I’m still deeply in love with the Kerastase Bain Elixir Ultime Shampoo and Conditioner I picked up at the salon after my last haircut, but you know how it is to be a beauty junkie. One week you’re making a lifelong commitment; the next week you’re eyeing a new crush. 🙂
Aaaaand, my latest crush? The shampoo, conditioner and hair mask from the Beautiful Color Collection by Oribe limited edition holiday set.
First…it’s $75.
Yup, it’s a splurge, but if you want glossy, shiny strands and regularly stock your shower with pricey products for your color-treated mop, it could be worth it. You get an 8.5-ounce full-size bottle of Oribe’s Shampoo, a 6.8-ounce tube of their Conditioner for Beautiful Color and a 1.7-ounce travel-sized jar of Oribe Masque for Beautiful Color.
On mornings when I plan to bust out the flat iron and wear my hair straight, I like using a good shampoo and conditioner in the shower (I don’t shampoo every day because it dries out my scalp and hair). These products from Oribe add lots of shine without tons of weight, and oh, gosh, the scent!
Like mandarin oranges and jasmine… I love it, and the fact that it’s not so strong that it interferes with my perfume is the icing on the cake.
“Intense cuticle-enriching conditioners, color-protecting UV filters and next-generation frizz-taming biopolymers supercharge this reparative, glossifying trio.”
— From the PR for the Oribe Beautiful Color Collection
The products do contain silicones, though, in case you’re trying to avoid them. I’m OK with them in moderation, so I won’t be using these every day. Maybe once or twice a week, which is about how often I straighten my hair.
If you’re interested in checking out the set, it’s available now online and at Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman stores.

I’m intrigued by the scent as you describe it: citrus and jasmine, nice. I know this is stupid but I like my color-treated hair, that I wash every other day or so to prevent the red from fading, to feel a little bit squeaky clean before I add the conditioner. Dumb, I know, but old habits die hard. So, I always am eager to find out if you get that squeak…especially before spending that kind of $

Whoa, $75? I don’t think I could do it…

I have used he masque in this line before and you are right, it smells amazing! I liked it, but not enough to repurchase with that high of price. Have you tried the moisturizing leave in cream from Oribe? It has the same amazing smell. I still use that in my rotation- a little bit goes a long way. It’s fab for taming frizz.

I use the shampoo from this range when I actually style my hair (most days I just wear it up) and I really love it!

You look just beautiful, Karen ! And your hair is so shiny ! Guess you’re another beauty addict who is a friend of the flat iron… 😉
I might just splurge for this as you are quite convincing, and even though I don’t really do much with my hair (I’m a messy, quick up-do/sort-of-ponytail kind of gal) I still like my hair to be healthy, smooth, and glossy, so this might be just the thing for my Christmas/Hanukkah present to myself.
(Confession – I already bought my presents to me about 10 times over with the Black Friday deals at Sephora, Bliss, Urban Decay, Stila, and Jane Iredale, but I like to think of it as “Look how much money I’ve saved !!!”)
Hope everyone, including MBB doggies and kitties, have a good weekend !

This is definitely a splurge! I’m curious to see more reviews though. Silicone products can be a bit drying on my hair
