It’s a blast from the past! Remember Barbie Loves MAC from 2007?
The one that started it all. My very first MAC obsession. I can still remember going to the counter and debating whether to buy backups of the two Beauty Powders (I never did).
The pieces here hold a special place in my heart because they were the subjects of the very first post here on MBB.
ZOMG!
I cringe a little when I see these old pics because at the time I didn’t know anything about photography. I know they’re a little blurry.
The pieces are old… Yes, I’m guilty of keeping makeup longer than I should, but 1) I like to have them around to reference, and 2) I think some products (like these) are collectibles.

You take fantastic pics nowadays! 😀 And I totally keep most of my makeup for years and years (except for mascara, which I dutifully toss out as needed). Wearing older eyeshadow, blush, lip gloss, etc. hasn’t killed me or given me any nasty infections, but storing my extensive beauty stash definitely takes up a lot of room! 😉 Wanna join me for a new reality show, Makeup Hoarders?

Makeup Hoarders – I love that idea! You should so pitch it to TLC 🙂 I be they’d find plenty of subjects.

Ahh! Springtime Skipper! I missed it during the original launch but picked it up a few years later w/the 5 Cool Eyes Palette in MAC Trip.

This was an awsome collection! I only have two items: Magic Dust e/s and Springtime Skipper e/s.
Karen says
I wish I picked up Magic Dust, sigh.
Do you remember the cute T-shirt that came with this launch?

Lovvvvved this collection, especially Malibu Barbie lip glass & Rockin’ Chic lipstick–both a bright pink. The lip glass had a blue pearl tint that was perfect and never quite duplicated by other lip glasses.
I always feel like other collections pale in comparison, but other February releases came close–Fafi in ’08 and Hello Kitty in ’09. Karen, please convince MAC to re-release some of the fans’ fave pieces in the best collections! ;*

I wish I got my hands on some of the Barbie stuff while it was out!

I’m debating whether or not I want to keep some of my makeup for the sake of novelty and collecting.

Damn, I wish I was into MAC when those lovelies came out 🙁

This was the first makeup I bought for my daughter. I can’t believe it was 4 years ago! She was only 12! Yikes!

Ah I remember those too! Your photos blow me away now, Karen!

I loved this collection! I got some eyeshadows, the fashion pack lipgloss, sweet & single lipstick, and i always still use my Fab blush! Wish MAC would do some great collections like these again. Lately everything seems to be recycled ideas and repromotes!

Confession: I still have the eyeshadow quad from Chanel that I used on my wedding day 17 1/2 years ago. I tried to get rid of it several years ago so I asked my hubby for “permission” to throw it out (I didn’t have the courage or desire really to get rid of it) and he told me “Don’t do it!” So now I keep it in my drawer with the rest of my makeup. I guess I will until I die! 🙂 Another thing I have kept is an old lipstick given to me back in 2001 by a wonderful friend that died of breast cancer a few years later. I keep it in with my high-end lipsticks (mostly Chanel). Sure it takes up space but it’s my little reminder of how special she was to me.
