This warms my heart! We have a tradition in my family that no matter what, we will always give each other cards for special occasions. And even though my brother and I are scattered around the world, away from out parents, the tradition lives on! Albeit with more ingenuity; we’ve asked best friends and relatives to deliver them on our behalf, we’ll shop weeks in advanec (and pay ridic shipping fees!) to mail them in time. They’ll always be an expression of love and care for us 🙂 Thanks for letting me share this story – I have to go call my mom now.
Birthday Cards are something I haven’t seen in a long time! People don’t give these anymore.. It always felt so good to get one.. and you could keep it for a long time and go back and read the good things people write for you!
How pretty and sweet! Card giving is an art that is being lost, unfortunately. I just read the other day that you should display a card until the giver comes to visit or for one month. Card display etiquette! 🙂 How fancy!
I love macarons, too…with violet ice cream. Yummm!!!
Greeting cards in general are a tradition we are losing quickly. I like leaving them out for awhile too (on our mantle) and still save the really touching ones. Like this year’s from a dear friend who told me that good friends are like good bras…supportive and hard to find!

Aw, those cards are all so cute! I’m usually not the one to keep birthday cards (sorry to the peeps who send them to me) but these I’d keep.
