I’ve been having one of those Mondays where everything’s been going…great!
Don’t you just love those?
They’re few and far between, let me tell ya, but I’ll take it. Some Mondays I don’t feel ready for the weekend to end or for the workweek to start, but I’ve been in in a pretty good groove so far today.
I don’t know, maybe it’s the heat… It’s almost 90 degrees Fahrenheit in Novato right now!
Seriously, I think it’s making me loopy because I’m smiling from ear to ear… 🙂
I was watching a mama bird feed one of her little ones in the oak tree by my window this morning as I applied under-eye concealer and randomly started singing, “The hills are aliiiiive, with the sound of musiiiiiic!”
The concealer was Bobbi Brown’s bad@ss Peach Corrector. My dark under-eye situation has been triple-rainbow intense lately. I’m officially in my (gulp) late thirties now, and the purplish, bluish dark circles under my eyes have become something of a mainstay of my looks, haha.
Shoot, last night I even got 10 hours of sleep — 10 GLORIOUS HOURS! — and I still woke up with dark circles.
Thank goodness for Bobbi’s $23 miracle working Peach Corrector…
A creamy, opaque color-correcting concealer designed to be layered beneath your go-to under-eye concealer, it’s great if you get those real deal, Uncle Fester-caliber dark circles like moi. I use Peach, one of 16 shades in the line.
SHAZAM! It’s like waving a magic wand over my face. When I add it to my mix, I think I definitely look refreshed and considerably less tired, and that whole under-eye sitch looks brighter.
Most of the time I just wear it on its own with powder dusted on top (versus underneath another concealer), and it neutralizes the purple action. Heck, when I use it I think I even look a little younger (says the girl turning 38 in a few weeks, le sigh!).
I use a flat eye shadow brush or my fingers to apply it, and then run a tapered blending brush lightly across the top and along the edges. Then I set that with plenty o’ powder.
That’s it. Keeps my circles hidden for 10-12 hours.
The long-running Unsung Heroes series features some of my favorite permanent collection products from a variety of bodacious beauty brands. 🙂
If you’re lighter or darker than I am, you might want something other than Peach. If so, here’s a handy color guide…

I’m so glad you mentioned this, Karen. I use it every day in the shade Light Peach. The peach tones really help counteract the blueness of circles. If anyone has the dreaded “blues” they should probably not follow the chart and go with the peach tones instead.
Karen says
Hi GRLNXDOR,
So glad to find another gal who swears by this product! 🙂 Do you wear it alone, or layer it underneath concealer?
grlnxdor says
I wear it as my concealer. Only eye cream underneath. Sometimes I’ll put powder over, but I have to be careful cuz I’m “older” and I have those pesky fine lines.
Chelsea says
It’s a great product. They put me in the Porcelain bisque, which should work since I’m definitely quite fair, but I need something a bit more pigmented, I think – I have really dark blue veins on the inside of my eye – my skin is see-through, LOL!
Karen says
I bet you could use this with a tapered brush like the MAC 224 to cover your blue veins. LOVE THIS STUFF. I swear the peach covers EVERYTHING.
Are you still liking your Bobbi Foundation Stick? 🙂
Chelsea says
I’m not using it as much right now, but it’s a great product!
Karen says
I haven’t been using it that much, either. Right now I’m on a MAC Face & Body kick!

Chelsea,
I LOVE Bobbi’s corrector! I worked for the line for about 10 years and was an Educator in the Chicago market. A BB makeup artist trick is to use Extra Light Bisque under your Porcelain Bisque. IF you set with powder, use white instead of Pale Yellow to keep the color the same. If you would like to warm it up, use her magical Pale Yellow powder. xo

I like the range of shades they offer 🙂 When I saw the pan pictured my immediate reaction was sadness, but hey they offer lighter shades too! yay!
Karen says
Hi Lauren,
Yup, Bobbi’s always so good about doing a wide color selection!
Have you tried her Foundation Stick yet? It’s AMAZING!
xuvious says
I use Peach as well, I just love how creamy it is! 🙂
Karen says
Hi Xuvious,
Yes! What do you usually wear it with? Or do you just use the concealer alone?
Lancy says
Natural tan or warm natural would be my perfect match. Nice review Karen 🙂 I love the smooth texture of this corrector.
Karen says
Hi Lancy,
Thanks! Do you wear it alone or underneath another concealer?
Gowthami says
Natural and warm beige is good … 🙂
Karen says
Definitely!

This is one of those products that I really want to love, but I find it too drying. It makes my under-eye area look older. *yikes*
Karen says
Hi Danielle,
What do you use to apply it? Have you tried your fingers? I’ve noticed that adding the extra warmth helps to melt the product a little more.
Krystle(Baking Beauty) says
I could really use something like this. Concealer tends to settle into my fine lines and make things look worse! Also thanks for the handy chart I think I’d be around warm ivory
Karen says
Hi Krystle,
Have you tried playing with the amount of eye cream you use before applying concealer? Reducing the amount of blotting beforehand might help to stop the creasing. Also try setting it with powder. That might help too!
Anee says
It was my holy grail last year. But then it started settling into my fine lines. Tried all sorts of ways to apply- brush, fingers, beauty blender. Didn’t work. And setting it with powder would dry my under eye area and make me look older. Had to let it go!! (I used the peach shade. We are very similar in complexion which makes it so easy for me to follow our recs :))
Now I use Nars creamy concealer. So far so good but it still does accentuate hose fine lines. I think I need to target those lil lines!!
Best,
Anee
Yelena says
i haven’t tried this before but I do have a general concealer question… What kind of powder do you set your concealer with and also is there any sort of primer for under eye concealer to make it last better for us dry skin girls? ya know the kind that wont make your concealer settle into fine lines and make it more obvious that you are wearing said concealer…
I experimented with putting UDPP as primer for my under eye concealer yesterday and it was an absolute DISASTER! yikes!
Karen says
Hi Yelena,
I usually use MAC Careblends Pressed Light Plus. I prefer powders that don’t look heavy, and Careblends does that for me. You could try using a primer made specifically for the under eye area, like MAC Prep + Prime Vibrancy. I like it a lot:

Also, you could try changing the ratio of your eye cream. Sometimes using less eye cream helps to decrease creasing. You might also want to try blotting the area first. That might help.

Hi! (super late, I know) I’m extremely fair with pretty neutral undertones and just-got-punched-in-both-eyes hereditary dark circles. I’ve been using a bisque corrector for a few months now and was wondering if you think the peach is more effective. thanks!
Darlene says
THANK YOU for the BB color chart! I’ve been on the fence b/t bisque vs. peach for my corrector.
