If you’re going to yell at your TV for any reason, be it to protest the nonsense that occurs on those Bravo reunion shows (“Leave Lisa Vanderpump alone!”), or to scream “NO! DON’T DO IT!” at that one character in that movie who goes down into the basement where the killer clown is hiding, even though everybody with any common sense at all knows that’s where the killer clown is hiding, I highly recommend that you do so while wearing bronzer.
Here, I’m screaming at the movie The Stepfather while wearing the new Too Faced Bonjour Soleil Bronzing Wardrobe palette, which, by the way, does all sorts of cool sh*t.
More recent Too Faced blog-ery…
It sculpts cheeks, warms your overall complexion and highlights skin for that “I’m dancing in the middle of a Miami street in booty shorts and a crop-top” J.Lo glow.
Heck, even just holding the sassy striped package makes me feel a little better.
I really do believe in the positive power of surrounding yourself with beautiful things — even the littlest, most frivolous things like makeup.
This palette just makes smile. 🙂
Bonjour Soleil’s raison d’être is to create warm, bronzy glows and contoured looks. It’s a face palette with three powder bronzers, each one specializing in a specific task.
Chocolate Soleil, a matte bronzer with rosy undertones
Chocolate Soleil is infused with cocoa powder, which, Too Faced says, works as an antioxidant on the skin.
OK, and it also SMELLS LIKE CHOCOLATE. Like, seriously. One sniff, and I want to devour a plate of brownies.
It’s the sole matte in the palette, and I’m glad it was added. I really like mattes for contouring, and the rosy tones in this one make defining and chiseling cheekbones easy, especially if you want to maintain a natural look.
Light and medium skin tones should love Chocolate Soleil, but if you’re around my shade or darker (as you probably know by now, but just in case you don’t, I’m a MAC NC42), I think you can still work it. Just be careful how much you use, because I’ve noticed that if I go in too heavy, the rosy undertones make my skin look a little gray…
Sun Bunny, a shimmery pinkish, peachy bronzer
How cute is this!? I think it’s a tad light for me as a bronzer, so I use it more to highlight. Lighter lasses should be all good.
Great for giving all-over warmth to light and medium skin tones. Just do a light dusting all over with a big fluffy brush; then go on about your day being awesome.
Now, as a straight-up contouring shade…
I find that when I want to really carve out my cheeks, matte bronzers, or bronzers with very little shimmer in them, seem to do a better job. When I wear matte bronzers under my cheekbones, I just think they define the area better than shimmery bronzers do, which is not to say that you shouldn’t use Sun Bunny to contour… Shoot, you know how it is. In the world of makeup, do what you please. If shimmers work better for you, go for it. 🙂
Snow Bunny, a shimmery pinkish beige
Combine all four of Snow Bunny’s colors for a pinkish beige bronzy glow. I think most gals/guys will use this one as a highlighter, but pale princesses may want to use it to add all-over warmth.
Oh! Something else to try: mix Sun Bunny with Snow Bunny for your own customized bronzer/highlighter shade. I like a 50/50 mix applied on my upper cheekbones, down the bridge of my nose and on my cupid’s bow.
SUPER PRETTY!
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

Too Faced Bronzer’s give me heart-shaped googly eyes. I’d love to have all the full-sized ones so I’ll likely skip out on the palette. Sun Bunny and Pink Leopard are at the top of my list. I won Chocolate Soleil in the TF scavenger hunt recently so I’m all set there 😀
Karen says
Googly eyes…too cute, Alison!
Deanna says
I rarely wear bronzer these days, but this palette makes me feel like I should. It’s just that pretty!
Karen says
Hi Deanna!
I used to be a once-in-awhile bronzer babe, too, but now it’s like an everyday thing for me. I feel weird without it, LOL. Do you have any bronzers at all in your makeup collection?
Deanna says
A few years ago I was all about Physician’s Formula Pearls of Perfection in the shade Light Bronzer, but I stopped using it for some unknown reason. I also have the Tarte Mineral Powder bronzer, but I haven’t tried it yet, even though I’ve had it for…oh, 6 months now, I guess.
I really think the Too Faced palette would make me want to start using them, though! I just hope that the shades won’t be too dark for my fair skin.
Karen says
I do the same thing with products, how funny! I’ll be infatuated with something for months and then I’ll totally forget it. The best part is when you rediscover it. It feels like finding buried treasure. 😀
Too Faced bronzers are known for working well with fair skin. If you don’t end up with this palette, then check out their Milk Chocolate and Leopard Bronzers. Those should suit you nicely!
Deanna says
That’s very true!
I’m hoping to snag this palette this weekend, but if it looks too dark in person, I’ll go for the Milk Chocolate bronzer instead. Thanks for your help, Karen!
Karen says
You’re welcome, Deanna. Let me know which one you end up going with.
Oh, and if Milk Chocolate doesn’t work, you might want to try the new NARS Contouring Blush duo. The lightest shade, might work for you nicely.
Lauren says
I am SO lusting over this palette! My skin doesn’t tan, so this is a pretty well priced option :)! But… Do you think chocolate soleil would be alright on really light skinned girls? I just don’t want my contour to look obvious on my skin tone since i’m new to that game ha ha ha.
Karen says
Yes, although you may want to cut it with something like Milk Chocolate Soleil if you have it around, or do a 50/50 mix with one of the other shimmery shades in the palette.
Lauren says
Hmm I’m thinking I should do the paparazzi ready kit then instead, $40 and it includes a full size of the milk chocolate version :)!
Karen says
Yeah, it Milk Chocolate might work better for you.
Wenz says
Giiiiirrrrrl we all about that “I’m dancing in the middle of a Miami street in booty shorts and a crop-top” J.Lo glow, down here in the MIA *snap snap* LOL!
I was thinking it wouldn’t work for me (fellow NC42) but you may have just convinced me sigh & the packaging… double sigh from my purse!
Thanks Karen!
Karen says
Hey Wenz,
SERIOUSLY, if I would love to have that booty shorts/crop top MIA glow every second of every day, LOL!
What bronzer are you currently using now? 🙂
Wenz says
Down here esp @ the beach anything goes… locals will assume you’re vacationing LMAO!
Im trying to finish up benefit hoola since I still have some lightness left on face (was vacationing up north a few weeks ago). Then maybe Ill go back to mac matte bronzer (I think thats what its called) or see what else is out there
Karen says
I kind of love that! In a parallel universe I like to think that I live in Miami! I have tried and tried to get down with the ocean here in Nor Cal but it is too damn cold. Plus wetsuits are so oppressive, ugh.
Soooo, bronzer. Hoola is GREAT! I love it for winter too. If you haven’t already, try MAC Mineralize Natural in Give Me Sun. It’s kind of epic, and it lasts forever. If MAC every discontinued it I would freak out!
Wenz says
Will def add to my list & sample next time Im by MAC thankys!
Karen says
You’re welcome. 🙂 I hope it works out for ya!
Let says
I don’t wear bronzer, but the lighter shade of Sun Bunny looks nice!
Karen says
Hi Let,
Oh, really? It wasn’t an everyday thing for me until, oh, two or three years ago. But then I noticed what a huge difference it makes in pics and that totally changed everything. 🙂 Have you tried wearing bronzer before? I swear it’s one of those change-your-life products when you find the right one for you.
Let says
Hi Karen,
I’ve only tried wearing bronzer once– I wore the one in the Buxom Day Tripper palette. I followed the directions included in the kit + your tips in the comment section of one of your post last year. I see what you mean with the difference it makes in pics– I was like “Whoa, my face look slimmer!” Then I looked in the mirror and felt like it’s too much for me in-person…
Karen says
Hi Let,
Ahh, I know what you mean. I felt the same way when I started wearing bright eyeshadows and lipsticks. I know this might sound crazy — but hear me out! Maybe try wearing bronzer at home for a while? That way you can get used to seeing yourself in it. Maybe you’ll get comfy with wearing it after a while. You never know.
hanna says
I love the first picture of you.
Karen says
Thanks!
Natalie says
I love the look for this palette (both the outside and the inside, lol). I think I need it for summer. Also, that pic of you at the beginning of this post is hilarious! Love it.
Karen says
Thank you!
Denise says
Are you supposed to use Sun Bunny as two different shades or do you swirl both together? Or both?! 🙂
Karen says
Hi Denise,
You can do both. 🙂 Whatever you feel like!
Chelsea says
OMG, I love your animated gif! I can just hear you saying “GIRRLL…”
Lovely palette! I’m not much of a bronzer girl, but I hear Too Faced has really good ones.
Karen says
LOL…you know it!
Yeah, Too Faced has great bronzers. 🙂 Lots of amazing options for pale skin, too! Let me know if you ever need a rec.
Vanessa says
This post is so cute!!
Karen says
LOL, thank you Vanessa!
Efrain says
I need it so I hope it won’t be overpriced here in Mexico.
I have a question: If I want to use it for faking a tan, how I’ll use it? (New to bronzers, I’ve just added blushes to my routine).
Miki says
SO much lust! How’s the brush that comes with the palette?
Rhea says
Oh My Lord! Chocolate Soleil looks like the perfect bronzer. I need this in my life!
Sylirael says
I wondered about this one, since I’m always on the lookout for a not-too-dark contouring option, but I still think it might lean a little bronzy on me. Still, it looks like a super cute little selection of bronzing/highlighting options!
Danielle says
The packaging is so cute!
Kim says
I love that you’re contouring and highlighting to yell at the TV! 🙂 I was doing that recently without the bronzer and the silly character wasn’t listening to me at all. I’ll have to try *with* the bronzer next time. HAHA!
PS Did you see The Conjuring? (No, no… what are you doing? Don’t go down there… oh, my goodness, with a MATCH? That’s what you’re bringing for light?”. Too Faced would have come in very handy.
Erin says
Might be a little dark for me but it’s so nice!
Cindy says
oh!! I would like to try this!! I saw it on another person’s blog
surleen says
Hi Karen! Please respond to this question- you never respond to my questions!:( Which one of these do you recommend for overall warmth and not contouring? I’m Indian btw. Thanks!!
