Perfume in cream form.
How scent-sorily imaginative.
In all my years of perfume collecting/fragrance hoarding (seriously, I have a bottle of YSL Paris I’ve had since roughly 1991), I can’t remember ever encountering anything quite like this before.
It’s called Perfumed Creme by Library of Flowers, and instead of spraying a liquid or rubbing a solid on your skin, you work the mildly moisturizing creams into your skin like…mild moisturizers.
The fragrance is released slowly throughout the day, with the intensity based on the amount you use. Work a small dollop into your skin for a light aroma, or turn up the odiferous dial with another layer or two.
They come in a variety of scents, too. The one I’ve been wearing, Field and Flowers is a very light, clean and fresh fruity floral with apricot top notes, honey blossom middle notes wildflower bottom notes.
It smells like waking up to a beautiful sunlit spring morning… 🙂
I usually apply two or three layers of Field and Flowers because I like the scent bolder, and the fragrance lasts about 5-6 hours.
In addition to their perfumed creams, Library of Flowers also makes bath and body products, like Willow & Water Coco Butter Handcreme (which I love!). Also light and refreshing (like Field and Flowers), its notes are cut greens, flowering lotus and watercress.
Doesn’t that sound good? 🙂
I keep it near my computer keyboard for dry paw emergencies. It’s light, absorbs quickly, and it doesn’t leave my fingers or hands oily or sticky.
The texture is very similar to Love & Toast and Lollia hand creams, so if you’re a fan of either of those (I am!), you’ll probably like this, too.
In fact, the Library of Flowers brand is part of the Margot Elena empire, the same folks who make Lollia, Love and Toast and the Tokyo Milk brands.
Probably explains the familiar packaging.
It’s cute, isn’t it? And very vintage-y. They also make bath oils, bubble baths and more traditional eau de parfums.
Check them out one of these days, and give ’em a sniff. They’re at Neiman Marcus stores and neimanmarcus.com for $21 each.

You had me at “Library of Flowers” that sounds delightful! And a must try.

Hi Jennifer,
I felt the same way when I read the name. 🙂 It makes me want to collect them all, so I can have my own library of flowery scents!
I take it your a fragrance hound? What are you enjoying these days? I’m currently switching out of my heavier fall/holiday fragrances and pretty much anything light and floral has been rocking my boat.

I really like to change my fragrance for spring/summer and I am obsessed right now with Elizabeth and James Nirvana White. I’m spraying myself four times a day and I smell so good I want to take a bite out of my arm.
But I’m thinking of Flora by Gucci in Glamorous Magnolia for summer. I love the scent of magnolias. They remind me of a glamorous southern gal, which I am so not!
And I just plowed my way through a bottle of Guess Girl, which was marketed for a much younger demographic than me, (I’m 44) but it smelled so fun and sweet I couldn’t stay away.

Oooh, I LOOOOVE that particular Flora by Gucci scent. Gucci always does fab fragrances though, don’t you think? Have you ever worn Gucci Guilty? Oh my. Love it, especially for fall.
I still have to smell that Elizabeth and James scent. Thank you for reminding me!

I so want to try this now.

Sweet!

I like the concept of this! I wish Prada Candy came like this. Sometimes lotions just don’t cut it

I wanted to try out both E&J scents so picked up the rollerballs at Sephora. Nice combo to layer Nirvana White and Black. Chanel No. 5 Eau Premiere is my staple. Chanel No. 5 is too much of an aldehyde bomb for me, but love the Eau Premiere.

I read about someone else layering those two Nirvana scents. I may have to try it out. I smelled the Black and it seemed too spicy for me, which is unusual because I tend to like spicy scents. So I’ll have to try layering the two the next time I’m at Sephora. Which one do you put on first?
Jessica says
I think it depends on your preference. For day, I like to apply White first and just a dab of Black on top. This is mostly because I am drawn to white florals. For night, I have applied White on top of Black because Black alone can read a little masculine to me.

I figured it was Margot the moment I saw the packaging!

Vid never heard of this before! I have solid and spray but this is quite intriguing. I’d love to try this out, now on a scavenge to find some in scents that please me!
