I may have mentioned this once or twice before (or three times or four), but I absolutely love pink makeup. I think pink is a great way to wear subtle color, and since I’ve never met a pink eyeshadow I don’t like, I thought it would be fun to collaborate with Jen and Anna, who’ll be sharing their looks soon, and share with you one way that each of us likes to wear pink eyeshadow.
The look I’m wearing at the top is how I like to rock pink eyeshadow, and I have to thank some awesome readers for the inspiration! One reader mentioned that the Maybelline Color Tattoo 24HR Concentrated Crayons would be great as eyeshadow bases, and another raved about the Urban Decay x Gwen Stefani Eyeshadow Palette.
I took the comments to heart and used them both for this springy pink look. Thanks so much, ladies! I love hearing your comments, questions and tips, so keep them coming! Seriously, the comments make my day 🙂
To achieve this look, I used Maybelline Color Tattoo 25HR Concentrated Crayon in Pink Parfait as a base all over my eyelids, then applied Zone from the Urban Decay x Gwen Stefani palette in my crease using a Morphe E22 brush.
With the Zoeva Luxe Smoky Shader brush (first mentioned in this post on Zoeva), I packed Harajuku onto my lids, and Harajuku, by the way, is a pink lover’s dream! It’s hot pink and sparkly, but when used with Zone it’s not too bright.
And then on my brows I used ColourPop Cosmetics Brow Pencil in Black N’ Brown and Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara on my lashes.
For my base, I used Becca Aqua Luminous Foundation in Warm Honey, and this was my first time using this foundation. For the record, it’s amazing! I’ve tried other glowy foundations (I’ve reviewed Giorgio Armani Maestro Glow and L’oreal Lumi Cushion), but this is probably my favorite so far because of the buildable coverage and longevity.
On my cheeks, I used MAC Sweet as Cocoa blush, which is my go-to when I want a natural blush that won’t clash with the rest of my makeup. I also used Anastasia Beverly Hills Riviera Illuminator to highlight.
The Anastasia Beverly Hills Illuminators are great because they add a really pretty sheen that doesn’t emphasize pores.
On my lips, I used Anastasia Beverly Hills lipgloss in Dusty Lilac, and I am OBSESSED with this gloss. It’s the perfect pinky/lavender.
Which reminds me, I am so impressed with the ABH lip glosses (I have a post on my favorites from Anastasia Beverly Hills on my blog) and think these are the best lip glosses in my collection.
So, how do you rock pink eyeshadow? You know the drill… Spill your favorites in the comments! 🙂

I rarely rock pink eyeshadow. If I do I use a L´Oréal Infallible eyeshadow patted all over my lid as a quick wash of color.

I have a couple of the L’Oreal Infallible eyeshadows too! So easy and quick.

It looks beautiful on you, love the colors.

Thank you Maria!!

Wow! Very pretty! I love pink too, especially a pink lip. This look has given me a reason to experiment more with a single color palette in my looks.
Adia says
Thanks, Rachel! The single color look is my go to because it’s just so easy 🙂

I love my UD Naked Three palette because of all the pinky/rose gold hues. You look lovely. That gloss does look like it’s to die for & I adore your curls 🙂

Thank you!!! The Naked 3 is one of my faves too!

I’m so glad to see another pink eyeshadow lover! Your look is so soft and pretty for spring.
Pink shadow seems it gets so much hate. It’s wonderful with green eyes. I really love vivid bright pink looks with lots of black eyeliner and mascara. I think wearing a black or dark blue liner is key when wearing brighter pinks if one is worried about looking bloodshot or sick. I also like a lighter shimmery shadow paired with chocolate brown and golden champagne shades. I tend to favor pinky neutrals, as well. (Naked 3 for me, thanks!)

Girl, people always hate on pink eyeshadow! Love the tip about wearing blue liner with bright pink eyeshadow….definitely taking note! You have some great pairing suggestions. Thanks so much for sharing 🙂

Love it, looks quite subtle on you! And the whole pink-lip-pink-eyes thing definitely doesn’t look too matchy matchy here.
Adia says
Thanks babe!

You have the perfect coloring for pink everything!
Adia says
Thank you Erin! That’s all I wore as a kid….and I still haven’t grown out of it 😉

This is such a pretty look. Pink eyeshadow gets such a bad press, but it looks beautiful on you here!

Pretty feminine look for spring. I just brought the Visert Ribbons Boheme palette and it has several pinks I need to experiment with. So these pink eyeshadow looks are timely for me. I like you’re lip color too!
Adia says
Ohhh I’ve heard such great things about the Viseart palettes! I’m so tempted to pick one up because the colors + formula look incredible. Please report back!!

I really can’t wear pink unless it’s got very cool tones in it. My complexion is super pinky and reddish, so I look like I’m overheated if I wear too much pink!! I can wear a cool pink lip with neutral shadow. And I have a Chanel shadow palette with a very very pale, champagney pink I like for highlighting. Other than that, I’ve tried a lot that look soooo pretty in the pan and on other people, only to be sorely disillusioned! Only brownish blushes work. I have yet to find a pink blush that doesn’t make me look like I just ran a marathon and need a cool down shower, haha! Love this look I others though. 🙂

Ugh I know the feeling…when something looks soo good on others but you just can’t quite make it work #feelyourpain LOL. That just gives me an excuse to stockpile the things that do work for me 😉

So lovely and flattering!!! It’s so feminine but not overly so either! I also love how it coordinates with your top
Adia says
Thank you Anna! Loved your look too 🙂
