I like the mint one, for when i just need a little pick me up. the chocolate puerh is great as a coffee substitute. i’ve been drinking a lot more tea as a part of quitting smoking!
Oh, good for you! My brother quit a while back; I know it’s very hard.
I’ve been drinking more tea because I’m trying to cut back on coffee (makes me too jittery). I’ve noticed that I’ve been sleeping better, too. I like to hoard different flavors so I’ll have to try those next.
Have you ever had Mighty Leaf Teas? Those are REALLY yummy.
I was drinking Throat coat around the clock the last 2 weeks because I was sick! Thank stuff is the BOMB for a sore throat!!! I don’t even add any sugar cause it’s sweet enough! When I lived at home and my throat hurt my mom would make me Throat coat and drop a Ricola in it. Mommy was the best!!!
Haven’t been able to find the coconut chai tea here in charleston, sc. Same thing with the sugar cookie tea! Had to have my mom ship me down a few boxes from Buffalo, NY.
You should try Adagio tea’s. They have AMAZING tea’s!!
GREEN TEAS – Kyoto Cherry Rose, Genmaicha (toasty and comforting!)
ROOIBOS – Godiva Rocher, Vanilla
HERBAL – Ginger Pieces, Foxtrot (Vanilla Rooibos, Peppermint & Chamomile, adds a dimension to the tea that the individual ones don’t have), Chrysanthemum (in my country, Korea, this is supposed to have a lot of skin beautifying benefits)
BLACK TEAS – Earl Grey Cream (SO delicious), Coconut Black, English Breakfast
They have so many kinds to choose from, and the prices are so reasonable for top notch, loose leaf tea! The shop is also local & not at all like the chain tea shops.
Yogi is by far my favorite brand, and my top picks are Healthy Fasting, Breathe Deep, Ginger, and Egyptian Licorice. Aztec Sweet Chili is pretty interesting too. Breathe Deep is one of the closest I’ve found to Aveda Comforting tea, which might be my all-time favorite.
If I’m really sitting and enjoying it, I love blooming tea 🙂
It is, but not unbearably so. There’s cocoa in it, which helps temper it and gives it a really nice body. IMO, it’s better than the Mayan cocoa spice because of the zing from the cayenne, where Mayan gets a little muddy.
Hmm. I had a gelato like that once — it was milk chocolate with chili spice, I believe. I remember liking the contrast, so I might try Aztec one of these days. Do you drink it plain, or with milk and sugar? The thought of chili and milk kinda makes my tummy churn, LOL!
I drink most of my teas plain, but I’m a black coffee kind of girl. I don’t really care for milk in my tea, but I tend to favor really robust, heavy flavors. Most of my favorite yogi teas have some kind of pepper in them.
I like Tazo Zen… But my favourite one must be Green Ginger… I also love Tazo Refresh =D… both are great for throats! You might want to try it to enhance your driving-singing-voice =D.
I was wondering how you prepare the Tazo Passion tea? I let the water boil, steeped for 3 minutes AND even contemplated my favorite eternal mystery but the flavor was just too tart! Or maybe that’s just how the tea is supposed to be…?
Passion tea is very tart! It’s just like a floral tea my mother would bring home from Germany all the time. It’s either an acquired taste or delicious with lots of rock sugar stirred in, which is how I drank it growing up 🙂 In addition to the tart hibiscus, it also has citrus extract and orange peel in it.
I drink a lot of tea too! Yogi Ginger is one of my favorites at the moment! I can seriously go through a whole box every week! Try Revolution Tea if you can find it where you are. They make the best mint tea (Southern Mint) I’ve tried, and the Cramel Honeybush one is also to-die-for!!!
I love (LOVE) Yogi teas!! I go through about a box of sweet chili per month, and I swear their herbal Chai tea helps so much with erm water retention that I was back in my skinny jeans a day after I first drank it!
Hmm and Tazo too, a shame we can’t get them in Europe. And on my last trip to Texas, I found out about the wonders of Hibiscus tea, cooled and mixed with lemonade or simple sparkling water.
Ooh, I love throat coat! That stuff is the shiznit when you’re all dry and scratchy. Another favorite of mine is Yogi’s Ginkgo Clarity. It’s an awesome wake-you-up-in-the-morning sort of tea.
I love love love tea, and one of my favorite brands for bags is Pukka. They’re all organic and yummy 🙂 My favorites are Love and Original Chai, so good!
For loose tea, the best brand is Kusmi Tea. The flavors are amazing and they come in really cute tins 🙂
Whew Karen you have no idea how much tea I guzzle each day. I tasked myself with sorting our tea cupboard (yes, we have an entire cupboard complete with 4 shelves dedicated to tea) – it took a good afternoon. It probably didn’t help that I kept stopping for tea breaks.
Everyday I start my morning with twinings english breakfast because it’s easy and in teabags, and I can’t think straight enough to measure out loose tea.
Other teabag teas I love include Teapigs, which have a variety of interesting flavours in biodegradable tea temples. My absolute favourite from them is the Skinny Creme Caramel one – which is Rooibos with tiny pieces of caramel inside which makes the tea smell sweet, and gives a tiny bit of a sweet aftertaste. The Christmas tea is also amazing because it’s Rooibos base with all the herbs of mulled wine – so it smelles divine. Again not sure if it is available where you are?
If you have a teaset and want to have afternoon tea, you absolutely MUST try Mariage Freres Teas if you can get hold of them. They are so fragrant and delicious (but extremely expensive so they are a bit of a luxury) – I love the white sakura one! Delicious!!

I <3 Tazo Zen green tea!
Karen says
It’s so good. The Zen one is very refreshing, especially when you make it iced.

have you tried the Puerh teas from Numi? SO delicious!
Karen says
No, I haven’t! Do I need to? Which flavor do you like best?

Yes it is! It’s by far the best tea I’ve ever tried for a sore throat. I’ll have to use your mom’s trick next time… that’s genius!
Okay, so there’s a Sugar Cookie Tea? Who makes it? I must try it!
Heidi says
I’ll take that Throat Coat, please. I’ve been downing that stuff all week since I came down with a nasty bug over the weekend!
My aunt sent me some cinnamon apple tea from Germany for Christmas and I’ve really been enjoying that, too.
Karen says
Throat Coat is good stuff! When I was feeling a little under the weather a few weeks ago it really helped soothe my throat.
That cinnamon apple tea sounds delicious!
I hope Missy is doing a good job taking care of you.
Shaylee Anne says
Yep, I’m addicted to loose tea! Especially David’s Tea, they have such amazing combinations that are different from any other tea place!
Karen says
Oh, another new tea line for me to try! 🙂

Karen,
Try Thé Kiosque, a Montreal-based independent tea shop (they Ship on both sides of the border) – AMAZING loose leaf teas & teawares!
My favorites:

oh, just realized I forgot the website – thekiosque dot ca!

That website looks amazing! I’m going to have no trouble getting free shipping. How many cups can you get from 50 grams?

Have you tried Starbuck’s Refresh Tea? It’s really minty and “fresh.” I love it with a little bit of honey.

I’ve had it iced before… it’s really refreshing!

I’ve been sick with a wicked bug, gone through more than a box of Sleepytime…yum!

I always have a cup before bed. Have you tried the Vanilla version above? Sometimes I like doing two bags for an extra sleepy time, LOL!
Hope you feel better soon.
