Hi, ladies. 🙂 Here’s mine:
- Concealer mixed with Origins GinZing Eye Cream
- Waterproof Mascara
- Tinted moisturizer and powder
- Blush
- Lipstick (because wind + sticky lipgloss + hair flying all over the place = yuck)
I figure that if rain is coming down sideways and splattering all over my face, I should keep my makeup easy and low-maintenance — something that won’t require too much effort to touch up.
How ’bout you?
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen
P.S. Six hours from now I leave the house bound for Blog World in Las Vegas. It’s a conference of bloggers from around the world with sessions on different things like video podcasting, technical topics like how to host a website, social networking (Twitter, Facebook, etc.), monetization (advertising and whatnot) and various other blog-related stuff.
Consequently, I might be covering different things over the next few days (the conference runs through Saturday)… I’ll probably mix blogging tips and advice in with makeup/beauty — things I learn at the conference. But, as usual, I’ll also be on the prowl for beauty booty to share. 🙂
Kajal Couture says
Ooh I am excited to hear about what you learn at the blogger conference! I hope you will share some tips that the rest of us can use. =)
BTW Vegas has a massive Sephora and a MAC Pro store….which you probably already knew. =)

Hm… Waterproof everything I guess. 🙂 Although I prefer a darker shade of eyeshadow. Is there such thing as a waterproof eyeshadow? I wonder…

Have fun at the conference, Karen! Can’t wait to hear what you have to pass along to us ^^
We don’t usually get a lot of rain (it’s usually now up here, whoo!!) but when it does rain, I usually just wear primer mixed with foundation, curled lashes, tubing mascara, and blush 🙂 And powder, of course, if I don’t end up using an oil-absorbing primer.
.-= Rae’s last blog post… That’s a lot of eyeliner. =-.
Kate & Zena says
Hmmmmmm, I don’t change my make-up routine much for rainy/snowy/sleety/windy/generally NASTY days. The only big change is I don’t put on lipgloss until I’m inside school (particularly windy days). Then it’s lipgloss mania. I hate my lips dry or without lipstick/balm/gloss. I must apply the stuff twenty times a day. I speak better when my lips are moisturized. I go psycho.
I can’t believe I have more essays due next week. I thought I was out of the Seventh Ring of School Hell for a few more weeks. Even Zena is sick of watching me on the computer!
Shivotra says
skin – bare
eyes – liner
lips – i like to use bright, highly pigmented lipgloss – like russian red from MAC or cherry burst from lancome to cheer up dull rainy days. i don’t like rain in north america. In asia, however, its another story 🙂
Byrd says
My rainy day make up routine is pretty basic.
I use a nice moisturizer all over and touch up the UGH! spots with a creme/foundation mix. Powder all over, no blush, heavy mascara (waterproof, of course!), a sweep of goldtone mineral shadow.. and lip conditioner.
have a great time in vegas girl!! 🙂

Isn’t it wonderful how most conferences/conventions are held in Las Vergas? I love that idea. Have a great time Karen!

Hope you have fun at the conference! I can’t wait to hear about it. 🙂
I’m a sophomore in high school and so far, haven’t had to wear too much makeup to school. A few times a week, I go with some subtle eyeshadow and then some mascara. Plus a bit of BareMinerals when my skin is red. The rest of the time, I go bare, lol. I’ve been learning a lot of great tips from MUBB though, so when I actually have time in the mornings, I experiment! (Though not too much…yet)

San Francisco weather is as unpredictable as it is insane. And taking public transportation leaves little room for dry feet, let alone a dry face.
So I go for some serious water/smudgeproof liner, (Urban Decay in Zero) and a nice and bright lips pencil. (New face Beautique Lip Crayons from Sally Beauty, it was like $1.49!) Before I head in somewhere, I stop by the restroom and dust on some Mineral Veil, (Bare Escentuals) which freshens me up and helps me get ready for anything. Oh! and lots and lots of lotion…because bad weather is so bad for skin.

Rainy days are all too familiar on the Wet Coast. Oh well, that’s what life is like when you live in a rainforest. I use MAC Studio Fix all over, Benefit Brow Zing, a blush of some sort, a champagne beige eyeshadow, MAC Blacktrack fluidline and whatever waterproof mascara I happen to have. Have fun at Blog World!

I wear Urban Decay 24/7 liner, waterproof mascara, concealer and set with MSF Natural. I would wear MAC Paints (tube) on my eyes as they don’t run or smudge and I would wear lipstick instead of a sticky gloss. Can’t wait for your tips from Blog World, I am I baby blogger as I have only started about 1.5 months ago. 🙂

I hope you have a lovely time in Las Vegas:-)
My makeup does not change with the weather, here in Denmark we have way too much rain for me to adapt my makeup to that:-) I love changeing my makeup routine, but I don’t do it because of the weater.

Hope you have a safe trip and have fun!
I guess I don’t really change my makeup for rainy days. I tend to wear hoodies though 🙂 Recently it has been raining so much here, and today it’s raining again. LAME.
Jen says
On rainy days, I usually wear no makeup at all. *shocks* Hey, can you blame me? I get lazy… plus, sometimes it’s nice to feel the rain hit my bare face 🙂
Have fun in Vegas!
NINA says
Enjoy your conference, Karen! 🙂
For my rainy day make up – I keep it light and barely there. So a light tinted moisturizer (I use Stila), set with some MAC MSF Natural. Posie Tint for my cheeks.
For my eyes – I do a one color + liner look. To make my eyes pop, I use a contrasting shade of eyeshadow to line the top of my liner.
After im done with my eyebrows, I set with a mineral veil and im good to go.

Mascara (Covergirl’s lashblast) and lip balm (i like burts bees beeswax lipbalm, palmers cocoa butter lip balm or vaseline 😀 ). my skin looks bad with any type of colour on it- the olive- yellow undertones (mediteranean parents)suit NO colour of any foundation/ blush/ bronzer. sometimes i’ll fill in my brows (just a brown eyeliner- im planning to replace it with a real brow kit soon lol).

My routine on rainy days is very simple: mascara and some lipbalm. Only if I have an important meeting I will use a serious makeup, but when I see that’s raining outside I’m not in the mood for makeup 🙂

I’m on a new blush kick. Never really wore it except special nights out. I tried the new Philosophy cream blush and loved it but not the price tag. I picked up the Sally Hansen Carmindy cream blush the other day — it has a similar sheer feel. It was grey and rainy yesterday and that little bit of rosy cheeks really picked me up. It’ll be my new rainy day must have. Add some tinted moisturizer (LM right now), waterproof mascara (Maybelline Define-A-Lash), and some Bobbi Brown gel liner and I’m good to go. Oh wait, lip balm. Losts of lip balm.
ines, felix and kitten (the office kitties) says
rainy day makeup: bobbi brown pot rouge in powder pink set with a bit of powder blush in slopes on top (no shimmer – the humidity will make my skin dewy anyway) – this prevents it from running. eyes: leave it very simple, highlight the brow bone a bit with NARS the multiple in copacabana, a wash of taupeish eye shadow like benefit creaseless cream in birthday suit or bobbi brown shimmer wash in heather mauve/fawn, curl eyelashes and apply waterproof mascara (my favorite: dior diorshow iconic l’extreme waterproof in black).
exciting about the blog conference… i’m a bit of a blogging newbie, but i want to go to one of those…

My friends from high school still get a good hearty laugh about my 9th grade rain-day makeup routine. It was basically same as ever, but without mascara. We’re talking fully made-up eyes, blush, powder, lipstick… just no mascara. Not the wisest of choices for a fair-fair-fair-skinned, traslucent-blonde-eyelash kinda girl like me… at least I can laugh about it now! 🙂

Oh, well i live in the Pacific Northwest, so i know how the rainy weather is LOL! When it’s raining, I normally put a primer under my foundation and powder. Then eyeliner and waterproof mascara. I skip lipgloss, like you said, my hair would be sticking to my mouth like crazy! then i would do my cheeks normal.
penelope says
my rainy day look consist of the usual
face lotion
eyelash curler
eyelash separator
vaseline

It honestly doesn’t change. FOTD always depends on how much time I have and the mood I’m in. Since I know my face won’t melt off I suppose I am a little more confident with heavier makeup if I am feelin’ it.
