Have I ever mentioned that El Hub and I never went on a honeymoon? It’s true, and our four-year anniversary is next week. He hasn’t said anything about it yet, but I think we’re a little overdue!
I would love to go on a romantic trip to Italy — not necessarily as a belated honeymoon, but just in general, ya know? I could eat and photograph my way up and down the Amalfi Coast with my best friend…and El Hub could tag along, too. 🙂
(Just kidding, babe!)
Tocca’s new Bianca ($68) fragrance put the idea in my head…
Tocca says they were inspired to create the soft floral by thoughts of teatime in Italy. The scent bears notes of bergamot, lavender, mandarin, rose, lemon, jasmine, green tea, musk and sugar; it’s light, fresh, and I’ve been wearing it almost daily for two weeks straight!
Beyond it making me want to get to know the other members of the Tocca fragrance family, isn’t the bottle lovely? And the scent smells exactly as I thought it would based on the pretty bottle.
Are you familiar with Bianca or any of the other fragrances in the Tocca line? Do you have a favorite?
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen
Eileen says
Giulietta by Tocca is another one that will make you long for strolls along the flower strewn ocean cliffs. It reminds me of my back packing days in Corsica when we’d take off our packs and lie down amidst the wild flowers to enjoy the ocean breeze and the warm Mediterranean sun. Beautiful memories and an even more beautiful fragrance.
Karen says
Hi Eileen,
Wow. That sounds so heavenly. I hope to experience that someday… but only if I have my allergy meds with me, LOL!
How long did you backpack for? Where did you go?
Eileen says
Every summer during my late teens and throughout my twenties, I used to travel through Europe with friends. We’d pick different places to explore each time. We’d spend a certain amount of time doing the standard tourist things, but then we’d head out on our own to explore the countryside. Our travels were often humorous, sometimes a bit harrowing, but always an unforgettable adventure. And, we met some of the most delightful people along the way. I think they were often bemused by our boundless golly-gee-whiz enthusiasm for everything. They seemed to delight in sharing with us the things they loved about their little corner of the world.
Karen says
How cool! I’m kinda kicking myself now for not doing something similar in my 20s (aka, the time in my life when I had substantially more energy, LOL). I bet you guys made some wonderful memories together.
Out of all the places you visited, which one’s your fave?
Michelle says
I hope you get that trip to Italy! I would almost just want to buy that perfume for the lovely bottle to sit on my countertop 🙂
Karen says
The bottle is one of my favorite things about this scent! 🙂
What perfumes have you been wearing lately?
Sabrina says
Karen – I love Tocca bottles. They are so elegant and almost vintage like. I’ve spritzed Giulietta (spelling?) and love it.
That honeymoon is way overdue! But you’re not the only one (not sure if that’s good or bad). My husband and I have been married almost 2 years and didn’t have our honeymoon yet either (b/c of school). We didn’t have a wedding either.
Hope your DH takes you somewhere wonderful!

I’ve heard raves about Giuletta. Gosh, I sense a Tocca obsession being born…
Will you guys be finishing school soon?
Glosslizard says
Mmmmm, sounds wonderful! I will have to obtain a sample of that!
Karen says
It’s so fresh and lovely. I’m wearing it right now!
Shannon says
wow, that’s such a pretty bottle! Wish I could smell it.
Karen says
Wouldn’t it be cool if there was a way to make websites scratch n’ sniff?!
lexi says
Hey Karen,
Yeah Mr. Lex and I never went on a honeymoon either. Well I was also 7 months pregnant at the time so we just rented a cabin for a long weekend after our City Hall ceremony. Happy Anniversary.
Yes, a trip to Italy was supposed to be in our future to until I discovered the aforementioned pregnancy so we are overdue as well.
I took a whiff of Bianca based on an earlier blurb you did a couple of months ago. I do want to go back for this one – I’m a sucker for scents with hidden lemon in it! You should see me go nuts over a bottle of Pinesol hahahahhaha!
Karen says
Isn’t it funny how things just sorta happen that way? Hopefully someday we’ll all make it to Italy, sigh!
amy says
Hmmm this sounds like a lovely fragrance. The bottle is pretty too and very quaint. The craving of the birds is oh so cute.

You know what I like about this bottle and the cap (besides the design)? It’s very heavy! Not exactly travel-friendly, but it definitely feels luxurious.
Rachel Taninecz says
Where did you buy yours from?
.-= Rachel Taninecz’s last blog post… Whats in the packaging =-.
Karen says
Sephora!
Rachel Taninecz says
Awesome, thanks Karen! I read the descriptions and I feel like it’s going to be hard to choose!!!

Karen says
Have fun sniffing the scents. I’m sure you’ll find something you love!
Rachel says
I wear and love Brigitte. The sephora description says:
“The intoxicating scent of the Marseilles spice market mingles with ginger, then folds in the essence of Moroccan Rose petals, blending chic, old-world European style with whimsical and exotic intrigue. Brigitte’s loveliness is deliciously textured—sweet top notes of Rhubarb and Papaya bloom into middle notes of Iris and Saffron. Her depth shines through bottom notes of Sandalwood and Musk.”
I’m loving it as my spring/summer scent instead of my usual vanilla/coconut by LaVanilla,
Karen says
That sounds beautiful. I love perfumes with rose notes, so I’ll probably love it!
Cindy (Prime Beauty) says
I loved Bianca when I snifed it at Sephora and I didn’t get it, I felt guilty b/c I bought makeup too. Why do I do that? I like to buy one new fragrance for the summer and I think this will be it. I’m going to buy it for “Cindy’s Because I Think I Should Have It” Day!

I have never smelled any of the Tocca scents, but now I want to just from reading all the comments! I LOVE the design on the cap.

I can’t believe the line isn’t more high-profile. The scents are great!
Madelynn says
I love the cap detail! :D!
Karen says
It’s gorgeous, right? I love when lines add thoughtful design touches to their fragrances.
Claudia says
I just purchased Brigitte after receiving a sample from Sephora and it is WONDERFUL! The scent is a bit of a spicy floral. Not too strong but lasts the entire work day for me. I has quickly become my new signature scent.
Karen says
That sounds really pretty!
Joey says
Karen, I’ll say it again like I said on Twitter yesterday:
You. NEED. Giulietta.
I’ll even slap some Nutella on a bottle if it’d make you buy it! =D
Karen says
LOL… yes ma’am! I will give it a spritz next time I visit my home away from home (aka Sephora).
Van says
Such a cute bottle, I love it! Next time I’m in Sephora I’ll have to give it a try! Like the other girls, I got a free sample of Tocca Giuleitta with my Sephora order back in June and I fell in love with it, but I had to convince myself that I had to wait (my order was another perfume bottle) a while til my next perfume purchase 🙁
My hubbie and I have been married for almost 3 years and we didn’t have a big fancy wedding nor a honeymoon, but last year for our 2 year anniversary we went on a cruise, which was really nice, now I want to go on a trip every anniversary, he’s not too keen on the idea, it’ll be more special every few years.
Hope you have a great weekend and a Happy 4th of July 🙂
Karen says
I’ve never been on a cruise but would love to go on one! Where did you guys go?
Van says
We went to Key West, Cozumel and Belize City 🙂
Cozumel was gorgeous, the people were so nice and friendly it was our favorite port!
You guys should look into cruise vacations, you’ll get to visit lots of fun places in one vacation 😀
Kristen says
I love Tocca fragrances!! I am currently using Giulietta and loveee it! It smells great and the bottle is so chic. I feel like I should be overlooking some cute little avenue in Italy whenever I use it 🙂 I can’t wait to try this new one
Karen says
Several gals have mentioned Guilietta… will give that one a sniff soon!
As for this scent, if subtle tea notes are your thing you’ll probably love it.
gio says
The bottle looks so pretty and the scent sounds wonderful too.

I’ve been loving Giulietta for a while now, so I’m dying to try this scent. Love Tocca fragrances, their candles are also fantastic.
Karen says
I’ll have to pick one of their candles up someday. Do they last a long time?
SDpfeiffy says
I love Touch but my generous samples are long gone. Bianca sounds intriguing!
Karen says
I have to smell that scent! A lot of women rave about it. 🙂
Gisele says
Such a gorgous bottle. I’ll have to sniff at Sephora;I’m looking for a new summer fragrance. If you get to Italy, perhaps you can jaunt over to Provence. Spring is the time for young love and honeymooners.
Karen says
I would LOVE to go there too. Have you been?
Kymberlee says
That’s a pretty bottle. I don’t think I’ve ever smelled anything from Tocca. The next time I’m in Sephora maybe I will.
My husband and I didn’t go on much of a honeymoon either. We were visiting his family in California and decided to take off for a few days by ourselves and get married in Reno.
Our 5 year anniversary is this month and we’re going to visit his family again and stay in San Francisco by ourselves for two days.
Karen says
I love the bottle too! It’s very feminine and girly, but not overly so.
Your trip out here should be fun! We’ve been having good weather lately, so hopefully it’ll stay nice when you come out here. Where in SF will you be staying? Union Square?
Kymberlee says
You know, I’m not sure. I want to stay at some place nice but not overly expensive. I don’t think that is possible, though. LOL
I know that I definitely want to go to Union Square, Fisherman’s Wharf, Ghiradelli Square, Lombard St. On the way back, we plan to hit up the outlets in Petaluma. (Can you tell I love to shop?) 🙂
If anyone has any recommendations, please let me know!
PS. Is there a flagship Sephora store or MAC Pro? Seems like I’ve seen a post about the MAC Pro store on here before but I’m not sure if it’s in SF or somewhere else.
Nina says
We havent gone either … I mean, we took a little trip but nothing in the scale of a honeymoon (whatever that is).
I requested for a sample of Tocca from one of my Sephora orders – and somehow, I lost it. Durn! I should check this out @ Sephora soon! 🙂
Karen says
Hi Nina,
You must give this a sniff soon. The cool thing is there are several Tocca scents, so if this one doesn’t work for you then there are others to choose from. In general they all sound pretty yummy!
Ster says
Hi Karen! I live just a few km from Amalfi… wonderful places, just paradise! If you want I can be your personal guide through the whole area! Don’ t forget to visit the islands Capri and Ischia too! It would definitely be the best honeymoon ever!
Karen says
Hi Ster!
That’s so sweet of you! If I ever make it out there I’ll definitely hit you up and ask you for your list of best places to eat! 🙂
Dasha says
Hey Karen!
My best friend and I went to Italy two summers ago and we rented a yacht and sailed on the Amalfi coast and it was perfection. It was sunny and we laid around drinking bubbly wine and eating really amazing pasta and even more amazing desserts and then we got a rental villa in Maiori and relaxed and hung out for a week. Literally the best vacation i’ve ever had.
We take one really good vacation every year 🙂 Next year we’re planning on going to the Philippines!
and on perfume, Tocca’s Cleopatra perfume is one of my all time faves. The scent is amazing.
Karen says
Hi Dasha,
Your Amalfi coast trip sounds AMAZING. It sounds like just what I need right now (especially the pasta and relaxing).
That’s awesome that you’re going to the Philippines next year. Do you have family there? Which part are you going to?
I will definitely put Cleopatra on my “to sniff” list!
marisol says
Haven’t ever smelled any products from this line. I do like the bottle though.
Maybe you should plan a kick ass 5 year anniversary trip/belated honeymoon. Somewhere exotic and fun.
.-= marisol’s last blog post… Haulidays =-.
Karen says
I think if you give ’em a sniff you’ll find something you like. BTW, did you ever pick up a bottle of that new Benefit scent you like?
Oh, that’s a great idea regarding the 5-year trip! Too bad I’d have to wait ’till next July to take it, LOL!
Julia says
Oooo, this makes me wonder if you ever tried a now extinct perfume oil by the Body Shop, the lemon tea fragrance. I still have a little bit of it, and people always ask what it is. And it must have been under 20 bucks. Le sigh. But now I’ll have to try this for a new summer scent! My usual go-to is Hanae Mori, but it’s a tad too strong for the warmer days!
.-= Julia’s last blog post… Figuring It Out- Defining =-.
Karen says
I think I remember sniffing and liking that scent. There are a lot of old school Body Shop items I wish they still had around — remember the Avocado Body Butter? That was good stuff.
Hanae Mori is such a pretty scent! I also love the bottle.
Ashley says
Tocca’s Cleopatra is definitely amazing… it has topnotes of grapefruit and cucumber but has a really rich base that lasts all day. I like the solid perfumes too, they’re a little more affordable!
