El Hub calls these my @ss-kicker boots. 🙂
He usually hates my shoes, but these have earned the Husband’s Stamp of Approval — a coveted prize — because they have been deemed “practical for the zombie apocalypse,” unlike most of my other footwear.
I got these casual black Sam Edelman Darwin Boots for myself as a Christmas gift and have logged quite a few miles in them over the past couple weeks.
They’re comfy AND versatile.
Ya know, versatile for boots.
They’re also purposefully distressed, so they come with scuffs on the toes and heels, which I know isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but it’s one of the things I like about ’em.
They do run big, so if you try them on, I’d suggest going down a half size. I usually wear a 7 but got these in a 6 1/2, which fits perfectly.
I like the color, too. It’s so totally ’90s! Just add a plaid shirt.
You can find them now at Nordstrom stores and online at nordstrom.com, samedelman.com and zappos.com.
They also come in Ivory (white) and Clay (tan).

These are so cute!! And very zombie apocalypse appropriate! I just started wearing combat boots this year and man I wish I started sooner! They’re so dang comfortable and cute! I’m more of an accessories gal so I love how they funk/edge up an everyday look. I bet I could kick a zombie’s head clear off with some kick ass combats lol

These boots are kick arse!! But they look too “perfect” for my taste. May have to run them over with my car to get the distressed look lol.

These boots are amazing.

Love them! I have a weakness for tough, edgy boots, especially if they have studs or spikes.

I ***LOVED*** stomping around in A$$kicker boots and granny dresses back in highschool in the 90’s. I rocked that look, Courtney Love style! Haha!!! Love boots are fab. Great choice, Karen! Relive a bit of the grunge era.

well, I may be dating myself here but I’ve been wearing combat boots since the late ’70s early ’80s. In my opinion, you can never have too many boots or lippies. LOL (and yes I still rock my docs)
I love these and am on my way to check them out in white. I’ve always wanted white docs like buffy wore. Maybe these will work. I think I have a similar pair in black – notice I said think? I remember them but for the life of me cannot find them. There I go (aging myself again LMAO).

These boots are perfect. I like the convenient zipper on the back. I shall see if I can find them in my part of Canada. Cheers!
