Plant Your Lips on Palladio’s $6 Herbal Plump ‘n’ Shine Lip Glosses

February 15th, 2013 by Karen 18 Comments

Palladio Herbal Plump n Shine Sheerly Pink
That there is Palladio’s $6 Herbal Plump ‘n’ Shine in Sheerly Pink on my lips

You know what I like more than warm brownies with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side?

Not a lot. LOL! 🙂

Kidding. But seriously, I love finding new budget beauty bargains, like Palladio’s Herbal Plump ‘n’ Shine lip glosses.

There’s not a lot to ’em. They’re just your everyday comfy glosses with a brush applicator and a mirror-like shine, but they’re only $6 each, so they don’t cost an arm and a leg, and they’re packed with botanical ingredients.

Ingredients

Polybutene, Octyldodecanol, Silica Silylate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Tridecyl Trimellitate, Panax Ginseng Root Extract, Ginkgo Biloba Leaf Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Flower Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Ricinus Communis (Castor Oil) Seed Oil, Pentaerithrityl Hydroxyhydrocinnamate, Polyglyceryl-2 Diisostearate, Pentaerythrityl Tetraisostearate, Octyldodecyl Stearoyl Stearate, VP/Hexadecene Copolymer, Microcrystaliine Wax, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Tribehenin, Sorbitan Isostearate, Palmitoyl Oligopeptide, Retinyl Palmitate, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Soluble Collagen, Tocopherol, BHT, Bumetrizole, Tetradibutyl, Propylparaben

Generally, when it comes to plumping lip products, I pretty much ignore the claims (except when they say something about “burning” or “buzzing”). These do have a faint tingling sensation, but I don’t mind. I actually do feel like the shine from these, if not the tingling, does make my lips appear a little bigger (or maybe that’s just the tingling keeping me on my toes).

Luckily, I like the way they taste and smell faintly of vanilla, since they don’t last all that long on my lips. I find myself having to whip one out to re-apply every hour.

PRICE: $6 each (available in a range of colors)
AVAILABILITY: Available now at Sally Beauty Supply and Ulta stores, and also online
MAKEUP AND BEAUTY BLOG RATING: B (nice for the price, but limited wear time)

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

P.S. TGIF!

Happy Friday! Phew…so glad this week is over. 🙂 I hope you and El Hub have a great weekend (and take time off on Monday, as well).

I really like both these glosses on you, though I had my doubts about Creamy from the name and the swatch. I had almost forgotten about the Guerlain palette, so thanks for showcasing it, in all its loveliness, again here. HAHA!

      Hi Kim!

      Happy Friday to you too.

I wish you lived closer. If you did, I’d be over in a heartbeat and I’d do your eyes with the Guerlain palette. Seriously, you’d fall in love.

      Have a wonderful weekend!

These are pretty and are a great price. Too bad they don’t have a longer wear time.

You know what’s also good is a scoop of vanilla ice cream on a warm chocolate chip cookie. 🙂

TGIF – have a great weekend!

Okay, now I want a chocolate chip cookie. Ideally it would be semi-sweet and extra chewy!

You have a great weekend, too. Got any exciting plans?

No major plans. So far I’ve spent Friday night baking cupcakes and watching the kitties play with catnip. 🙂

These seem pretty. I don’t often shop at Sally’s OR Ulta, but next time I’m at either place, I will be sure to check these out 🙂

I have one of these which I ignored for months (it has a brush vs. a doe foot, which I deemed an unworthy product) .. pulled it out as I had nothing else available and waaaaa! It’s GREAT! Just what I like in a gloss .. shiny, not sticky.

Your swatches are what makes me head to the stores to check stuff out or order it, so your pics are absolutely amazing! Drugstore stuff is getting better and better – in fact, I think that there are very few things now that don’t work well, and it depends on the brand. Drugstore makeup has also gotten a bit more expensive since I first started buying it several years ago, so maybe the elevated expense comes with putting better ingredients in their products.

Welcome to Makeup and Beauty Blog
Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my two-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my cat (Tabs).
