When the Bobbi Brown master class wrapped up yesterday, I zipped back down to the beauty department to look around…
And I have no doubt I could have remained there, happily playing and chatting with makeup artists. (Like Courtney, who’s awesome and works at the Laura Mercier counter. Go see her if you ever stop by.)
But alas, I only had enough time for a quick lap before heading home, so the first thing I did was pick up one of Bobbi Brown’s Foundation Sticks, which Marc really praised in that master class.
Then I flitted over to the Chanel counter to sneak a peek at the new Revelation collection (10 Glossimers and a Le Vernis Nail Colour in Taboo).
That was all it took for me to conclude that I needed to get Taboo in my life — like yesterday.
WOW, right!? It’s like Vendetta times a thousand!
Yup, now I know one of the things I’m doin’ this weekend (getting Taboo on my paws).
With a bottle of Taboo in my purse, I pranced over to the Molton Brown display. They had some bath and body products that looked neat, and I decided to treat myself to their Heavenly Gingerlily shower gel.
I’ve gotten a few small bottles of Molton Brown shower gels in GWP sets before, and they’ve always been amazing. Flotillas of foam, complex, interesting scents, and I remember them being good cleansers and leaving a fresh fragrance on my skin.
Heavenly Gingerlily reminds me of the way Hawaii smells after it rains. 🙂
I glanced down at my watch and saw that I had just enough time to swing by Giorgio Armani and Dolce & Gabbana to pick up a few samples…
I’m pretty excited about trying this stuff. My weekend just improved.
I’ll let ya know if I find any gems, of course.
Have you been to the mall lately or any cool department stores? What’s been your best experience at a makeup counter lately?
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

LOVE the Taboo nail polish! It looks like it has a lot of depth and dimension. Kind of reminds me of galaxy nails…
Karen says
Hi Eva,
Totally! There’s galaxies in that bottle. 🙂
Do you have Chanel Vendetta? It’s another great one.

That Chanel nail polish looks SO snazzy. I can’t indulge in pretty colours, yet. I’m limited to Sally Hansen, as a treat.
Oh, my word. For some story foundation, I was told not to go to this mall when we first moved here. It has had a sketchy past, and the ladies that gave the welcome class told us to just avoid it. But it’s the only mall that has MAC inside a Macy’s, that isn’t on the Strip! (oh geez, I avoid going to the Strip. Driving anxiety!)
I was greeted by a lovely, made up lady named Aricele (spell?). My objective for this visit was to make a return, and peruse red lipsticks. I soon found myself in a chair, waiting for her to gather the correct concealer shade for my under eye circles. She chatted with me about California, and gave me some suggestions on where to get good eats in this town, and to definitely visit the downtown area for some culture.
Long story short, I left Macy’s with a smile, a list of places to try with The Man, and my first MAC brush, concealer, and foundation. (yikes to my wallet!)
I’d visit that mall again. It doesn’t seem too bad. Maybe I just miss the ghetto-ness of home. 🙂
Good night!
Karen says
Aww, that sounds like a lovely afternoon you had. I see that you didn’t pick up any red lipsticks. Maybe for your next trip? 🙂
camille says
Oh, yes, I am definitely planning a day to just browse red lipsticks, and shoes. I know it’s a time consuming task, for either, so I have to plan a whole day of gallabanting around town. (yes, I spelled gallivanting incorrectly, on purpose. Every time I hear that word, in my head, it’s pronounced exactly how my mom says it. 🙂

My most recent trip was to my local JC Penney’s Sephora to redeem a birthday gift certificate. I picked up one of the Illamasqua speckled polishes in Mottle (the green one, of course). That’s going on my paws tomorrow since it reminds me of Easter candy!

PS. Im NC 40, will the stick foundation honey fare well on me? Thanks!

I am curious about those Armani Fluid Sheers, let me know how they work. I am heading to the mall today so I am def going to stop at Sephora and maybe get some samples…But what to get??? 🙂
Sunny says
Taboooo!!! I was told the new glosses are nice too, like intense juicy ruby red! Not that it’s the best season for red, but for juicy glosses I could reconsider 😉

Taboo looks awesome! I haven’t bought anything by Chanel yet. My last trip to Sephora or a department store was back in January when I went to Georgetown. I visit the Ulta up here in Frederick from time to time, and now that I know UD has some new stuff out I may visit it soon. I definitely want to pick up the All Nighter Spray to keep my makeup in place better and some of the new permanent line 24/7 liners.

Crap, now I want to place an order somewhere or go shopping!
Taboo looks gorgeous in the bottle!

Taboo looks uber awesome. As for myself, I really enjoyed a visit to Givenchy counter this month, the girls were very nice.

I’m tempted by the Bobbi Brown foundation sticks… It’d be so convenient, since I don’t usually wear foundation all over.

I went to see the new Tyler Perry movie at the mall yesterday, it was pretty good. So I stopped by Macy’s and picked up a bottle of my Shiseido night moisturizer. I brought a cute red blazer on sale.I might go to Sephora later want to try the new Nars creamy concealer, always searching for my holy grail concealer. Happy Easter to those who celebrate!
