Perhaps you’re a forward-thinking gal — one who likes being prepared for the next, next big thing. You’re not gearing up for summer makeup. No, you’re ready for fall!
You’ll hear the crunching autumn leaves beneath your feet while wearing one of seven plum and berry shades in Milani’s new Color Statement Lipstick line. Each tube’s just $5.49, bursting with pigment and perfect to pair with your rich fall makeup looks.
Of course, you could wear ’em now, too… No reason to wait six whole months for fall. 🙂
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen
P.S. Hope you had a great day today. It’s almost Friday, and I CAN’T WAIT! 🙂

OMG!! I am so glad I am going stateside in a month. Makeup is like crazy cheap (even highend stuff – compared to here). The cheapest lipstick I can find in sweden (which is truly bad quality) costs at least twice that. I am gonna stock up big time!!!
Love the blog and all your tips – My must-read every morning! <3

Hi JaNelle,
Did you pick up any of the Milani berry/plum lip liners to go with your lippies?
Yay for awesome drugstore finds!

All those colors are so flattering on you! I like Sangria and Chilled Brandy the best. How’s the smell of these lipsticks? I couldn’t tolerate the smell of them in the past.
Karen says
Hi Keyana,
They do have a very lipstick-y scent. It seems to fade quickly, though.

I just got “Uptown Mauve,” and love it.
It’s considerably deeper than what I typically consider “mauve,” which Merriam-Webster defines as “a moderate purple, violet, or lilac color,” and which I’ve always thought of as a mid-tone muted medium pink with strong cool tones.
“Uptown Mauve, though, is a decidedly deep color, sort of a dark purple-raspberry pink. For me, NW15/brunette/green eyes, it hits that “sweet spot” that makes it coordinate beautifully with purple, while being pink enough to avoid that dreaded cyanotic look. In fact, every time I wear this shade I can count on getting compliments, both on my lipstick, and on how “pretty” I look.
Uptown Mauve applies smoothly, is generously pigmented, feels comfortable, and lasts admirably for a conventional lipstick.
As for the scent, this lipstick has a fairly strong sort of fruity-melon smell/taste that I find easy to ignore and actually vaguely pleasant. It *might* bother someone more sensitive, though.
As far as I’m concerned, as long as Milani’s around, there’s no need to even look at higher-priced lipsticks, most of which aren’t cruelty-free.
It might get Billy Joel singing “Uptown Girl” in your head – that’s the only possible drawback.
Keep up the great work, Milani!

Hi Monica,
Such a gorgeous shade! What do you like to wear with it? With rich purples like these, I like to keep the eye makeup soft.

Wow, Karen, I’m so not ready for fall! I do love the colours that Milani is bringing out, amazingly pretty! And that top you’re wearing goes so well with it!
Karen says
Hi Teri,
Me neither!! It’s still technically winter here, LOL!
