Last weekend I wandered into a Bath and Body Works just look around (yeah, right!) and wandered out with a few candles that were on deep discount.
These 3-wick candles were originally $20 apiece, but I snagged ’em on sale for $9 each (they’re also on sale for $12 online now, if you don’t live close to one of the stores).
Oh, the scent… Just. Like. Summer. 🙂
Lakeside’s official fragrance story: “Like the water after a cannonball, jump into an invigorating blend of fresh water, sheer musk and the perfect pop of lemon zest.”
Um, ok. I think I will.
I love the pic of the girls jumping into the water. Isn’t that cute?
Now, I’ve never stepped foot in a boathouse before, and I’ve never rowed, but if either one smells like Boathouse Row, heck, I’m doing both at least once.
I got two extras to give as hostess gifts. Bath and Body Works will even wrap your candles and tie them with a pretty bow for free. 🙂

I just bought a candle yesterday! The ‘Hawaiian Breeze’ from Glade… Actually has really great throw so i’ve really been loving it 🙂
Karen says
Ooh, I’ve never tried the Glade ones. Do they last long?
Lauren says
The little one last i’d say 10 hours, but not nearly as long as the 3 wick ones from BBW! Makes me want to try those, too.

You got me wondering about the scent now 🙂
Karen says
Oh, it smells really great. Very complex, but not heavy. Perfect for summer!
Sarah says
Oh these look so sweet smelling. *deep breath*
Karen says
They’re absolutely lovely!

I have Spiced Apple Toddy lit now because I was in an autumn mood. It’s almost out, though. I love these candles, but they burn out really quickly.
Karen says
Yum! That scent sounds delicious!

Yummy! I like some of their winter/holiday candles as well. I put them in the basement when my parents come visit and stay in the guest room down there. It really helps get rid of that basement smell and freshen the place up.
Karen says
Hi Leah,
That’s a great idea. I’m thinking of picking up a few extras to burn in the funky rooms in our house (ie, the workout room).

Boathouse Row is my fave this summer and YES it does kind of smell like a boathouse! I rowed for a bit WAY back when and it totally reminds me of it!
Karen says
Dude, you did crew? That’s SO COOL. How long did you row?

Thanks for the info!! I’m going to B&BW today to get a few of these candles! I love Mahogany Teak-wood and Boat house. Both are kind of woody and masculine.
Karen says
Hi Denise,
You’re welcome! Have fun shopping. There was a bunch of stuff on sale, so maybe you’ll find some other goodies too. Let me know what you end up getting… I might actually have to go back and pick up a few more. 🙂

I’m in love with Fireside and Snowed In from their holiday scents! Boathouse Row is one I’ve been meaning to get. I think it’s that one, it may have been the Teak one, (I remember liking both scents) just smells like a sexy man! Must buy!
Karen says
Hi Melissa,
Ooh, the teak one! That one smells like a sexy dude. I got a coupon while I was there last week and might have to go back so that I can use it and pick that one up. 😀 Boom-chica-wah-wah!

Hi! I love the candle with the girls jumping into the lake–reminds me very much of an artist named Jessica Alpern [if you google her name & ‘paint chips” you can see some of her stuff]. She makes these gorgeous little silhouettes out of paint chips [and other things]–she had a piece called ‘in our summer skin’ that had 4 classic summer scenes that is one of my faves. Oh, and the design she chooses ties back to the name of the paint [like ‘Sprinkler’ is a girl jumping through a sprinkler]. Anyway, she’s worth checking out, I think most anyone would like her stuff. 🙂
Karen says
Hi Sandy,
Thanks for the heads up. I love that pic so I’d probably really dig Jessica’s work. I’m off to the google machine…

I am having a B&BW 3-wick candle addiction moment right now! Have you smelled Gelato?!? It’s so pretty without being overly sweet! I need to smell Boathouse Row and Lakeside!
Anna says
Hey Karen! I used to work at a BBW so I had the pleasure of sniffing and working around all the candles for over a year 🙂 They change up parts of the collection every season and some of my favourites are Peach Bellini for spring/summer, Leaves for the fall and Frosted Cupcake and Winter Candy Apple for winter. In the winter they have a bunch that smell like different blends of spices… Anyway. I’m not a huge candle person but I have a stock of the mini ones for when I’m in the mood.
