Question for you: Who waits until they’re 39 years old to play miniature golf FOR THE FIRST TIME?
Answer: This girl (*points at self while doing the cabbage patch*).
Yes, friend. Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict played miniature golf for the very first time ever last weekend in Tahoe.
And…
Wait for it…
She won.
BOOM! 🙂
Yup, miniature golf wasn’t a thing where I grew up (Union City, CA). We were more into roller skating. #datingmyself
Apparently I missed a lot, though, because it was tons of fun! I thought for sure I’d be awful at it because it involves two of my least favorite things — fast-moving projectiles (if you hit the ball too hard), and sticks/clubs, also known as things my clumsy self could possibly harm others with.
But as it turned out, I’m actually OK at it.
I even got a hole in one! — which, according to Official Miniature Golf Expert El Hub, isn’t something that beginners do all the time.
WATCH OUT, LPGA TOUR!
Oh, yeah…
I also had some sushi that same night, so maybe it was the sushi that gave me the power to make that hole in one.
But seriously (as if I’m ever), the place we went to, Kalani’s, wasn’t all that, to be honest.
When we went there the time before this trip, which was two years ago, it was bomb.
Like, seriously, a freaking Fourth of July extravaganza of explosive flavor fireworks in my mouth, but this time? Eh… My sushi looked and tasted rushed and, quite frankly, El Hub’s swordfish tasted like a boiled (and lightly peppered) flip-flop.
Oh, well. Can’t win ’em all. 🙂

I love miniature golfing. I’m glad you enjoyed it. My favorite one up to date was one created by Detroit Insitute of Art a few years ago. It was a real piece of art. There was even one “station” or whatever you call the holes, made just with Legos.

Whaaaat who waits that long to play miniature gold?! Looks like you had a blast, Karen 🙂

Woo Hoo! Well done with the golfing. Maybe you just *think* you’re not sporty. This could be a whole new thing for you! 🙂
Btw, I forgot to mention that I love the idea of Makeup and Food blog. I’d definitely be on board for that! Sorry to hear about your meal, though. Hopefully they were just having an off night.

I can’t with bad sushi! Now, doing the cabbage patch on the other hand, me can be down with. 🙂

OMG, me neither! And it was overpriced. 🙁 But eh…we had fun anyways.

What a great date night, Karen! Awesome job on the hole in one 🙂

Hi Daya,
We had a lot of fun! Vacation is the best. 🙂 How’s your week going, by the way?

Mini-golf is super fun.
Too bad about the dinner but it still sounds like a good night overall. 🙂
