Whatever you do, bring snacks. El Hub and I rented kayaks today on the lake, and I kid you not, we kayaked two hours each way. The reason: to conquer (get to) Lake Tahoe’s only island, Fannette Island.
It’s a small rocky island with an old abandoned castle-like structure at the very top.
It was a very fun, physically challenging day. My arms are still burning, and the only thing that will heal them is pizza.
I’d never spent this much time on the lake before, and it really is shockingly blue and beautiful. It’s as blue and clear as a tropical ocean.
