Picture it: another dimension beyond ? our own, where brownie calories don’t count.
Actually brownie, ice cream, cake, doughnut and pie calories… And doughnuts.
Did I mention the doughnuts?
Also, the cats there clean up their own litter boxes.
Yeah, it’s amaze-balls. 🙂
But, sadly, this is not that dimension… In this dimension, brownie calories do count (boo!); however, for what it’s worth, there is an Extra Dimension of new blushes and highlighters open right now at MAC (yay!).
Behold! Introducing a new collection of MAC Extra Dimension Blushes and Skinfinishes (highlighters)
Yup, it’s a new collection! The MAC Extra Dimension collection of blushes and highlighters is available now with 11 blushes ($28 each), three highlighters (the Skinfinishes, $33 each) and a couple of $35 brushes (the 127 Split Fibre Face and 128 Split Fibre Cheek), all of which are proud new members of the MAC permanent line.
Extra Dimension: MAC’s preternatural powder formula
The blushes and highlighters come in MAC’s fan-freaking-tastic Extra Dimension formula, and can I just say that I’m super stoked about that?! Ever since the Extra Dimensions showed up as blushes, eyeshadows, highlighters and bronzers in limited edition collections a few years back — Gosh, remember Alluring Aquatic? I nearly lost my damn mind. — I’ve been in love with the formula. The Extra Dimensions are among my favorite things in the entire history of the MAC line, ever.
They feel and look a little like the NARS Dual Intensity Blushes, where the powder looks very dense — almost hard-packed — but they feel softer than a cherry blossom petal. And when you run a finger across a pan, you pick up a lot of product.
Wonderful wear time
I love them for so many reasons, including how soft they feel, but they’re also incredibly long lasting. When I apply a little on my cheeks in the morning, I know I’ll still be wearing blush at the end of the day.
Powerfully pigmented
And the pigments are perfectly potent, but not excessively so. I can apply one layer of either the blushes or Skinfinish highlighters, and easily buff out the edges with a finger, which is, you know, basically a lazy makeup girl’s dream scenario.
Soft-focus sheen
Let’s get real, though — these are all about the sheen. THE SHEEN. Both the blushes and highlighters create a soft, opalescent glow that isn’t super frosty, so they don’t emphasize mah pores!
Also, with the blushes, it’s almost like you’re getting a blush and a highlighter in the same pan.
Petite powder particles that hug the skin
Gotta give a shout-out to how natural these look. I dunno…but one of my issues with the MAC Mineralize Skinfinishes and Mineralize Skinfinish Blushes, which are, I would say, closely related to the Extra Dimensions in terms of pigment, shine and wear time, is how big the MSF particles are. I can see them sitting on my skin, but I can’t see the Extra Dimension particles.
Similar to pricier products at Hourglass
The blushes remind me of the Hourglass Ambient Blushes (which I adore!), and the Skinfinishes remind me of the Hourglass Ambient Strobe Powders. They have a similarly soft, pearly sheen that doesn’t look harsh.

Such a relief that they are being permanent, I want to try one, but just can´t justify the purchase right now. Kids and houses and such stuff.

And….CLEAR COMPACT LIDS ARE BACK?!?! 😀
Karen says
Haha, I thought the same exact thing! I wish they’d bring that packaging back for the Mineralize Skinfinishes.
Christine says
EXACTLY. Especially for the MSF. I would include a whole bunch of them in my pro kit (because then no need liquid/cream foundation to go bad) if they were easier to spot. 🙁

Karen do you have a favorite out of these? I’m NC42 and I want them all but have to settle for two.

I’ve been all about the shiny blush lately, so I’m intrigued! Bit surprised there’s not a more fair highlight though. Maybe they will expand the line in the future.
Valentina Chirico says
These blushes look all well pigmented and luminous.
The colour selection is very appealing and Wrapped Candy is def the one for me 😉

Hi! Finally NARS arrived in Greece, I want your opinion, NARS Luster or MAC Fairly Precious? (light to medium skin color, neutral to warm undertone, I placed the MAC one and it gave me a nice glow, over MAC Peaches blush was more noticeable). I didn’t went to see in person, the NARS Luster, yet. Thank you for your time.
