“Yaaar!” screeched Pirate Karen. “Avast ye, matey, is that a gel? Shiver me timbers, it looks like a gel. If that thar be a lightweight face moisturizing gel, then make it walk the plank! Because it ain’t gonna do nothin’ for me thirsty skin.
“But blimey! I’m such a curious kitty. I’m thinkin’ I’ll be touchin’ it anyway, just to see how it feels…
“Well blow me down! It’s so rich and silky. It’s lightweight like a gel, but once I work it into me skin, it feels like an oil. My sea-battered pirate skin actually feels plump and moisturized!
“There be a booty of almond, plum and rice bran oils in it to feed me combo dry/oily skin with fatty acids and omegas, and ahoy! There’s seaweed (Alaria extract) in thar too, which is supposed to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles…and ye knows I have me some fine lines and wrinkles, har-har.
“Son of a biscuit eater, I was wrong! This is beauty booty. It’s a treasure in a jar!”
Too bad it costs an actual treasure chest filled with pirate gold. A 0.96-oz. jar of NARSskin Restorative Night Treatment is $85 (yaaaar!). Good thing a small amount goes a long way. This rich gel-to-oil moisturizer is designed to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and boost skin’s moisture levels. It’s also non-comedogenic and alcohol-free. Coming September 20 to NARS Boutiques and online to narscosmetics.com; October 1 to NARS counters at department and specialty stores.
Fare thee well, ye landlubber. 🙂

I think I want it…
Karen says
Give it a go! 🙂

hahah Karen.. Loved your writing style! I definitely won’t need something like this because my skin is already oily..
Karen says
Hi Lancy,
Ahh! Maybe bookmark it for the future? I used to have really oily skin (about 10 years ago) and mine definitely changed in my 30s.

Well that’s the first time I ever saw NARS and pirates side by side… and somehow it worked 🙂
Gel-to-oil formula? That is very intriguing. I like to pick one skin care product at a time as a treatment that I spend extra money on. Typically as a mask or a serum…something I use infrequently but gives amazing results one time around. I can imagine using this new one from NARSskin as extra moisture after a heavy mask/treatment session.

HA! Thanks. Pirate Karen decided to stop by. I figured I might as well share the keyboard with her because she can be soooo bossy!
Happy Friday to you! Doing anything fun this weekend?
Kim says
Oh, you have me laughing on a Friday morning! The whole time I was reading, I was thinking “if you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball”. 🙂
This does sound intriguing, though. Is it plumping with caffeinated goodness for a temporary reduced-wrinkle look or is it supposed to keep diminishing fine lines over time? Sounds like door #1.
PS Happy Friday!!
Karen says
Happy Friday to you too! 😀
I think it’s supposed to boost moisture levels over time; not sure if there’s caffeine though!

So, I’m looking for a new night moisturizer, but does everything have to cost an arm and a leg? Yikes.

Oh, I am a big fan of gels and I love the look of the NARS product. Just wish it weren’t $85! I may have to stick to my Hada Labo Tokyo Skin Plumping Gel that costs about $20
Erin says
It sounds like a great treatment, sampling is in order!

Somehow I never associate NARs with skin “care” and cant take them seriously in that space. This review may have helped change my mind…a little bit!THanks for the intro ye landlubber!

The formula sounds pretty interesting. I want it! Why does it have to be $85 though?? Le sigh.
