Satin Breathes Life Into These MAC Nudes From the New MAC Nudes & Metallics Collection

MAC Nudes & Metallics: Wholesome Lipstick

Wearing the Nude shades from the new MAC Nudes & Metallics collection

First things first: I have accidentally typed the words, “MAC Nudes & Metallica,” one too many times this afternoon.

Second thing: get your butt back in that chair! I know, I know… Another neutral collection for eyes, lips and cheeks?!

But check it. There’s an Olivia Pope-esque elegance to the nine pieces in the MAC Nudes sub-collection, so don’t whip your ponytail just yet. These are the kinds of neutrals I’d wear to a corner office gig if I had a Prada and Gucci budget.

Nudes, the quieter neutral half of the new MAC Nudes & Metallica Metallics collection, is available now exclusively at MAC Pro stores.

The blush and the four splendid, expensive-looking eye shadows feel soft, like tracing fingers across silk sheets, and the satin finish breathes life into the sheer pink and tan shadow shades, each of which comes in a warm and cool tone.

As for the four creamy Lipsticks, MAC’s Amplified finish gives them a slight sheen that’s sure to garner some attention (although if your lips are very pigmented like mine, you might want to blank them out first with concealer to accentuate the nuances among the colors).

Are you ready? Let’s get Nude…

MAC Nudes & Metallics: Eye Shadows in Bare Minimum, Body Conscious, Glimpse of Flesh and Exposed

Wearing Eye Shadows in Bare Minimum, Body Conscious, Glimpse of Flesh and Exposed on my eyes, Barefaced Blush on my cheeks and Wholesome Lipstick

I don’t really consider the Nude collection “no-makeup makeup” because even though these shades are neutral, I still feel like I’m wearing color on my eyes, lips and cheeks. I like that.

I do lurves me some colorful makeup, though, so I’ll probably weave in a rich lipstick or a couple of eye shadows from the Metallics sub-collection when I wear these, to spice things up.

Nudes may not make your heart skip a beat if you’re into bold, brash looks that push boundaries, but hey, if we were chatting over fro-yo and you mentioned that you wanted to wear makeup but didn’t want to go the uber-natural Bobbi Brown route, I’d suggest this collection, for sure.

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

Oh wow, Wholesome looks a lot paler on than it does swatched! Don’t think I can pull off any of the lipsticks too well, but Glimpse of Flesh and Exposed look like something I’d happily wear.

  4. LOVE those shadows. Glimpse of Flesh and Exposed need to be mine NOW! :P haha! No really though I love nudes like that. They almost seem to have a bit of a mauvish tone to them (especially in the pan) and anytime any shadow contains a bit of mauve, I am SOLD!

I love these neutral looks. And love your hair. I’d love a tutorial on how you get the pouf in front!

  8. Everything in this collection is so pretty – not every shade will be flattering on all, of course, but they’re all really lovely colors, and the quality looks lovely. I wish these were permanent additions instead of a hard-to-find LE release! Why, MAC, why?

I’m definitely not a fan of nude lipsticks (not flattering on me) but this is a really nice look for you. :)

In other news, it’s almost Friday. Oh, and today is a Bourbon day. I’m liking the little, gold-glitter sparkle!

These eye shadows are really nice, but I’m not a nude lipstick girl.

    Karen,
You look fabulous in these shades and with your hair half up! You are SO photogenic; you do not take a bad picture!
I like these shades on you, but also I like the brights on you.
And thank you for mixing it up in your poses, not like another Bay Area blogger (ahem) who never changes her poses…yours are more realistic.
    Cheers!

Hi Karen, I may have missed it but could you please tell me EXACTLY what you are wearing on your eyes and cheeks. I really want to know the color placement for each eyeshadow. Lastly, are there any dues for the eye and cheek colors? I LOVE THIS LOOK YOU CREATED. Thanks!!!
