Deborah Milano is an Italian drugstore makeup brand, but today I’ll pretend she’s just a friend, because I’m pretty exhausted from working long hours at Cosmoprof, which is a huge beauty expo here in Bologna, for the past four days, and I could really use a friendly face.
Or a masseuse!
But anyways, let’s talk about Deborah. Born in Milan in 1962, she’s since made good friends with hundreds of thousands of Italian women by making beauty accessible to all of them, rather than just the élite, as it had been before.
Deborah is a really great girl. If you give her a chance, she’ll bring out and highlight your best qualities. She may embarrass you and make you blush sometimes…but I’m sure you’ll forgive her because of how she colors your life. Not to mention that you can count on her 24/7.
Today, I’m letting you in on a few of her secret weapons!
Deborah Milano Natural Effect Blush in 06 (€11.50/$12.90)
Don’t be fooled by the cheap-looking plastic packaging. This blush is a real gem. The mauvy pink shade here, 06, is one of those that looks much better applied than it does in the pan. I think it looks really natural on my complexion, and it blends effortlessly and lasts a pretty long time for a powder blush. What more could you want?
Deborah Milano Radiance Creator Highlighting Concealer in 01 Light (€12.50/$14)
Weightless and radiant, this clicky pen does a great job of illuminating my complexion and under-eye area without looking heavy or cakey. I also like the fact that it doesn’t crease, nor does it emphasize the dryness I’ve been experiencing lately under my eyes.
Deborah Milano 24ORE Color Mat Eyeliner in 09 Lavender & 10 Bamboo (€11.50/$12.90)
Because of their pastel hues and matte finish, the 24ORE Color Mat Eyeliners make you look like you’ve used crayons on your eyes, which might not be for everyone, but I personally find it kinda cool. They’re pretty unique and fun so, although I probably won’t be using them daily, I’m happy I’ve added them to my collection.
Deborah Milano 24ORE Waterproof Eyeliner in Black (€11.50/$12.90)
Intensely black, fully opaque after one swipe, and exceptionally long-lasting — these are the qualities that make Deborah 24ORE Waterproof Eyeliner one of the very best liquid liners I’ve ever tried.
Deborah Milano Atomic Red Mat Lipstick in 01 (€12.50/$14)
I just love this Atomic Red Mat Lipstick, but I’m not sure how to describe it. It looks like a mix of red, orange and pink, and if you like to wear color on your lips but don’t want to go too bright during the day, I think it would be a great lipstick for you.
It has a satin-matte finish and doesn’t feel drying, but it doesn’t excel in the longevity department, so make sure to pop it in your handbag to touch up throughout the day.
Do you know my friend Deborah? If not, you should definitely come to Italy and meet her! 😉

Hi Carolina – I hope you had fun at the show. Some people from our company were exhibiting and walking it (not me, this year) and said it was impossible to get through the aisles on Sunday, I believe. Always great when it’s busy but it does make for a tiring show. I hope it was successful for you and you saw a lot of inspiring things!
PS I heard the nail art “stamping plate” booth was wildly busy. What did you find to be new and exciting?
Carolina Braina says
Unfortunately, I didn’t really get much time to explore. 🙁

Just last night my daughter and I were talking about taking a trip to Italy together, without my husband. Without him, I’m pretty sure there would be plenty of art museums, and clothes and beauty shopping on the itinerary.
I would definitely want to explore this brand if we found it. Love the red lippie!
Erin says
Oh, the highlighting pen consistency looks very similar to the Dior one!

Hi Carolina,
I’m going to be going to Italy next month, and was wondering if there were any drugstore brands to look out for! So I’m glad I read your article! Are there any others you would recommend I seek out while I’m there?
Thanks in advance!
Shani x

Hi Shani! Definitely check out KIKO stores, which are in the drugstore price range. Also, you may want to read my guide to makeup shopping in Italy if you haven’t already 😉 https://www.makeupandbeautyblog.com/cosmetics/insiders-guide-makeup-shopping-italy/

I’m in the USA, so I haven’t had the pleasure of trying this brand. I’m impressed by your swatches and looks. How pretty are those pastel eyeliners?! I giggled at your comment on the blush brush. 🙂

I’ve only tried their lipstick (shade 16 is a really pretty brown) but those liners! They look amazing. Time to check more of their stuff out.
