For the love of tubby tabbies, why can’t I spell the word “algorithm”!?
I keep wanting to spell it algo-rhythm, which sounds like some kind of weird exercise class where you crunch numbers and abs.
“Welcome to Algo-Rhythm! Where Zumba and calculus collide!”
I also can’t figure out why this NARS Algorithm Laguna Bronzing Palette is seems so huge (it’s 0.24 ounces, which I only realized after I published this post is actually smaller than the regular NARS Laguna Bronzer’s 0.28 ounces, but for some reason it just seemed bigger to me). Or expensive. It’s $89!
I mean, I love NARS Laguna, but it’s already in almost every single NARS blush palette. It’s not like I’m gonna be running out of it anytime soon. This pan alone could conceivably last the rest of the decade.
*Shrugs shoulders* I guess some people really like Laguna.
The palette also comes with a mini-sized NARS Ita Brush, which I think is just OK… I need to spend more time with it, though, because so far, I keep having to finish my blending with a fluffy brush after using it.
If you want to decipher this Algorhythm Algorithm, it arrives at department and specialty stores, online, and at NARS boutiques November 1.

JAWDROPSSSS =O

Holy shit that thing is impractically massive. How could anyone love bronzer so much, particularly a single bronzer? I’ve purchased three sculpting items just this WEEK.
Which camera do you use by the way? Your photos are so damned fabulous!

Such a massive Laguna!! Actually it does run out pretty quickly atleast for me so this palette should last a while but why so expensive!?!? Bummed!
Fancie says
I’m with you Karen. This thing is ridiculously massive and unnecessary lol. Not to mention pricey. $90 for a bronzer that they toss into every palette/set imaginable? Nope. Even if you love Laguna this is a hell of a commitment for a makeup lover lol

Wow, that’s a lot of Laguna! Do you have the ITA brush in regular size? I have heard so many people talk about how great it is for contouring.

Laguna XXXL! Wowza!

WOW! I’m still spending a whopping $3 on E.L.F. Studio Bronzer in “cool” and, according to my eyes, this shade is in there. I haven’t ventured into the e.l.f. baked line, but for the money, I’d never buy the NARS unless it came with a foot massage. ( I’m not cheap, just no way to validate this for me, unlike some Chanel,MAC and Smashbox products that I will shell out for over and over again.)

Wow! That’s massive! I don’t think I’d ever be able to finish it.

Oh, this is awful on so many levels for me. The idea of crunching abs AND numbers doesn’t sound even remotely fun. Laguna always looks a bit muddy on me (and I have a super huge pan already, with Orgasm as a duo). There’s also something about this new collection packaging that I don’t care for. It’s like Spidey’s webslingers got out of control and spewed all over it. That’s probably just me, though. 🙂 And Happy Friday!!

I was actually considering purchasing this until I compared it to a “full size” Laguna, and this one is smaller! Less product for twice the price? No ma’am. I don’t care how cute that mini ITA brush is, or how pretty the packaging is.

LOL @ “Would last a decade!” :-))

I like the size of this. I often feel bronzers are too small to work with a big fluffy brush. This certainly takes care of that!
Indya says
Way too expensive!

Hi Karen,
According to the Sephora site, the regular Laguna is .28ozs; if that’s right, this one is smaller than usual and not bigger. I don’t think the little brush makes it worth the price difference.
Jennifer says
If only NARS would make some matte palettes!

I have an ambivalent relationship with calculus, but I would totally do an Algo-Rhythm class!
Did you know that the word ‘algorithm’ comes from the name of the Persian mathematician and astronomer Al-Khwārizmī (c. 780–850)? He wrote a treatise (in Arabic, in the 9th C) on mathematics that was translated into Latin in the 12th century – its Latin title was Algoritmi de numero Indorum (Algoritmi on the numbers of the Indians), and you can see how that latinisation of his name got us to ‘algorithm!’ today 😀
Pardon the random historical/etymological excursion, but I think it’s cool, and…I know nothing about bronzers, LOL!

NARS published a correction: the price is $59. Still ridiculous, IMO.
