I feel like this eye look with MAC Swiss Chocolate Eye Shadow is more fall than spring, but eh, whatcha gonna do? Sometimes, the body wants chocolate, and when the body wants chocolate, YOU GIVE THE BODY ?? CHOCOLATE, lest horrible consequences ensue.
I don’t know why it occurred to me today (CHOCOLATE, CHOCOLATE, CHOCOLATE), but I got this idea to wear Swiss Chocolate shadow with Heroine Lipstick from Sam at Pixiwoo (don’t you just love her?). She wore them together in a video a few years back. On her lighter skin tone, Swiss Chocolate looks reddish brown, but it leans a little more purplish on me. I think it’s a lovely color.
I didn’t follow Sam’s tutorial to a T because, ya know, I’m all ’bout that improv life, but I tried to maintain the “essence” of the look… I just put my personal Karen spin on it. 🙂
Main things I’m wearing…
Eyes: MAC Paint Pot in Soft Ochre (as a base on my lids), MAC Brule Eye Shadow (on my lids and under my brow bone), MAC Swiss Chocolate Eye Shadow (crease), MAC Texture Eye Shadow (upper crease), Chanel Stylo Yeux Liner in Noir Petroe (water lines and lash lines) and NARS Audacious Mascara (lashes).
Cheeks: NARS Sun Wash Bronzer in Laguna (my cheeks, around the edge of my face and across my nose) and Hourglass Ambient Blush in Mood Exposure (apples of my cheeks).
Face: A mix of BECCA Backlight Primer and NARS Velvet Matte Skin Tint in St. Moritz, MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural Powder in Medium Golden and Make Up For Ever HD Concealer (under my eyes).
Lips: MAC Matte Lipstick in Heroine.
Should I have added false lashes? Hmm… I kinda wanted to, but I felt like it would have been too much look.
Also, I may have been the most unintentionally glamorous mom (or the most overdressed mom, depending on how you look at it) at the pediatrician’s office today because Connor had to go in for a checkup (she’s fine).
She’s at the point now where she comprehends what happens sometimes at the doctor’s office (like cold instruments, cold tables, shots), and she gets extra needy and concerned when we’re walking in. She clings to my neck and won’t let go! ? Sometimes I have to calm down more than she does.

Heroine looks lovely on you. I may not be able to pull this shade off as beautifully as you. <3

Aww, why not? It seems to work on a wide range of skin tones.

I love Heroine! I’m always looking for an excuse to wear it! I remember watching Sam’s tutorial a few years ago and thinking “I could never pull that off!” But I have worn this look since and I love it!

That’s awesome. Do you use a lip pencil with it? I skipped it this time but might try it the next time I do this look.

Sam always comes up with these edgy looks, I love her tutorials. Very inspirational. There is no shame in being the most made up mom, I have worn red lips to swimming lessons and a glittery smokey eye to the playground. You just do you.

I am going to have to steal this look.

When that tutorial came out years ago, I ran to MAC to buy HC and Heroine, only to discover that Heroine was limited edition. They day they made it permanent I cried tears of joy, and recreated this look right away. Love your rendition of it, Karen!
