I swear, my last trip to Sephora was Connor’s idea. If she looks a little crabby in this picture, it’s because she’s practicing her #RBF (resting baby face).
I went to grab a couple things I’ve been wanting to try from my lust list, and speaking of that, that list has been exercising my wallet in ways I did not anticipate, LOL!
First, there’s this clarifying Bumble and Bumble Sunday Shampoo.
I had a a lot of product buildup in my hair after using a Klorane shampoo and mask, and Sunday Shampoo, which I used on Saturday (such a rebel!), got my hair feeling normal again. Buuuuuut, I still think I’m going to return it, because I read on the Sephora website (and don’t ask my why this didn’t sink in beforehand) that it isn’t recommended for color-treated hair, which I have.
Oh, well… It was fun while it lasted.
I do like the idea using a clarifying shampoo every so often to remove buildup from dry shampoo and other hair products, so I’m thinking about exchanging it for a shampoo by Briogio, a natural hair care line at Sephora, called Be Gentle, Be Kind Green Tea Clarifying Shampoo. It’s $24, so about the same price as the Bumble shampoo, which is $25, but it’s supposed to safe for color-treated hair.
I hope it smells good. 🙂
Also, while I was there, I picked up a tube of new Drunk Elephant Umbra Tinte Physical Daily Defense Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 30 ($36) with 20% zinc oxide.
Zinc oxide usually leaves a white cast on darker skin, but this one doesn’t! It’s really neat. I thought it would be too deep or peachy for me, but it isn’t. I can’t see it at all, which is great, and there’s no white cast! I used it on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, and my skin really likes it so far. It has a light mousse-y texture, so it absorbs quickly, and I don’t have to sit there working it in for days and days. Plus, it isn’t sticky, so it doesn’t leave my neck feeling gross, and it layers under foundation well.
It comes in a small-ish 2-oz. bottle, which does have me concerned. I wish the tube was larger for the price, because I have a feeling that I’m going to go through it quickly.
Lastly, on my way out of the store, I noticed a new display for Pinrose, which I’ve been dying to smell.
They’re so cute…
I wanna have all of these bottles lined up on my dresser, just so I can stare at them.
I sprayed a purple one called Lil’ Dipper on my wrist. It was nice and light, a lot like TOCCA. I think it would be good for layering.
So, what else should I try at Sephora? Find anything lately?
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

So, I’ve had this fragrance sampler gift certificate thing to redeem at Sephora for months now…I keep forgetting about that and just shopping online.
But those bottles of perfume do look cute!
I’ve been seeing Drunk Elephant *everywhere* lately and I’m dying to try something from them. The sunscreen sounds really nice so I’m checking it out on Sephora’s site; people are complaining about it being shimmery lol! I wonder if it smells nice, though?
Bumble and Bumble products smell so nice. I have the ORS Olive Oil shampoo that works nicely, but gently…and the apple-scented Herbal Essences shampoo that probably is harsh as heck, but it’s cheap and smells good haha.
Connor Claire’s expression is priceless <3 Is she totally unimpressed or scoping to see what she can get into when you look away? hehe

I have the same issues with claryfying shampoos. Most of them are heavy on he sulphates which is not ideal for colortreated hair. So far I have bit the bullet and used them every once in a while anyway, but if you find a gentle and suitable alternative that does the trick I´d be all ears!

I love the Briogeo clarifying shampoo!! Smells nice, leaves my curly hair feeling clean, but not stripped. Everything I have tried from that line has been good . . . Especially the deep conditioner!

Briogeo? I don´t think I have heard about them before.

Oooh, I’m super curious about a couple of the Pinrose fragrances!

The fragrances are super cute, especially lined up in the display. I’m glad the Drunk Elephant is working out for you. I’ve tried a bunch of their stuff (Sephora sample packs) but have yet to find a product I love. I’m currently using the Glycolic Night Serum and think it’s fine. I felt the same way about the C-Firma and B-Hydra. I know they get a ton of good reviews – just really haven’t personally had any results. But, you know, that’s skincare! 🙂
