What’s Your Current Favorite Lip Product Combo?

Lately, my lips and I have been loving this little pink combo here. It’s a combination of three different products, pale neutral pink MAC Pro Longwear Lipcreme in You’re Perfect Already, bright yellowish pink MAC Lip Pencil In Synch (in In Synch?) and baby pink bareMinerals Marvelous Moxie Lipgloss in Show Off.

I dunno… I feel like I’ve been more adventurous than usual with my eye makeup lately (than usual for me, LOL!), and so I like my lips a little mellow so that they don’t end up overwhelming the rest of my look.

This combo here? Pretty mellow, and I like that it’s neutral enough to wear with warm or cool eye colors.

First, I line with In Synch, feather out the edges with a finger, and apply a layer of MAC Pro Longwear Lipcreme in You’re Perfect Already directly from the tube.

Then, after blotting with a tissue or, sometimes, with the back of my hand, I apply one layer of bareMinerals Marvelous Moxie Lipgloss in Show Off.

That’s it! And one of my favorite things about this triple play? None of the products dry out my lips.

  1. Thats an awesome combo… looks like they were made for each other! lol

What did you use for eye makeup here?

  3. Love this! It’s very simple and pretty. Makes a noticeable difference without overwhelming the look–I really like it! My current favorite lip combo is a tiny dab of Jack Black lip balm to prep, Burberry Lip Mist in Field Rose (LOVE this!), and a tiny bit of CoverGirl lip liner in Spice (I believe) just over that so it doesn’t create a pigmented line, but still adds a touch of definition. Et voila: a semi-glossy nude-rose lip that goes with literally everything!

    That’s a really pretty look!

Not exactly a combo, but lately I’ve been using a bright pink Clarins lipstick (Joli Rouge in Raspberry, very opaque) as a stain and added some Rosebud Salve on top. (and even using the lipstick as blush, thank you Lisa Eldridge for the tip!) We’re not having a real summer so far here, so bright lipstick doesn’t feel quite right. But at least I’m using those lipsticks that were staring at me, and I’ve actually been getting compliments on the look!

Time to start adapting that method to bright pink + nude lipsticks..

  5. Love this combo on you! I’ve always suspected In Synch would make me look too dead, but whenever I see it on you I find it way nice, so maybe I can get away by pairing it with the right things!

I’ve been really lazy. I grab one lip product and that’s about it haha. No pairing or combo for me!

This is such a nice combo. I normally don’t wear a lip liner (because I’m lazy). My favourite combo lately has been Lipstick Queen’s Jean Queen lipstick (a lipstick that is supposed to be worn when you wear denim – how could I not get that? :)) with a little bit of MAC’s Deelight cremesheen lipglass in the center of my lips.

NYX lip pencil in Natural topped with Faces Glam on lip-gloss in Fill which is a very pale shade

I’m currently really loving pairing Dior’s Lip Glow with YSL’s Rouge Volupte in Lingerie Pink!
It makes a killer combo :)

Not a combo but ive been abusing the heck out of NARS Barbarella lately! I just love how soft and pretty it is!

  12. Kim says:

That combo looks great on you. You know I have nothing to add here since I can barely remember to put any lip product on (and if it requires a mirror, I almost never wear it). Still, I can definitely appreciate your suggestions!! :)

  13. NeenaJ says:

Really lovely on you. I’m typically not big on layering lip products. Lately, I’ve been favoring my L’Oreal Caresse (or whatever it’s called) in Sunset Angora.

Is this the By Terry blush again? Please tell us what’s on your cheeks!

  14. Liz says:

L’oreal Color Sensational lipstick in Blushing Brunette with MAC Cremesheen Glass in Double Dare over it.

  15. Rachel says:

My job requires me to work outdoors, so I use an SPF lipbalm under MAC lipglass (currently Cult Fave).

    En Rouge+Glossimer 166 or a cpl. swipes of a chubby stick/Fresh lip treatments :).

  17. We know I have waaaay too many lip products, but lately I’ve been loving:

    1. MAC Subculture Lip Pencil with MAC Ravishing (Cremesheen) Lipstick – makes a bright but not garish peachy-coral that I can totally wear to the office

    2. Bobbi Brown Pale Pink Lip Pencil with Clinique Beauty Long Last Lipstick – makes a perfectly polished, pink-brown that totally screams professionalism and competence (looks good with white collared blouse with a pencil skirt and pearls).

    3. Korres Pomegranate Lip Butter all by itself – nice pink-coral for summer that’s sheer and casual. It’s a bit of a pain though, because it comes in a pot. Also, the dog ate one – apparently it smelled really yummy to her.

    • I would just like to add that lately I haven’t been feeling gloss at all – I’ve been working in a pretty conservative environment and too-shiny is a no-no (and it’s been a pain touching up gloss when you’re dancing a lot, and you just want to forget about your lip color and keep dancing).

  18. Summer says:

Gorgeous! This looks amazing on you! I have pigmented lips and have a hard time finding the right colors to pull off this look. I’ll have to give these a try. Thanks for sharing!

  19. Amy H. says:

I love the pale pink lip!! It looks great!! Lately, I have been in love with Clinique Chubby Stick in Heaping Hazelnut with a swipe of Clinique Gloss in Bamboo Pink on top. It makes the perfect pinky-nude lip for me!! I actually went out and bought back ups of each shade because I seriously don’t want to run out!! Thanks again for all the beauty info and ideas… :)

  20. jess says:

my favorite combo is MAC sail la vie with MAC evolution revolution on top!!!

    love your website!!! :)

  21. jess says:

oo I also love my Loreal Caresse lipstick in Blush Sequin. its killer! its a slightly sheer and shiny lipstick! no gloss needed!

  22. I don’t layer products on my lips often but I loved a combo I had tried a while back – Bourjois lip pencil in Rouge Soyeux + Loreal Paris Infallible lipstick Bold Bordeaux. Add some lip gloss and you have a killer red lip!

I like that combo a lot! Lately Benetint + Evolution Revolution has been my go to lip look.

  24. Megan says:

Today I am wearing NARS flamenco lipstick topped with NARS lipgloss in scandal. It’s a really pretty summertime red combo!

  25. Lorraine ER says:

I’ve been loving the Revlon lip butter in Red Velvet with the Korres fuschia (54) lip gloss over it. I sheer out the lip butter a bit first. When the glossiness wears off there’s a nice stain left behind!
