hrs during my graduation (well, I didn’t eat, just drink because I was nervous). What a great result!
Oh… I admit it… I’m scared of height at the 9th floor of a apt building and was so shocked by the view and this is just a “small height”. I think I couldn’t ever visit a skycraper XD jajaj
Enjoy the weekend!

Marija Jevtic says
I don’t have a lucky charm…
Irene says
I don’t like limited edition products for a ton of reasons:
A)I feel like I can’t throw it away, even after it can no longer be used. It promotes hoarder behavior and ain’t nobody got time for that. This is true of discontinued products too.
B) I find that the formula for the seasonal or limited products is often not the same as that for the permanent collection, even if they are marketed as new colors but not new formulas. For instance, bare essencuals marvelous moxie lipstick permanent collection is one of my favorite formulas, but when they do seasonal colors or colors for special sets, the formula is never the same! Even though they are still called marvelous moxie lipstick and often have the same tube. I think makeup companies know that we will buy limited edition sets even if they are sub par, especially if they are partnerships with celebrities, and I don’t like being taken advantage of.
C) like others have mentioned, it would suck to really love something that you couldn’t buy again!
I could go on, but long story short I would rather buy permanent collections but get suckered into LE stuff all the time.
Tracy Robertson says
I am wondering what a lurvie is? My favorite product for longevity is my Calvin Klein Euphoria fragrance spray. I’ve never had a scent that lasts so long!
carol clark says
i grew up in the country in a rual area and my maw maw had horseshoes hanging around one above the door in the front and now i hold that to my heart as a lucky charm so i have them all in my house

Jennifer says
I never thought I was afraid of heights until I went on a ride and realized the fear is definitely there!
Allison Daigle says
I have a weakness for limited edition products buti’m scared to love them/use them too much…it’s a complicated relationship!!
Lisa Foster says
A makeup item that was popular when I graduated from high school (so long ago my diploma is on a stone tablet) was Great Lash mascara in the bright pink tube. Strangely, people are still using that one today.
Ren says
In theory I prefer permanent products because limited edition stuff breaks my heart sometimes. My favorite palette of all time is the Tarte Aqualillies disk, which was limited edition, but I try not too use it too much because I’m so close to using up some of my favorite colors. It’s a makeup lover’s paradox: I love it so, so much, but I fear to use it because I know I can’t repurchase it.
Rachel Runyan says
Happy Saturday! Tabs will adjust. lol
I much prefer permanent products. I do buy LE products that I like, but I think they way they’re done nowdays is so stupid and is all false hype and false demand. It would be reasonable to have LE products for a certain timeframe, and let people know what it will be, then stop. I get seriously irked waiting up half the night, no new product, nap for 4 hours, and then the product is already sold out because I’m on Pacific time. (Yes, TOO FACED, and the Sweet Peach palette, I mean you this time!) I’m also seriously over MAC’s constant stream of subpar, LE collections. Most of the quality on them is crap. It also sucks to fall in love with an LE color, and you can never get it again most of the time.
Quimerula says
Nope. Not afraid of heights!
KJuliette says
I am terrified of heights! When I was abroad, I actually passed out atop a rock while exploring the Acropolis! Talk about embarrassing…I woke up shaking and then crying down by the bus because our tour guide had to carry me all the way back. Thank God I can look back and laugh now…it’s a good thing I liked waterproof mascara!
Lisa E says
I like permanent products more because the limited edition one are almost impossible to get a hold of. I have managed to get my hands on some limited edition things. I really like it when they take limited edition things and make the permanent. Yes, I’m terrified of heights. ???
Erin Ortiz says
I am terrified of heights…anything above two stories high and I’m done. I’m okay in airplanes and helicopters because they are enclosed but I freak out on the upward ride on roller coasters.
Maren says
I don’t know what makeup was popular when I graduated high school– I was kind of out of it (OK, completely out of it). But I liked dark lips (using eyeliner, ‘cuz it was hard to find actual dark lipstick) & winged eyeliner.

I just want to say that your blog is getting better and better with all the new writers. It brings out new points of view from different people with different skin types.
P.S/ I would love to have some limited products with nice packaging, but not to the point that I need to stand outside of the store waiting in line to get it 😀
Omotola says
I am definitely afraid of heights
Lisa says
I don’t mind heights at all. I prefer permanent products in case I fall in love with it. Don’t worry it WILL get better for sleeping for all of you.
Christy Peeples DuBois says
Poor Tabs, his world has been turned upside down and will never be the same. He will adjust. And he will love Connor Claire when she gets about 12-15 maybe sooner, time will tell. Kids love animals, or most do, but they are kids and they don’t realize that their version of petting the kitty by hitting it on top of the head with a toy is hurting the kitty. Therefore, my cat never cared for kids. He wasn’t mean to them but he chose to remove himself from where kids were.
Oh yes I am afraid of heights and didn’t realize this until several years ago. And without a doubt I prefer permanent, not limited edition. Hope you have a great week end.
Amy says
I love the new MAC collection!

I like well thought out limited editions, bit brands that constantly crank out collections rather than focusing on quality annoy me.

Jamie says
Made elk stew a couple days ago and it was delicious!
cel says
Sounds like you’re getting into the swing of things with Connor!
I definitely prefer permanent items. I know for a fact some companies cut on production when it’s LE because they KNOW people will still buy it, and even if it IS amazing, I can never repurchase it.
Don’t get me wrong, packaging and colors are tempting sometimes, but being outside of the USA makes it easier to resist haha.
Anna says
Aww… I hope Tabs stops shredding stuff. Juggling your needs, newborn Connor’s needs, and supermodel Tabs’ needs must be such an adustment, but you will get the hang of it. I’d come over to help out if I could!
The last thing I cooked? Chicken salad with red grapes, toasted walnuts, and a light dressing with minced rosemary and scallion. It keeps for a few days and is great for springtime.
Jennifer says
The last thing I cooked was dinner Thurs. night – Buffalo Baked Chicken. You soak chicken breasts in Buffalo sauce for a bit, then dip them in a flour mixture, then dip them in fresh Buffalo sauce, then coat with Panko, and bake.

Jen says
I am terrified of heights! I cannot even watch “height” shots on TV. I have nightmares about heights. My husband insisted I go up to the top of the Empire State Building with him–big mistake. Fortunately, I did not need EMTs nor did I scream or pass out–I just hugged the wall and got down and out as fast as I could. I did not go outside. Funny thing, I don’t like to fly (who does these days–miss the old days when it was fun)but looking out the window on a plane does not bother me.
Emily says
I love limited edition products, usually for the packaging! I’m a sucker for unique or artsy packaging!l

I usually prefer permanent products. I feel like they’ve taken more time to perfect them. Limited usually feels like they focused more on the advertising than the product. But there are a few limited products I’ll decide to splurge on.
Monica says
I try to steer clear of limited edition makeup. They’re expensive (because of extra marketing expenses) and you’ll feel bad if you love it and can’t find it again after a year. I’ll probably only buy limited edition if I’m a super fan of the person who designed it or if it’s a very very unique shade/formula. I think the only one I felt compelled to buy (but ended up not getting because it went out of stock fast, another thing that annoys me!), was the Brooke Shields MAC palette because it had old school classic MAC neutrals and I didn’t have any MAC eyeshadow at all that time so it seemed like a good deal to get the palette.
Lori Pease says
Permanent products. The hype over LE products and the craziness that happens when one tries to purchase (like website crashes) is a HUGE turnoff.

I’m not afraid of heights. Or maybe I am, but the thrill overtakes the fear.
For my 20th birthday, my family bought me a tandem sky diving experience. I was so excited and wanted to book right away. A few days later, I found out I was pregnant. Wonderful news, but I was most disappointed I couldn’t do my sky dive.
The ticket has now expired.

What’s a product you love mostly because of how long it lasts? Marc Jacobs highliners.
Do you have a lucky charm? A few: plumeria charm from my sister, a key in my bathroom to prevent sewage disasters (long story) stuff like that.
What makeup was popular when you graduated from high school? I don’t actually remember– Lancome and Prescriptive, I think. (Does Prescriptive still exist? I never hear it mentioned at all.)
Are you afraid of heights? Yes.
What’s the last thing you cooked? Pasta with jar sauce, spinach, artichoke hearts and olives.
Which do you prefer, limited edition or permanent products? No real preference. I like falling in love with permanent things, though they’re not quite as exciting in the moment.
Susan Hepburn says
I am always a sucker for limited edition products. I’m not really sure why, and I usually just use the new product a few times and then go back to my tried and true favorites. But, I keep the limited editions around like prized possessions.what can I say? I’m addicted to make-up.?

Which do you prefer, limited edition or permanent products? It’s hard to resist the limited ones, but the basics are always permanent
Deb says
Grunge was becoming the thing when I was in high school so black eyeliner and dark lipstick. Brown lipstick was a thing too…funny how things come back around. Also, I prefer permanent lines. One of my biggest makeup pet peeves is when my favorite items get discontinued so,limited edition is just a nightmare to me!
Marta says
Last thing I made was lasagna.
JackieC says
I really prefer permanent items. I have full mental breakdowns when I run out of a favorite product and I can’t find the exact same thing again. It’s a total situation!
Bonnie Clyne says
Oh my goodness, you struck a nerve with the limited edition question!!!! I despise limited edition things. Why would I want to fall in love with a product that I would no longer be able to buy?? I’m still frustrated over a nail polish color that was discontinued about 10 years ago 😉 and I miss my favorite (discontinued) concealer every single day. I realize discontinued is a bit different, but I’d think the result would be the same…disappointment. Looking forward to seeing what others think.

I made meatloaf and baked potatoes tonight. Very yummy!
Joselyn Hernandez says
The idea of limited edition products used to be more appealing to me, because it seems like a one time deal, buy now or never, but then if you really like the product and can’t get it again or it sells out quickly it can be frustrating.
I like some limited edition products that everyone is able to get because it’s highly stocked and around for a few months. As well as permenant products that you can get all the time. Kind of check out reviews and if it fits what you want. Something that you save up for or know you definitely want to get.
Rachel says
I just bought the hourglass lip crayon in nude no 6. It was a complete impulse but I’m loving it. I also just bought the Dior backstage palette. I’ve been waffling on that for a long time and I’m glad I got it. It’s gorgeous.
Karen says
•What’s a product you love mostly because of how long it lasts?
I’m a huge fan of the hourglass mineral veil primer. I’ve had mine forever. I think it just keeps going!
•Do you have a lucky charm?
Nope!
•What makeup was popular when you graduated from high school?
Glitter. Glitter everything.
•Are you afraid of heights?
Nope…just a healthy caution haha
•What’s the last thing you cooked?
That was quite a while ago – I’m deployed right now so I haven’t cooked in quite a long time – since before Christmas, I believe!
•Which do you prefer, limited edition or permanent products?
I like the appeal of limited edition products but buy more permanent ones because otherwise I end up falling in love and then it’s gone and I can never get it again!
Rebecca says
Permanent is so great because you can replace it! But LE is so great because they’re always so much more tempting… It’s a hard knock life!

I much prefer permanent things!
I don’t like the pressure-to-buy-now that comes with LE, or the fact that if you fall in love with it you can’t replace it when it runs out.
Kimm says
Heights scare me. Didn’t used to but now they do.
I graduated 1996. My 29 year reunion is actually on my due date. Bummer. But makeup that was popular was all the grungy stuff… Urban decay was huge. Dark lipstick. Eye liner. Dark mascara. Dark nails. And the rave scene… Bright colors. Ahhh… Good times in our overalls with doc martins and flight jackets and flannels. And nirvana.
Hope Conner sleeps more in the upcoming weeks! My least favorite part was the middle of the night feelings when they wouldn’t go back to sleep. Or they would fall asleep on you and then wake up as soon as you put them down. The book that helped me the most was the Happiest Baby on the Block. I have to re-buy that for this little guy. I forgot everything in it!
Oh and as much as I love the novelty of LE products, the make me mad. If I LOVE them and then they are gone… That pisses me off to no end!
Have a great weekend!

Definitely permanent and not Limited Edition. And as per your bundle of joy, Congratulations! My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for years now, maybe it’s not our time yet. Try to get some nap/or power nap while Conner is sleeping after feeding time so you will not be that exhausted, remember she’s only few weeks old and there’s long ways to go.

By the time I graduated from high school, most girls were over the turquoise/robin’s-egg-blue eyeshadow and light pink frosted lipstick of the sixties and went for a natural look, not usually wearing anything more than a transparent pink lip gloss. Nice for me, because those sixties shades didn’t flatter me at all, and they were the only colors teenage girls wore! I hated lip gloss, though. Sticky-icky! I just wore Chapstick. If I wanted to do something, I painted my nails.
Chris25 says
If I had to choose, I’d say permanent. There are few greater sorrows than using up a great LE product and knowing you won’t be able to restock (at least not in the near future).

OH, I remember those days! Tabs is being a typical older sibling. But MOM! It does get easier! Let’s see, I prefer permanent line. I don’t want to buy something and then never be able to buy it again. It’s bad enough that they discontinue products just as I find them. Limited edition just speeds that up. So I ignore those. I made Pain de mie and mandelbrot on Friday. Also made broccoli and cauliflower kugel!
Bridget says

Abby says
I thought I was afraid of heights, but I think it depends! I didn’t try out rappelling when I was in high school because I was afraid of falling to the ground. But I dived into an ocean from a maybe one or two stories high during a camping trip in college.
Limited or permanent is a very good question!! I’d have to answer with permanent. I may or may not have attachment issues and need constant supply when I want a product a lot. UNLESS it’s not beauty-related, and something like clothes or books–I’d go for limited!
Emily says
I like permanent products! As for what lasts, Pond’s Cold Cream lasts for me.
Audrey says
Hi Karen! I’m only afraid of heights if I’m standing on something unstable like a rickety ladder. I don’t have a preference between LE or permanent products- it depends on the individual product. Ning Alfrink says
I just bought the Tom Ford liquid liner and am so excited to try it. Maybe it will make me wear winged liner more often

I love limited edition collections. I enjoy getting excited about what’s coming out and then going to the store and buying it if I find that it fits with my look. I’m thankful for my old faithfuls that keep me going in between collections or get me over the hump when the current looks is not my thing but I love the summer and the fall limited editions the most!

Heather L says
I love the NARS Audacious lipsticks because of how long they last – even after a long day including eating, drinking, talking – they don’t budge. I have never found a longer lasting lip product. And they’re beautiful too! I also love Julep mascara because it lasts so well all day, no raccoon eyes – which I can’t say after a long day with most of the other mascaras I’ve tried!
I prefer permanent products. For one thing, I hate the idea of something selling out and becoming unavailable (yeah, like you MAC Cinderella and Kat Von D holiday eye palette!!!) Second, if I do get my hands on it and love it, it is so disappointing to know I won’t be able to replenish it when it runs out!

I am in the very confusing position of loving heights while being terrified by them. And I much prefer permanent collections, as I can actually budget around them. You want that fifty dollar palette? You can save a little at a time and buy it when it’s convenient. Limited edition? Cry for days or break the bank, your choice.

This is going to be your most challenging time, sleep-wise. I know I keep saying this, but, it’s because it’s true. It gets better and will be a distant memory soon. And everyone loses their cool so don’t feel bad if you accidentally holler at Tabs or El Hub or Connor or inanimate objects. 🙂
Anne-Marie says
I used to be a LE hawk but now I’m more into permanent products. This is with MAC and drugstore makeup. With high end cosmetics I’m still a sucker for LE collections, because I hardly ever buy their permanent stuff.

Abby says
If it’s a beauty product, I think I like permanent products better. If it’s a book or clothing, limited edition is awesome.

And I am in search of a good pressed powder right now…accidentally bought Neutrogena compact makeup instead of pressed powder 😀

My lucky charm is my amber necklace. I wear it all the time. I feel naked without it. The last thing I cooked was gnocchi with spinach, tomatoes and chick peas smothered with mozzarella cheese. I make it all the time, because it’s easy, delicous and my kids love it.

My new long lasting product is the Kylie Lipkit in Posie K & Koko K. I mix the 2 together for an ombre effect, Posie K on the outer lip line and Koko K in the middle of my lips. Great colors for spring and it lasts all day! It’s a matte lipstick, but the formula is great and doesn’t feel like my lips are dried out.
