If you can, marry a man who’ll buy you a pair of glasses to reduce eye strain.
I’m so not kidding!
Without even asking him to, El Hub got me these Gamma Ray Glasses ($30) from amazon.com last week, and they have straight-up changed my life.
Thank you, El Hub. 🙂
They’re great if you stare at a computer screen all day long, like yours truly. Something about filtering out the blue light, which is tough on your eyes, or something like that…
I’m not exactly sure how they work, but they do! My eyes seriously feel better at the end of the day, and my head doesn’t hurt (I get these headaches behind my eyes after I’ve been staring at the screen for 12 hours).
Because of the whole tinted lenses thing, though, I don’t use them when I’m working on pics. Mostly just writing.
It’s weird… When I wear them, I can actually feel the muscles on my face and eyes relaxing, and I don’t squint as much. By late afternoon when the glare on the screen in my office is at its worst, these help a lot.
Placebo effect?
Maybe… I don’t know. I don’t think so. I think they really work.
I’ve got the ones with the tortoiseshell frames, but they also come in black.

Not only do they look really cool but they sound pretty great too! I’ll probably need a pair soon at the rate I’m going. Thanks for sharing!

My inspiration my new glasses must be like yours. of course when I am able to get new ones My glasses got a scratch right in the middle of the left glass, I can see perfectly with the right glass but not with the other, the one with the scratch. Your glasses look good on you.

I need computer glasses, I might have to pick these up! I get headaches after looking at my computer all day at work.

Also, blue light reduces the amount of melatonin that you produce, which can worsen insomnia. Any color screen, even your iPhone or iPad, produces blue light.

I got a pair a few days ago after your first post on it. I hope it will help my tired eyes because I also use the computer 12 hours every day.

So hawt 😉 I wear reading glasses sooo….no Gamma Rays for me. But I could use a stronger prescription so when I go back to the eye doctor I need to check into blue light causing eyes strain.

Iiiiiinteresting. I was wondering if these help with the melatonin issue, but someone already mentioned that part. Awesome! I had been considering getting the lenses that help you regulate melatonin production, but now I’m thinking I should try these. They are WAY cuter. But the school year’s almost over and I hope to get away from the computer as much as possible this summer.

Aside from the brownish tint on the lens, these would make some pretty cute regular glasses too!

El Hub is definitely a keeper. That’s so sweet that bought those for you so you don’t have eyestrain and headaches.

OMG I need those! They might help you sleep better if you are sensitive to blue light melatonin disruption!

OMG. I just ordered a pair. I totally struggle to see the computer screen. Plus, hello? You look totally cute. Therefore, I will look totally cute, too! Right? Um, right?
