Good morning, glory. 🙂 How did you sleep? I’m sorry I haven’t touched base in a while, but I was mostly offline last night. El Hub found inexpensive tickets (thanks to a TravelZoo Weekly 20 deal in their free email newsletter) and took us to the symphony! We watched Duncan Sheik sing alongside the SF symphony orchestra. Not something we do very often, but it was nice to unwind. We got all dressed up, too (so did he!), and then had a quick dinner after the performance.
I wanted to take pictures, but you’re not allowed during the performances (something that’s rarely stopped me from trying, ha!). I did sneak this one innocent iPhone shot though: tuning their instruments.
Back to makeup and beauty — I spent part of this week playing with Sephora’s new Tokidoki Prisma Lip Gloss. If you love cute packaging AND Tokidoki as much as I do, here’s a video with some closeups and observations. I have reservations about the gloss itself, but I’m such a fiend for cute packaging!

Karen your bog is incredibly awsome. I love your being happy, your being full of zest for life – very joyful for people who watch your videos. And the product looks interesting. I now want to see more videos from and with you.

Okay Karen, you’ve really got me loving Tokidoki. I’ve ordered the Bastardino palette from Sephora and can’t wait to get it; I’m hoping you’ll do a FOTD with that palette. Now I have to have a gloss, file and that cute tin of mints. And those cactus friends figurines are too cute for words!

LOLL love that last bit of your video. The packaging definitely caught my eye, but good to hear your feedback on the staying power and pigmentation. I was eyeing the green one, but I think I’ll go for a more pigmented shimmery green gloss instead

What a cute MBBTV! 😀
Youre on a roll, pretty girl!!!
PS – I got a lipstain marker today – in Sunset. Its the one that suits my naturally pigmented lips the best. I also got Viva Glam Cyndi – and I LOVE IT!!! Im in <3!!!

I love nearly ANYTHING Tokidoki! Every time I see the Bastardino palette I crave it more. Student loans, why must you make me so poor?!

Hahaha, Karen, you’re sooooo cute!! Glad you and hubs had a fun time at the symphony last night!
I spent a really long time swatching all the tokidoki glosses yesterday and couldn’t be moved to buy one… I think I may end up buying Strawberry Latte even though it’s practically clear just because I love the character so much. I wish they were all as pigmented as Monkey Pirate and Rocketeer! (Rocketeer is actually a lovely purplish berry, just not a color I wear very often.)

Thanks for doing the video, it was nice getting so much information about these because I was really considering it. I’m thinking not so much anymore… maybe juicy tubes instead ><

You did the Bird at the end. That, and the japanese-inspired tokidoki lead me to this:

You are welcome.
If you can suggest a natural, long-lasting drugstore brand product to this gloss-N00B I’d be so thankful. My cousin hooked me up with some Estee Lauder Flamingo (this natural coral with subtle gold undertones) that I in love with.

“natural” = natural looking, not like I have patent leather lips.

I’m obsessed with your blog… such an overused term now, i know, but it’s really true! I have NO need for these glosses, but now I HAVE to try that green one… the packaging is too cute!
