Tabs and I both agree that the whole “Keep Calm and Carry On” meme/slogan thing feels pretty played out, but he has a suggestion to revitalize it…
Ha! I don’t even care if it’s overdone. I’m a sucker for colorful packaging and sans-serif fonts, so I’m all about these almost unbelievably affordable $2.50 (!) Rimmel Keep Calm Balms.
All ahead, cute factor 12. 🙂
When Baby Girl is in elementary school, if she asks for a lipstick to call her own and keep in her My Little Pony backpack, I’d get her one of these…and then I’d borrow it all the time, LOL!
They cost less than a Starbucks latte — just $2.50 each — which makes them prime targets for drugstore stress shopping, so when an obnoxious stranger at Target offers you unsolicited, highly personal advice (FYI, it happens a lot when you’re pregnant), and you desperately need something to calm your nerves, you can add one of these to your basket without throwing your monthly makeup allowance out of whack.
They’re available in five non-sticky, creamy colors, including a clear shade and four lightly tinted ones. They include clear-colored Keep Calm and Shop, pink Keep Calm and Kiss, berry Keep Calm and Rock, rosy Keep Calm and Play, and violet Keep Calm and Party.
The tinted shades are only just barely tinted. It’s a hint of color, but it’s there.
If your lips are in pretty good shape, then the formula should be sufficiently moisturizing, but I wouldn’t go further than that. In other words, if your lips look and feel like Edward Scissorhands has been massaging them lately, you’re probably gonna need something more hydrating.
These take me back, because they taste and smell like Hawaiian Punch! — which is what I drank all the time when I was a kid. We always had a bottle of the concentrated stuff in the fridge that you were supposed to mix with water (but sometimes I’d chug some of the concentrate when nobody was looking, what-what!).
The only thing is…there’s also something artificially waxy about the flavor and scent, which isn’t great, but it’s faint and fades after about 15 minutes.
I still think they’re pretty good for $2.50.
Overall, I get about an hour of wear time out of them.
If you’re interested, don’t panic! Keep calm…and head to your favorite drugstore or drugstore website, because they’re available now. 🙂
