I just picked up a new Canon Rebel T2i to replace my four year old Xti.
My Xti and I have been together since MBB’s early days, so I’m a little sad to let it go (I get weird attachments to technology), but it’s high time to move onto some newer gear.
A few random shots from this morning…

LOL! Oh my god, are those wild turkeys?! O.o
Congrats on the new camera, Karen 🙂 The photos look great — but then again, they always have! (I’m part of the “it’s the photog, not the camera” philosophy. If you’re awful with images but your camera’s great, the shots still won’t be any good. And vice-versa, of course!)
What’ll you be doing with your Xti baby?
Marina says
YES! “I get weird attachments to technology”. I can keep things for years just because I’ve used to them. I am horrible at getting new tech and I always miss my old things.

Love that shot of Tabs! Hooray for upgrades – my BF has the T2i and it does surprisingly well at high ISOs. 🙂 Super fun for video too! Enjoy your new toy!

That picture of Tabs is so awesome. He’s seriously going to stalk you ’til the ends of the earth. Adorable. And scary.

My boyfriend bought me a T2i for my bday back in August and I love it. It’s my first “real camera” that I’ve ever owned. I took a photo class back in high school (many many moons ago) and have wanted to get back into photography since then. There is so much to learn, but I love taking pics with my T2i. I agree it’s the photog and not the camera, but having a great camera definitely helps! 🙂

Lol, love the turkeys!

Ohmygosh, they’re all over the place! I see them at least once a day. Poor Tabs… I really think he wants to hunt them, but they’re about 3 times bigger!

I grew up in Novato and I don’t remember all the wild turkeys back in the old days, just started seeing these huge flocks of them the last few years that I worked down there. So, they’re a fairly recent phenomenon?

Such gorgeous pictures! I’ll probably get me a D-SLR soon and seeing your pictures veer me toward Canon more and more. My point and shoot is an old Canon and I also have weird attachment to it.
Karen says
I actually really love the Canon point and shoots, especially the ELPH. I think they’re fantastic cameras, and they can do a LOT if you know how to go beyond the auto modes. 🙂

We name our electronics at my house-my iPhone’s name is Dumbledore and our iPad’s name is Gilderoy Lockhart. Needless to say, that makes it harder to let go of them when their time comes!

There is a lot of turkey out there!
