My nails did NOT wake up like ‘dis. I went to bed last night with two fresh coats of Essie Bell-Bottom Blues on my fingers (along with a new base and top coat combo I’m trying, Sally Hansen Green Tea + Bamboo Strength and OPI Top Coat), but apparently I didn’t give the whole thing enough time to cook properly, because I woke up this morning to a mess of smudges and scratches.
Honestly, I should’ve known better. It was kind of dark in the living room where I did my mani, and I was bone tired, too. I was ALSO watching the season finale of Mr. Robot, so I wasn’t paying much attention to my nails (are you watching that show, BTW?).
Anywho! First thing this morning I took the whole mess off, then later today at my desk I busted out this here deep purple Sally Hansen Miracle Gel in Boho-a-Go-Go.
So, these Miracle Gels, if you haven’t tried them already, are fan-friggin-tastic. The gel formula cures using the ambient light around you, so you paint your paws with a couple coats of whatever Miracle Gel color you’re in the mood for, then pop a layer of Miracle Gel Top Coat on top, then wait about 15 minutes for the whole thing to dry. They last on my claws from 8-10 days, which is nothing short of miraculous (hahaha) for my paws (I put them through a lot).
Boho-a-Go-Go is such a fall-y color, isn’t it? I like it so far, but I have no idea what’s going on with the pinky situation in the pic below. It doesn’t look nearly as bumpy or crazy in real life. Hmm…
I think it’s just a trick of light.
Are you in the fall nail polish mood yet, or are you still loving summer colors?
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Finally busted out the moody fall polish this weekend! I went with the classic oxblood Revlon Vixen. See you April, pinks & corals!

I wore In the Lobby from Essie 2 weeks ago in anticipation of the fall but on Sunday I painted my nails bright orangey red (Essie Camera Action) as the last shout out to the summer season!

You flashed that violet camera a lot but didn’t say a WORD about it! 😮
I never used the gels bc I thought they all required that UV light thingy.

Oh, BTW I brought my UD Anniversary Palette out to play today (I do my makeup at work) and it travels perfectly in my Vice 3 bag! <3 <3

What do you think of your instant camera? I’ve had it on my wishlist for a while…

How hard are these to remove? Is like a traditional gel/lamp combo where you have to soak your nails?
One possibility for the pinky thing you have going on is a reflection or shadows of sunlight through leafy trees outside your window. Maybe?

I love that color! I have a few of the Miracle Gel polishes and they’re great. I love the wear time and how shiny they look.
To those who think these require a lamp, they dont! They just need the top coat that goes along with it and that’s it! They are also as easy to take off as regular polish.

I recently tried this brand of polish for the first time and was amazed. I never paint my fingernails because you can bet your life that I’ll have a chip within the first 3 hours, no joke! But I decided to try one of these after seeing another beauty blogger (can’t remember who) raving about them. I was seriously amazed!!! They apply really smooth and every colour is so pigmented. I ended up having to remove this polish not because of any chips, but because my nails had grown out. I also just came across fast drying drops from Essence that I want to try with this so I’m not sitting for half an hour waiting for my nails to dry.

I’m glad you posted this because I’m always curious about the wear time of the drugstore gel polishes, especially those that cure without the UV lamp. 8 – 10 days is REALLY good!
Yes, I’ve watched Mr. Robot’s first season. Do you like it? I think it’s pretty good but am very bothered by the similarity to Fight Club (one of my all time faves). The Hubs was laughing at me because I was all like “see? they’re even using the Pixie’s Where is My Mind??!! Total ripoff!!!”. Aside from the lack of originality, I think the acting is good and it’s been pretty enjoyable to watch. 🙂

I have been meaning to try these, but have been putting it off because I couldn’t decide on a color. They really last that long?

I’ve been loving those polishes ever since you recommended Rum Punch earlier this summer! I had to tear myself away from the display last week, must finish what I have! 😉 I’m wearing the classic red right now, can’t remember the name of it.
The only thing I’ve found is that the curing top coat isn’t as glossy as I prefer (although it does dry quickly), so the day after I’ll usually do a coat of Essie’s quick-dry topcoat to shine them up. It’s really a fantastic formula, and none of the nail destruction you have to go through to do a gel mani at the salon! Plus, if I let my nails go longer than a week without trimming I go crazy, so I don’t really need my mani to last longer than that.

This is great timing – I was just perusing the Miracle Gel polishes last weekend! I love the Complete Salon Manicure polishes, and was wondering what the staying power was like for the Miracle Gels – I am also pretty rough on my poor paws! Might have to go back to the store & pick up a shade or two 😀
