My Movie Night Lip Look Starring Clinique Black Tie Violets

Things I’m crushing on this weekend…

That there at the top is the Black Tie lip combo I wore to the movies last night. :)

I went with Defining Liner for Lips in Pomegranate ($14) layered beneath Different Lipstick in Different Grape ($14), and for extra sparkle and shine I added Full Potential Lips Plump and Shine in Bloomberry ($18).

It made the movie easier to bear, LOL!

As far as the colors and finishes of the products I used (to dupe them with other things from your collection), the combo breaks down to…

  • A shimmery reddish blue lip liner
  • A creamy violet lipstick
  • A lipgloss in a shimmery pink

I’m picturing the look with thick black cat eyeliner. Wouldn’t that look hawt?

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

P.S. Did you do anything fun tonight? I just got back from pizza, and now I’m looking for a brainless movie on iTunes. Tabs says “meow.” He wants me to get The Ugly Truth. He loves those romantic comedies…

What a gorgeous pink! It’s amazing how the color of the lipstick really changes when it’s layered under the gloss. And I totally agree on the black eyeliner, that would be hawt :D
Ugh, I worked today. How’s that for fun?! But I’m going to Sephora tomorrow for the first time in – gasp! – two whole weeks! Seriously, I think that’s the longest I’ve gone without visiting Sephora. Ever. :P

I have always wondered if the Clinique Full Potential Lip Plumps actually plumped. I have two of them from recent GWP’s but I don’t want to open them yet… I already have sooo many lip glosses opened & unused, I don’t want to waste mine (yet). It looks like it give you the perfect shine & sparkle though without being overly glossy. Sigh, now I’m going to open one of mine!

I knew this would happen the second I saw the pictures, I want all of this collection. The colours are the exactr type of thing I go for.

I think thats the most gorgeous shade of pink, so pretty and perfect for a casual night out.

Did you and Tabs decide on a movie? I had no idea he was such a little movie buff!

P.S – Don’t you find those toe-socks weird? I bought some but I didn’t like the feeling of something between my toes all the time.

I’ve seen the Ugly truth a few months ago and I was in a such a good mood after :) I love the creamy violet color, I think it may be an alternative to my pink lipgloss, to much pink is enough even for me:)

  12. Jane says:

BTW , you tempted me to buy the UD show pony box…are the colors really wearable ? Can you do look based on that ?

  13. Toni says:

Very pretty! Love the look on you! Is the Clinique gloss sticky? I love glosses, but most are really sticky. I did try the MAC Dazzleglass Cream gloss last night and it was a lot less sticky than my Baby Sparks Dazzleglass, but I’m still not in love with it. I might try the Cremesheen Glass next time I am at the MAC counter. I did return the Laura Mercier glosses from the Sephora F&F sale. So far, my cheap Jesse’s girl lipgloss is the best non-sticky gloss I have found.

I went to the mall for a little while last night and then came home and read books from the library, while hubby watched Bama play football. I love football, but they seem to do badly when I am in the room! LOL! So, I go in another room and read!
