I love the way I feel with MAC Warm Soul Mineralize Blush on my cheeks…
I feel good, and by “good” I mean that feeling you get on a sunny day when you’re out walking in just jeans and a t-shirt, or “good,” like when you and a friend share dessert someplace on a lazy afternoon, and you both know each other so well that neither of you really feels the need to talk just to fill the space.
Comforting, natural and effortless. That’s how I feel with Warm Soul on my cheeks. It’s as if it was always meant to be there — like it was just waiting for me to find it, and when I did, the puzzle pieces fit.
Is it weird to feel this kind of connection with a golden beige powder blush?
If it is, I can’t say I care. 🙂
Warm Soul is the blush I’ve been waiting for — the one that works with errrrthing, that doesn’t get in the way of whatever eye or lip makeup I happen to be wearing, and yet has enough to stand on its own two legs when all I want to do that day is lightly fill in my brows, curl my lashes and apply a little concealer and gloss.
That’s how I wore it yesterday when El Hub and I made a last-minute Target run before The Walking Dead (which I thought was awesome, BTW).
I had less than five minutes to get ready. Only enough time for minimal makeup (“Brows, lashes, lips,” to quote Jeremy Renner) and to sweep Warm Soul on my cheeks.
Gotta love not having to do any elaborate blending or having to deal with any patchiness. Just a few swipes on each cheek, and it’s all good.
I think it’s also a great everyday color — one that almost anyone can wear — because its golden beige color falls smack dab in the middle of the pigment pack. Not too dark, nor too light, too cool or warm. It’s just right.
It lights up my face with natural-looking, sun-kissed illumination without competing with whatever else I may (or may not) be wearing. Dress it up with a winged liner, or dress it down with a little lip balm. Whatever your mood, Warm Soul just works.
I think it also pairs well with summery peach, pink and coral lip colors — or even reds and nudes.
Keep it in mind this year as you look for blushes to wear with spring and summer eye makeup. I bet it’ll look amazing with shimmery summer colors like bronze, gold and teal. 🙂
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

I always wonder how it will work for me. I’m currently wearing BB Warm Honey Foundation. So, I’m darker than you. I wonder if it will show up well. What do you think, Karen? It looks great on you.
Karen says
Hi Liz,
You can wear this shade. It may take you couple layers though, and it would probably be more of a winter/early spring color if you tan in the summer. You can always layer it with something like MAC Margin or Sunbasque. That would be super pretty too!
Bee says
WOW- I need this! Over indulgence is one of my faces too…. you have awesome skin Karen!
Karen says
Hi Bee,
It’s one of my fave Cremesheens. 🙂 What do you usually like to wear it with?
Alison M says
I think of Tarte Exposed when I think of a blush soulmate. Although I’m rather fickle when it comes to blush, Exposed has never once left me wishing I chose something else.
Karen says
I like that color too! Glad you’ve been able to find your blush soulmate. 🙂
Kellie says
I just picked this up yesterday!!! I went to MAC and asked for a suggestion of a springy, shimmery, peachy blush and the girl that was helping me immediately handed me warm soul. I love it! I am much lighter than you (NW10) and it still works. I also picked up saddle eyeshadow to fill in my brows. It was a fun trip!
Karen says
Yay, Kelly! I’m glad you had such a fun trip to the MAC counter. So great to hear that Warm Soul also works for a lighter gals in the NW category. 🙂
What brush are you using to filling your brows?
Ankita@corallista says
It looks gorgeous on you Karen!
Karen says
Thank you, babe! Have a nice week.
Rhea says
Such a great effortless color
Karen says
Hi Rhea,
It definitely is. I hope you give it a try sometime!
Deanna says
I need this blush in my life! I don’t have a lot of time to get ready in the morning, so a fool-proof blush is a necessity. It looks so pretty on you, Karen!
Karen says
Hi Deanna!
Thank you very much. 🙂
I feel you on not having a lot of time to get ready. These days it always feel like I’m rushing out the door. I get like 10, maybe 15 minutes tops, to put on makeup. How long do you typically have to get done up in the morning?
Deanna says
I usually have around 15 minutes, too, during the week. I hate rushing, though, so on the weekends, I give myself as much time as I want to get ready. 🙂
Michelle @LipstickRules says
Hey Karen, thanks for the reminder about Warm Soul. I have this and haven’t given it much love. I will tomorrow! Now…what did you think of the Walking Dead? Who took Beth?!!!
Karen says
Hi Michelle!
The last night’s episode was excellent. Do you watch Talking Dead afterward? If you don’t, you should start! It is so good.
Natalie says
You look so fresh and beautiful here Karen! This blush looks gorg, I think I’ll have to grab one the next time I’m at MAC.
Karen says
Hi Natalie,
Thank you, girl! If you end up picking Warm Soul up, I’d love to see a pic! Send one to me so I can see. 🙂
Gowthami says
The color looks super gorgeous on you Karen 🙂
Savannah says
Karen you’re so gorgeous! This look is soo beautiful! The blush is lovely on you but unfortunately macs mineralized products don’t work for me. Is there a nars dupe? I’m feeling less than fantastic, I’ve managed to catch some cold and I look pretty shittay lol. I’m definitely replicating this look with what I have when I’m better <3
hanna says
I love the color!
Bella says
How would you say this compares with Hourglass Ambient Lighting blush in Mood Exposure?
Danielle says
This is one of my all-time favorite blushes!
Erin says
I wonder how it would look on someone as pale as I am?
Sylirael says
So beautiful 🙂 And the blush is nice, too!
It’s wonderful when you find that one thing that goes with everything! Variety is nice, as is contrast, but sometimes you just want to be able to throw something on and know it works no matter what.
Chelsea says
This really is a gorgeous blush on you, but I’m loving the sparkly eyes!
Morgane says
Hi, how does this compare to milani luminoso baked blush? I have been looking for something natural, warm and peachy but I don’t want to buy it if it looks too much like luminoso. Thank you!!
Fathima says
yaaay,,, this is my HG blush and the most used one.. you are right I can pair it with any lipstick and lipcolor!! its really awesome ..
Karen, thank you so much for your lovely blog,, I always enjoy reading your topics.. keep up the good work,, you never disappoint me with any product that I bought from your recommendations,,, I trust your reviews.
Julee says
Hi, Karen. This reminds of how Leighton Meester glowy make up. Any idea how to achieve this? http://samgandtheblog.files.wordpress.com/2011/08/leighton-meester-at-philip.jpg
Karen says
Hi Julee,
Are you referring to shine she has on the apples of her cheeks?
Julee says
Shine and that subtle bronzy cheeks? Can one achieve this with one product? This year I really want to own minimum makeup products. : )
I use Becca shimmering powder in Rose Gold, but I think it looks little too metallic.
Karen says
You might be able to do it with Warm Soul (depends on your skin tone of course). You also might want to try something like Hourglass Ambient in Radiant Light! It has that bronzy, sunlit quality and subtle shimmer.
Julee says
Thank you so much, Karen. I will definitely check it out at Sephora & MAC asap. Someone also recommended Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Powder. OMG! So many choices.
Karen says
You’re very welcome! If those two don’t work for you let me know — I can give you other suggestions. Hopefully we can find something that works for you!
Julee says
Hi, Karen. Have you seen Chrissy Teigen’s makeup? http://mac.h-cdn.co/assets/cm/14/49/480×728/5483159252dcd_-_cos-01-wedding-makeup-chrissy-teigen-de.jpg
Stunning. She always look like a glowing bronze goddess.
yaya says
Hi Karen. What brush you use to apply the blush? Tq
Christina says
You look great! I’m getting both the blush and lip gloss. My skin is almost same as yours, but a little darker. Always looking for easy natural looking makeup.
