Doesn’t it seem like the MAC Paint Pots dry out in bunches?
Or does it just seem that way to me? There I’ll be, doopdadoo, going about my business, when I’ll open one of ’em to find it dried out, and then it’s like all of a sudden the rest of them are dried out too!
I dunno. It’s weird…
On the subject of MAC Paint Pots, here are some of my old-school faves I’ve recently restocked…
- MAC Paint Pot in Layin’ Low (remember this from Fafi?)
- MAC Paint Pot in Camel Coat
- MAC Paint Pot in Perky (another Fafi shout-out!)
- MAC Paint Pot in Constructivist (looks amaze with MAC Costa Riche or Teddy liner)
- MAC Eye Shadow in Trax
Mostly, I use the Paint Pots as eyeshadow bases, but some of the shades, like Constructivist and Camel Coat, I love, love, LOVE as single washes of color on the lids and lower lash lines. Then just line your eyes with black liner, add mascara and boom! — you’re ready to party with your cat.
Or do whatever else you need to do. 🙂
Oh, and Trax? So old school, man. It was one of the very first MAC eyeshadows I ever bought (so this was about a quadrillion years ago). It’s a golden bronzy purple that — I swear! — looks amaze with Powersurge liner.
Have you restocked any of your makeup faves lately?
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

Constructivist looks so gorgeous. I am not sure why I don’t have it!! Though I do have a few brown toned Color Tattoos that I don’t often reach for….I keep meaning to pick up a Costa Riche liner too.

I haven’t been restocking per se, but I do plan on buying Coppering soon, which if I’m not mistaken is a real MAC classic and universal favorite.

I need to restock on Rubenesque, a shade I love on it´s own during the summer time and that seems to dry out very fast. My Painterly on the other hand always stays fresh for months on end.

OMG, Fafi! That was one of the first MAC collections I knew about and also my first MAC purchase. I am 99% positive that I bought the quad eyes 1 after seeing your swatches here. Memorieeeeeees.

Any advice for a paint pot rookie? I have Soft Ochre, I love the priming effect it gives my eyes, but I also feel like it’s terribly dry on me…should I put on some eye cream first?

That’s some real pretty photography!

Camel Coat seems so unique & pretty. I’ve only recently restocked my NARS concealer, Spiked brow crayon, & They’re Real mascara. I also purchased Champaign Pop (BEAUTIFUL) & a Sephora brand retractable eyeliner in Turquoise. Let’s just say I’ve been living in these products 🙂

I completely forgot I do have Trax! I need to find it and use it again!
Constructivist looks so pretty!

TRAX was my first ever holy grail, top drawer, repurchase, whatever you want to call it, cosmetic. I absolutely love that color and have hit serious pan on my 4th pot of it. Like dusting around the brim, that much pan. It’s marvelous.

I really like Constructivist and Layin Low. Those look beautiful!

I used to LOVE Constructivist but mine dried out in the pot. I’m definitely going to restock! If only MAC hadn’t gone all crazy with their prices in India lately..!

Karen, I absolutely adore you because you show me stuff that is fun and gorgeous and new to me, and that I decide I must have as soon as I can.

Laying low is such a FAB base colour! In love with it. Must remember to put it on my list of treats. Been really getting into cream shadows as a base and wow, this looks amazing and one of the few base-type colours that won’t lean ashy on me *queue applause and music*!

How funny I was just pondering which paint pot to purchase.

Love all of these. Constructivist and Laying Low are on my list! 🙂

For any dried out products, liner, paint pots, or otherwise, I use Inglot Cosmetics’ Duraline to revive them. It will also turn any eye shadow into a sheer wash or a liner depending on how much you use & the tool you apply it with. Can’t live without my Duraline!
