Tabs on His Deck

Published in: Daily Beauty, Tabs

Tabs loves his deck garden so much. It’s really coming along now. The tomatoes have already started to sprout tiny little green tomatoes, the cat grass has grown tall, and the catnip growing inside the Tabby Command Center is also doing well.

There are different varieties of tomato plants, some basil and red peppers, catnip, cat grass, parsley, cilantro, sunflowers, zucchini, gerbera daisies and zinnia… I’m sure I’m also forgetting something.

It’s quite a nice spread for a mostly indoor tabby, and he loves spending time out there.

He spends at least 30 minutes outside twice a day. First he inspects the garden, then he does a shift on guard duty in the Tabby Command Center.

Some of his favorite things to do out on the deck are…

1. Climb all over the command center and stand awkwardly on the wooden platforms

2. Clean

3. Scratch, sniff and claw at things

4. Lounge around on the deck

5. Have a picnic in the grass

6. Mark every corner of everything with his cheeks

7. Stare up at the hanging planter in this picture (because there are actually birds nesting inside of it)

Yup, Tabs loves his deck garden!

And so do I. 🙂

How fun! I am growing green peppers, jalapenos, strawberries, spinach, carrots (for me and my dog to eat) and tomatoes too!

Oh, he is so precious! #3…those sweet eyes make me melt! He looks like purrrfect pet therapy!

My dog met a cat for the 1st time today on his walk…I was terrified there would be an altercation. He LOVED the kitty! Gave him/her kisses.

I’d get a kitty if I didn’t have to put another animal through a quarantine with an upcoming move…makes me SAD.

I love Tabs’ Command Center! I have two indoor kitties and I want to build them something they can climb that’s not our furniture. 🙂 I’m saving your photos to use for inspiration and ideas! The ramps leading to the platform are very clever. Thank you!

Just as I’m reading your post Tulip is meowing loudly because she wants to got in the backyard but it’s getting too late. I just ordered her a cat run so she can run around in it outside. They had a vertical one but I couldn’t figure out how I would get her out if she was on top

  7. Looks like Tabs keeps a very watchful eye on his garden and his plants!

On a random side note, I was in the city this morning and spotted a Tabs handbag. It was pink and green and the front was covered in kitty faces and the word ‘chat’ x 5. I had to double take, the kitty featured on it looked so much like Tabs! Tell me, Karen, has Tabs been doing any secret campaigns in Europe lately?

I love Tabs! Thank you for posting the Kitty Command Centre! My husband and I created our own based on yours (a tad shorter) and my two kitties love it! Everyone is so amazed by it and I always send them your way!

This is so great! I love that Tabs has his own space to hang out and do cat stuff. We put a bird feeder out in the backyard and the cats are loving it. I set these outdoor enclosures out on the deck and Nina and Mingus love chattering at the birdies.

So jealous of your garden! I want to grow flowers and veggies. And steal Tabs.

I love your garden! I need to create a kitty command center for my two fur babies, that is such a great idea.
