Well, it looks like all that chanting I did to the makeup gods finally paid off! Chanel released a powder bronzer similar to their famous cream bronzer, Soleil Tan de Chanel.
I bought Soleil Tan de Chanel many moons ago (at least two years) and loved the natural toasty golden bronze glow it gave my cheeks. We were BBFFs (Best Bronzing Friends Forever) for about a week… Then I broke out like crazy along my chin!
I stopped using it immediately. Shortly thereafter, it got swallowed up by my office, never to be seen again… (I think it’s in a drawer.)
Chanel’s new limited edition Summer 2015 Lumière d’été Bronzing Powder ($65), looks almost exactly like Soleil Tan de Chanel on my NC 42 skin.
A few sweeps of my bronzer blush, et voila! — I see that same sunlit, toasty golden bronze glow I loved so much from Soleil Tan de Chanel, except this time without the pimples. 🙂
Lumière d’été feels soft and velvety like MAC’s epic Alluring Aquatic Extra Dimension Bronzer in Delphic, which, by the way, is hands-down one of my favorite bronzers of all freaking time. Like Delphic, it doesn’t kick up a lot of product when I run a brush across the pan, or when I dust it on my cheeks and forehead. It’s as if there are no powder grains at all — they’re almost imperceptible. Just natural-looking bronzed warmth that lasts 7-8 hours on my combination skin.
Lumière d’été is definitely warm-toned, though, so take it for a test drive before committing to it if warm bronzers tend to pull orange on your skin. It is $65, so it’s not inexpensive.
If you’re intrigued, you can say bonjour to Lumière d’été now at your favorite Chanel counter or store, and it’s also available online with the rest of the Chanel Summer 2015 Collection.

This looks SOOO gorgeous!! I’ve been wanting to invest in a Chanel product but I don’t know if I should go foundation or something else…The struggle!

It looks beautiful!
Did you try the Michael Kors bronzers? They fit the sunlit glow description and they are also super finely milled with imperceptible texture. I have Flush and it’s my HG bronzer!

gosh i don’t know if i could ever use one of the chanel powders with the flower (camellia, right?) embossing. it’s too lovely! in a dream world i would buy two–one to actually use and one to stare at.

What a looker! So pretty. But I don’t think the color would be totally right for me.

KAREN NO. KAREN WHY. KAREN.
Delphic is my all time favorite bronzer, too! I’m starting to see signs of pan on it and I’m PANicking.
Puns aside, I might have to pick this baby up as a preemptive replacement.

Not sure about the color, but the packaging and the floral embossing is just too pretty.

Oh, I adore the color! Not too bronze, not too pink, certainly not ashy. Perfection!

I thought this would get lost on me but I swatched it at the counter and it does seem like a nice bronzer. It isn’t very noticeable on my complexion but it seemed to add a nice warmth that I liked. I almost want to splurge on it lol
