Yes, using Urban Decay’s $29 All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray involves adding another step to my makeup routine, and no, it’s probably not as essential as under-eye concealer.
Buuut, that doesn’t make me like it any less. 🙂
If I were going on a big trip (say, lattes and macarons in Paris with RyGos, seeing as he’s on hiatus from acting) and accidentally forgot it at home, would I be crushed?
No, I think not.
Probably not. Okay maybe a little…
With the weather warming up and the days getting longer, I have been whipping out this makeup-saving spray mist more and more often. A few spritzes postpone fading and keep my makeup on my mug longer.
And it’s just so refreshing! — like standing in the mist beside a tropical waterfall…except without the mosquito swarms, frizzy hair and bikini muffin top, of course.
Stuff locks my look down all day long. Like, say it was the morning of the zombie apocalypse…
I’m just staying, for instance. 🙂
If it were that day, and I remembered to spray this on first thing in the morning, I’m confident that my foundation, powder, blush, eyeshadow and bronzer would still be going strong when the biters finally took me down that night. (Side note: last night’s Walking Dead? Merle?? Daryl? We need to talk.)
All Nighter has been out a while, but I only started using it last month when a makeup artist at Sephora spritzed it on my face after she finished doing a Valentine’s Day makeup look on me.
Ten hours later, I was shocked! My makeup still looked fresh, and I’ve been hooked ever since.
In the mornings right after I finish washing my face, I head downstairs to the kitchen and start brewing my coffee.
When I reach in the fridge for the vanilla almond milk, I also grab my chilled bottle of UD All Nighter (makes it that much more refreshing).
I close my eyes, hold my breath — because although it’s unscented, I don’t want to accidentally inhale it — and spray four spritzes in an “X” and “T” formation all over my face.
Then, back in the fridge it goes.
From that first sip of coffee in the morning till my last sip of Sleepytime tea at night, All Nighter’s on the job, keeping my makeup where it belongs.
If I had to come up with something about it I’d change, I don’t know, maybe the name? I might call it All Day-er instead, because the last time I pulled an all-nighter that wasn’t due to insomnia was roughly 10 years ago.
Hahaha! No, I am not always in bed by 9:30… Only once or twice a week.
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

I love the idea of this! It’s been on my “to maybe try someday” list, but with hot Atlanta summers creeping into the picture (someday soon right?!?), this would be a really handy tool to have in my bag o’ tricks! Thanks, Karen! 🙂 And happy Tuesday to you (here it’s 12:32 a.m.)!
Karen says
Happy Tuesday to you too, Kristen!
I’ve never been to Atlanta, although I’ve always wanted to visit. It gets pretty humid in the summer, right?
kristen @ glambunctious says
Oh yeah, lady! Humidity is Atlanta’s middle name in the summer months (Apr-Aug)! If you ever do get a chance to visit, bring your best blotting powder and plenty of UD setting spray! 🙂

I love this stuff. I have a heart condition that makes me sweat easily, and this really helps everything stay in place all day, even in the summer.
Karen says
Hi Chelsea,
I remember you mentioning a while back that you loved it! Have you tried the other two sprays? I’m going to give those a go next.
Chelsea says
My skin’s quite dry, but I’ve used a sample of De-Slick, but it wasn’t suited for my skin type. Next time I buy, I’m going to get the Dew Me one!
Karen says
Isn’t dry skin such a pain? I get red patches on my cheek and chin and it’s just so painful sometimes. I can’t wait for summer…it all seems to get better then!
Denise S says
I have and like the All Nighter spray a lot, does exactly what it claims to do keep your makeup on all night. I was sorry to see Daryl die he was a nuisance but entertaining. The Walking Dead will kill off a main character in a heartbeat!
Karen says
Hi Denise,
I was surprised that Daryl went out doing something that helped the group and his brother. It was nice to see do something for someone other than himself, you know?
Darbie says
Hmmm.. my friend got a mini of this as a sample and said don’t bother….I think I might just bother now. Thanks!
Karen says
Hi Darbie,
Bummer that it didn’t work out for your friend. Maybe give it a try next time you’re at Sephora. 🙂
Melinda says
I love this! I got a mini size from the Urban Bride box given around my wedding day, I spritzed it in the morning and at night when I got back home I witnessed everything still in place after about 13 hours, and that’s saying lots more than it does considering how oily my skin is. 🙂
Karen says
Hi Melinda,
Amazing! When did you get married?
Steph says
It has a special place in my heart as my first UD product, which was part of a wedding gift from a friend!
Karen says
How nice! I wish I got makeup for my wedding day.

Karen! (i think of “kare bear” when i think of people named karen. do you despise that nickname?) just looked this product up on the sephora site. is the label different? i have a bottle of ‘all-nighter’ and it has some cool nighttime city background thingamahjigg. i bought it when my friend got married, and i wanted my face to look awesome the whole weekend. LoL. AND IT DID! a bit of shine peeked out, throughout the days, but my make up looked fantastic. I’ll have to try putting it in the fridge. summer is approaching, fast, here in the desert, and anything from the fridge is such a relief. happy tuesday!
Karen says
Hi Camille,
They re-did the packaging a while back. I remember the spacey bottle — it looked cool. This white one’s a bit more sophisticated, but it picks up fingerprints like CRAY!
Yeah, I have a bunch of beauty products sitting in the fridge, LOL! Eye rollers, body splashes, this stuff…it gets hot here where I live in Nor Cal and the cold sensation feels just so good, especially first thing in the morning.
camille says
Yes, Nor*Cal! When you post pictures of Bay Area adventures, it makes me miss home, even more. I’ll have to designate a special corner of our fridge, just so the man doesn’t poke around 🙂
vineetha says
This One I have to try! Everyone seems to agree!! 🙂
Jennifer says
I’ve never found a spray that actually makes things stay where they should but I have tried a lot! Will have to look at this!
Lorraine says
I remember when Ulta did a crazy deep discount on this during the holiday season. cult fans of this product stormed the stores in search of the HG. I was impressed to see such loyalty for a product like this. BTW, your mani rocks! Colors, please?
Olivia says
Love All Nighter!
Karen says
I bought this probably a month ago in preparation for the hot and humid summers Michigan gets. It always makes my foundation and any form of makeup slide right off my face- the heat, that is! Not this product! I haven’t tried it in the summer yet since although it’s officially spring, it still feels like winter here. I’m hoping this will be my savior in the heat that’s coming slowly but surely.
Carla says
I use and love this too! I’ve tried both the regular “all-nighter” and the “de-slick” oil-removing one. I like the all-nighter featured here best. The other one didn’t remove enough oil and didn’t last quite as long so it didn’t earn its keep. So I say go with the original. This product really is worth it!
Sylvia says
Karen, what kind of finish does this leave on your skin? Have you tried the dew me version?
Kim says
I’m currently netflixing and I’m only on Season 2, ep 4 right now so I can’t dish about the current eps. Of course, I should have known better and skipped the comments since I just got a (sad) major spoiler, while quickly scrolling to the bottom. Darn my quick reading skills. 🙂
