I’ve always liked the front of San Francisco’s historic Castro Theater.

AWWW – love me some Castro Theater. Especially when the organ guy plays as you sit in your seats and right when the coming attractions starts he descends to the bottom of the theater floor magically. I love it!! So old school.
Ah, I miss The Castro. I saw the US premiere of the anime movie “Spirited Away” there, with one of the lead animators and Jon Lasseter from Pixar speaking afterwards. Lovely movie, lovely venue!
You been to The Paramount in Oakland? Now THAT is another movie palace!
I love the Castro Theatre!!! I saw Mary Poppins there, and they gave us a whole bag of goodies to use during the movie. Like 2 plastic pennies for “Feed the Birds,” a plastic harmonica for Burt’s songs, and (for the parts when the Admiral’s cannon goes off) those awesome party-popper mini “champagne” bottles that explode when you open them and spray confetti everywhere).
Ah, I had such a good time at the Castro a few years ago. I went with a friend for her bachelorette party and we saw Some Like It Hot. We had so much fun! 🙂

So much cooler than a regular movie theater.

I love historic theatres. In Vancouver, I love walking by the Orpheum and the Vogue on Granville. The vintage signage is very beautiful.
