I even look short on ice skates, go figure.
Took this yesterday at Union Square in San Francisco just before I landed a triple axel. Totally kidding! I can skate fast and not fall, and that’s about it. I’ve never gotten around to learning how to brake. I usually just crash into the closest wall (or person) at full speed. Secretly, I kind of enjoy body checking things/people, and part of me wonders if I missed my calling as a hockey player…
Wow that ice needs cleaned bad! Kudos to you for being able to skate on that ice!
Someone get a Zamboni!
I’m the same way with skating and (not) braking!
This photo makes me want to find an outdoor rink and try to teach myself how to do a hockey-stop.
Happy New Year, Karen!
I wish i could ice skate, but in Colombia there is nothing similar to this. The photo makes me want to ice skate soo bad! ha ha
hope you are having a great 1rst of January:)
ps; love your blog
You don’t look short! You are super proportional (which is really the point) and you look just great!

That’s my problem too, I can’t brake. And I still remember when I fell on my back (and head!) when I was about 4.
I really wish I could skate, it always looks like so much fun! But I just lack any sense of balance and grace, I think I may be channeling the pope the way I always manage to land on all fours like a complete nutter…
Short or not, you look like you’re having a great time and that’s most important! You look great!
