Guerlain Baby Glow, Guerlain Baby Glow, Guerlain Baby Glow… Now try to say that three times really fast without thinking of tiny glow-in-the-dark infants.
It’s almost impossible, isn’t it?? THOSE DAMNED GLOWING BABIES.
I’ve always wanted to look like an incandescent infant.
OK, not really. 🙂 But I like the idea behind Baby Glow. It’s a sheer foundation that’s supposed to make you look less stressed and flat-out exhausted by appearing to plump your skin (only aesthetically; it doesn’t actually plump it) and make it look more luminous.
The new product line recently launched with the spring collection in just three shades ($54 each) — 02 Clair, 03 Medium and 04 Dore.
I’m closest to 04 Dore, the deepest shade (incidentally, I’m an NC42 in MAC-speak), a medium-toned peachy golden tan, although I think it’s still a tad too light for me to wear on its own, so I warm it up with some bronzer or mix it with a darker foundation.
I have worn it a few times around the house by itself to get a sense of it, and even though the color isn’t a perfect match, I abso-friggin-lutely love how Baby Glow looks on my skin.
It evens everything out, smoothes my pores and adds a very subtle tint. Booyah to the satiny finish, too (very natural-looking). If you’re a BB cream gal, this is probably going to make you go ga-ga-goo-goo. Fingers crossed that one of the three shades works well for ya.
By the way, this stuff is heavily scented (like most of Guerlain’s products) and smells like the Meteorites highlighters. My nose detects notes of pear, lily-of-the-valley and those candy necklaces.
Baby girl, you’ll find Baby Glow right now for $54 at Guerlain counters, Sephora stores and online.
P.S.

I have read so many glowing (get it?) reviews on this product and I want it soo bad. I am not sure if any of the shades would match my skin though. But it really made your skin look glowy, healthy and fresh!
Karen says
Very punny (haha), Agata! These are pretty sheer so even if the color that would go best with your skin is a not an exact match, you can do a little futzing to help it along (which is what I’ll do with the bronzer). Or you could mix some of your current fave foundation into the mix!
Happy Friday to you. It’s clear but windy and kind of cold here today. I’m looking forward to tomorrow because I’m going to meet a friend for lunch and a spin class at SoulCycle. I’ve never been but I hear it’s fun. What are your plans?
Agata says
I need to find a counter that actually carries Guerlain. Maybe Sephora in Vegas will have it! There are so many new foundation I want to try though- the new Dior Serum foundation, the new one from Nars…
A Spin Class sounds like fun although I have never tried it. It’s still freezing here, in the morning it was -8! I need to find a pair of comfortable shoes for Vegas but I want them to still be somewhat dressy. I am thinking of going to a Crocs store, I saw online they have some cute looking ones that don’t look like original shapeless Crocs, lol.
And I need to do a lot of blogging stuff too, since I will be gone almost all week!
Karen says
Lucky for you there is a Guerlain store in Vegas! While you are shopping there spritz a few perfumes for me so I can live vicariously through you!
For your trip, how about some flats? I’ve been wearing the leopard print ones by Dr. Scholl’s (from DSW) and am very happy with them. They have them in other colors, too. Solids and prints and such.
Agata says
You seriously made my day with that Guerlain store. I have looked it up, it’s inside The Venetian. I was there 2 years ago but I don’t remember seeing that store. Maybe I just missed it somehow.
I will see if I can make my way to DSW, I really liked those flats you have. Unfortunately, there is no DSW conveniently close to me…

Every time I see a review of this, I *die* a little because it gives such a pretty effect on the skin. I definitely need it.
Karen says
Hi Arianne,
The finish is absolutely gorgeous! I think you will fall in love when you try it. Here’s to hoping that Dore works for you. *crosses fingers*
Happy Friday, by the way! What are you up to this weekend?
masha russia says
I am that kind of ga-ga-goo-goo girl. Absolutely love BB creams and Guerlain looks lovely on you. I can see that it instantly brightened you up. No need of 8 hour sleep with this foundation! 🙂
Karen says
Hi Masha Russia,
I’m starting to love BB creams! Which ones are your favorites?
Erin says
I really like how this looks. Normally their 02 color is about an NC 20 so I’m not sure it will work for me.
Debra says
Oh, you got the pineapple top!!
This look is spring-glowy on you but I think not enough pink for me. But I got other options!
Karen says
Hi Debra,
Yeah, after seeing it sit there in my cart I eventually had to give in! I love this top. It’s soft (so important… I have no patience for clothing that gives me grief in any way) and the print is so fun. 🙂
As for the foundation, you have a ton of options. Maybe the similar one by Dior?
Happy Friday!
Monica L. says
I love the pineapple top!!!

Hey Karen! That last TGIF .gif image is totally cute! It makes me happy. 😀 See, it doesn’t take much to make me happy but I’d be the happiest if I could find my Baby Glow perfect match! I have a feeling that Medium will be too light and Dore will be too dark for my MAC NC30 skin. 🙁
TGIF!! <3
Karen says
Hi JAA,
Aww, glad to hear that! I would love a Baby Glow in my perfect match, too. LOL
Ya know, you might want to try the Medium anyway. They’re pretty sheer so it could work for you.
TGIF!

It looks gorgeous on you! I so want to try it, but I have a feeling none of the shades will be a good match for me. 🙁
Karen says
Hi Gio,
If you can get a sample from the counter give it a go because the finish is beautiful I didn’t think Dore would fit me at all but it does mostly does. You never know!
Happy Friday. 🙂
A says
Is it in the permanent line?
Karen says
Hi A,
Yes it is!
Tatiana says
I so want to try this. I even think the lightest shade might work for me, maybe. That is if it’s not a tad too dark. I don’t understand the three shade thing, since women come in so many beautiful complexion colors!
But you mentioned it has that Guerlain perfume-y cosmetic smell. Sigh. I just cannot abide by that smell. I love perfume. Alot. Just not on my face. I wish Guerlain didn’t do that to all their makeup. Ugh. I guess I will stick with my Giorgio Armani CC cream for that glow-y look.
Angela Bonanza says
Sooo pretty! And I’m wearing pineapple socks right now so I like your shirt haha 🙂
Fancie says
I love how this looks on you! I really hope Guerlain decides to add more shades. This seems like the perfect foundation for me
Kiss & Make-up says
I definitely see glow! I don’t see a shade that would work for me though…

Hi Karen! Can you tell me if these are similar to the Chanel Les Beiges? Thanks in advance. p.S. You’re my favorite and go to blogger when it comes to makeup. Thanks for reppin us Bay Area pinays
Michele says
Hi Karen – wow this is beautiful on you!! Now when you say it’s BB like – does that mean it doesn’t need a moisturizer under it? I’m looking for a summer BB that’s lightweight and non greasy – could this be it?

Gosh such a difference !!!
