Halo-Halo There!

Halo-halo, a Filipino ice cream dessert (that’s purple yam ice cream on top)

I hope you had a happy Mother’s Day yesterday. :) I drove out to my parents’ house in the East Bay, and then we all went out and got Chinese for lunch.

That picture up there at the top is what we had for dessert back at the house. It’s called halo-halo, a Filipino ice cream dessert.

What an adorable duo. Did Tabs do anything special for you on Mother’s Day?

And that purple is FABULOUS. Blurples are my favorite kind of purple. I need a lippie in that shade stat.

I missed home! Waaahhh! I love the Ube Ice cream on top of the Halo Halo. I love the tapioca pearls, shredded coconut, jackfruit, caramelized bananas, mango, Nata de Coco, sweet black beans and everything else under the sun. Yum!

The lotus root dish kind of creeps me out (I hate clusters of holes like that… creepy!) but I want to eat the Halo Halo because that purple color is INTENSE. I love it!

Your mom’s adorable, I love her funny face with you! I haven’t seen my mom yet for Mother’s Day, but I’ll be picking up a new bottle of Chanel for her before I see her :)

    • Karen says:

I get what you mean. I feel the same way when I see some clusters with holes that are really close…BLECH!

So, I think you would love the purple ice cream. It’s ube, which is a root, and it’s very sweet. I’m actually craving this dessert right now, om nom nom.

Which scent are you getting your mom? No. 5?
