Before we sock it to ’em today and talk toes, here are reasons number 3,165 and 3,166 to try those Zella Live-In Capris I gushed about last week, the Lululemoon-like (but more affordable) workout pants that miraculously keep everything from jiggling around but don’t make me feel like a sausage…
“My Zella capris came in today. Life changing! :)”
— Vanessa of Beauty by Vanessa Haro“Those pants are man-attractors! I got checked out twice on my walk and that never happens, lol!”
— Kelly of Vampy Varnish
Dude, pants so magical that they’ll change your life and help you find the man (or woman) of yo’ dreams!? Seriously, what are you waiting for?
But enough about pants (even ones as good as these). Let’s talk toes. 🙂
Or rather socks. The kind of socks you might wear with workout pants (or with sweatpants on the couch while you eat Almond Roca and watch Scandal…not that I’d know anything about that).
Say “greetings!” to Thorlo’s $13 Thick Cushion Running Socks, otherwise known as THE SOCKS THAT WILL RUIN YOU FOR ALL OTHERS.
Socks?
Yes, socks. Socks don’t usually do a lot for me, but I love these so much that I feel obligated to spread the word, one pair at a time.
I’ve given them as gifts to every runner, walker, workout fiend and comfort enthusiast in my family because they’re hands down the most comfortable workout socks I’ve ever worn. Once I started running in them, I swore off working out in other socks. They’re like sock-based Chanel bags!
Thick — like really, really thick — and cushiony. They have thick, soft padding at the ball and heel, over and around the toes, and at the arch, providing extra cushioning to support your hard-working feet.
They’re moisture wicking, too, so feet stay cool and dry as you chug along.
I’ve been wearing Thorlos for years, and I’m at the point now where I’ll seriously question whether I want to go for a run at all if I don’t have a clean (or clean-ish) pair.
And they’re just as good at running errands as they are for running laps. They never chafe or rub in the wrong places. No blisters. I feel like I’m wearing heavenly pillows filled with downy fluff on my feet.
They also come in a few different colors and styles (white, blue, tennis, walking, running, hiking, crew, like that) for guys and gals. By no means are any of them flashy…but for me this is one of those cases where comfort trumps flash.
Also great if you spend a lot of time on your feet at work, have to hike across campus to get from bio chem to physics class, or if you’re a fleet-footed mom chasing kids.
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

Are those socks wool? I want to try them, but don’t do wool.

This is why I love your blog. I never know what to expect! I’m very picky about my socks. I get these super thin ones from Lady Footlocker. They’re assorted neon colors! My one requirement is no big annoying seam on the toe. It has to be a flat seam. I’ve been wanting to try those Zella Capris!

Today was basically made of running around to get a month’s worth of errands done and when I came home, my feet was literally screaming “ACHE!”. So I believe you can imagine how much this post means to me 😀 I don’t think that I could find them here but at least now I know what to look for when buying socks. And off-topic but, Karen, I really like your writing style! It’s so pleasant to read, not overwhelmingly long and yet gives all the important things. Perfect!

Lol at that picture of Tabs, cute! I’m going to try and get a pair of these socks.I brought some that look similar that are made for diabetics to cushion and be non-restrictive but they make my feet sweat so not feeling them. A good pair of socks makes a big difference in your comfort level.

I love that you are posting about running socks, too. I have a pair of Thorlo’s that I got at City Sports down in DC. They are bright orange, and probably one of the best pair of running socks I own. They have done amazing over my super long runs (11 miles has been my longest before this current half marathon coming up in about a week!). I also really love the Under Armour distance running socks, too. Not sure if they still make them but they are amazing.

If you don’t already have a Nordstrom debit or credit card, get the debit card now so you can get early access to the anniversary sale in July. They always have Zella for about 40% off. I’ve been getting them for about 4 years now and love everything Zella.

KAREN! Your personal opinions about clothing should be rewarded! LoL. I’m wearing my new Zella capri’s and I adore them. The leg kind of scrunches (I didn’t get my usual size because I didn’t want EVERYTHING to be hugged), but they are super duper comfortable. I just ordered the pants/leggings, and I can’t wait to try those out. I actually walked to my bro-in-law’s house, in this desert heat, and they were quite comfortable despite my excessive sweating. :/ Why haven’t I tried yoga pants sooner?! Thanks for the suggestions. Might have to get The Man some of these socks!
