There’s an outdoor path that takes you through a small wooded area and a park right outside the salon where I got my bangs trimmed today, and the flowers were too pretty to pass up, allergies be damned.
I missed what I think were either gladiolas or daffodils (all that were left were the leaves), but the poppies (they’re our state flower) were in full force. Man, they were putting on a show!
So much bright orange… I also managed to capture a bee doing his/her bee thang in one of ’em.
I love this time of year, even if my itchy nose doesn’t. Did I ever tell you about the time I went to an allergist to find out what I was allergic to and the doc did a skin test that left my arm completely lit up like a Christmas tree? Because apparently I’m allergic to every kind of tree, plant and grass.
When it’s sunny and beautiful like this, though, I don’t really care. I’ll deal with the allergies. It’s worth it.
Are there any flowers blooming yet in your neck of the woods?
P.S. Happy Friday night, my friend. I have the best view right now. It’s of a huge bowl of microwave popcorn (mixed with TJ’s caramel popcorn), which I’m about to devour while watching Top Five.
Devouring starts in 3-2-1… 🙂

Over here, the flowers just started to bloom, like Crocus, Snowdrops (these for about a month now) and recently Osterglocken (I don’t know the english name).
Very slowly, the cherry trees start, too.
I can enjoy this time of year without troubles, my allergies kick in around June/July…

Yesterday I saw just the beginning of a hyacinth bud poking its way out of the ground…

Oh I am so jealous of your sunny weather and blooming flowers. No signs of here yet. In face, it was snowing yesterday with temps of 25 degrees.
Speaking of snack, my husband got some coconut tortilla chips from Costco yesterday- yum!

Maybe I’m dumb, but I thought poppies only came in red. This is pretty.

These are the classic California Poppies, the state flower of California. The gold color is the natural wildflower color, but other colors are available from seed companies.

We don’t have any poppies blooming here yet but there is a nice embankment of them here by the beach.
I remember when I was a little girl before the Sacramento valley was nothing but houses. There used to be lupine and poppies everywhere.

Your flowers are beautiful. We had a high of about 20 today, but it felt like nine with the windchill. Still have snow on the ground, so no flowers for us for quite a while.

Beautiful poppies – beautiful photos. Happy spring!

Due to late cold fronts, spring was delayed in my area. Redbud trees are blooming (about a month late). Cornflowers are blooming. Daffodils are almost completely done for the year. Grape hyacinths are blooming now.

Love Poppies. We have azaleas here. Everything is coming alive now. At night, low 50’s and 60’s. Days are 70’s and 80’s. Beautiful. Love your photos!
