No, your eyes aren’t playing tricks on you. For once, I’m not wearing pink lipstick, LOL!
Spotlight is one of three lip colors ($12 each) in Flirt’s Glamourazzi Extreme Lip Lacquer line. A peachy bronze with a touch o’ sparkle, Spotlight has staying power and lots of shine. I applied it before leaving for work this morning and didn’t have to reapply for four hours! It even lasted through the turkey wrap I had for lunch. The brush pen tip makes it easy to apply in a rush, even when I’ve got one sandal out the door.
Surprisingly, the formula doesn’t dry out my lips, so I don’t have to worry about paying the price of flakey, peeling lips that usually accompanies long-wearing lipsticks. It’s a bit sticky (not as much as MAC lipglass), but I don’t mind. It’s unscented, too, which I like.
For the record, I haven’t forsaken pink. Never! This is just a temporary calm in the pink lipstick storm…
Flirt is exclusive to Kohl’s stores, so find it there or online at Kohls.com.
Woo hoo! Work’s done so it’s time to play! I’m off to dance class. We’re doing a routine to a reggaeton song, and I literally cannot stop moving once the music gets going. The routine’s really tough for me. I hope I can keep up.
Any plans for tonight? I hope you had a great day.
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

Oh that’s a really nice color. Too bad we don’t have this brand here. Haha hey Karen, it’s such a small world. The other girl, Ping from Malaysia is my classmate. Haha.
Glosslizard says
What beautiful sparkle! That color looks perfect for summer!
arwin says
Agree with Fie. We don’t have this kind of brand in our country. Nice colour tho…
TUPRNUT says
Love this color on you! I have 20% off at Kohl’s right now – so, something to add to my to-buy list, I guess! 🙂 My lippie collection is out of control but I still don’t feel like I have enough. It’s probably because I have a bunch of lippies that are really similar in color.
Ping. says
nice colour and shimmer! hehe oh ya, Fie and I was sorta checking your blog in the class! such bad students we are.. haha and such small world.
Karen says
Hi Fie,
It’s a small world, wow! How funny that you two would meet on a blog halfway ’round the world. That’s kinda amazing!
Karen says
Hi Glosslizard,
Oh yah – this color would look really pretty with a tan (and a pina colada in one hand!).
Karen says
Hi Arwin,
It’s pretty, yah? That’s too bad you can’t get it in your country, but I bet you gals have a few brands that are fab that we can’t get here in the US. 😉
Karen says
LOL, you and me both, Tuprnut. My lipstick collection is BURSTING. The weird thing is I can’t stop! 🙂
I have a lot of pinks (LOL) and coral colors. I think I need more nudes and browns…
Karen says
Hi Ping,
Get back to studying! J/K!!!
Lilan says
Love the peachy color on you! It makes me yearn for summer already when spring is just arriving 😉
Have fun at your dance class, it’s sounds like a lot of fun. I’m heading out to a happy hour after work tonight to celebrate three of my coworkers’ birthdays! Wowsers!

Class yesterday was great. I got my sweat on and didn’t fall on my arse too many times, ha!
Have fun tonight at your parties!

Hooray for sparkly, neutral lip colors that aren’t pink! I too have a bursting lip gloss/stick collection and nearly all of the colors are a shimmer pink with gold tones. It seems that no matter what I do when I shop for makeup, I always gravitate towards the sparkly pinks. Thanks for sharing this great new color. (change is always good!)

It was a great time! I’m back in Texas and enjoying the family and catching up on that mom stuff I was away from. 4 days is a LONG time away from home when it comes to kids and family. 🙂
Girl, lippies…I have to admit something, I used to not be a huge lipstick fan, but just…one day something clicked, and now…I’m going to be honest and say that the cup is overflowing when it comes to my lippie obsession. Is there a support group for this??

Hi Katherine,
Speaking of shimmer pinks with gold tones, do you have MAC Nymphette lipglass? It’s my all time favorite pink shimmer with gold!
I tend to gravitate to the same colors too!
Karen says
Hi Shimmer!
Glad you made it back safe. Janice told me you two were going to LA and I so wanted make it to meet you gals! I’m sure we’ll run into each other one of these days…
Four days is a long time! How many kids do you have? I don’t have any (yet) but I like to count my husband as one, LOL.
Okay, the way you feel about lipstick is the way I feel about blush! It never really did anything for me but then Blushbaby came into my life and I was like WOOO HOOO, I found my makeup calling! 🙂 But yah, my lipstick cup is overflowing as well. I am to the point where I can’t really keep track of colors because there are so many; I am tempted to put my pictures of swatches in a binder near my makeup table!
Shimmer says
ahhhh that’s what I should do! I should make just a digital then a print catalogue of all my stuff, and put the album in my armoire for reference when I’m having a brain fart!
I’ve got four kiddos, ranging from 5 to 15, and three dogs, and the husband, so I came home to a very…um…bouncy…house. 🙂
blushes. *sigh* Like I need an excuse to buy more makeup right?

Hey Karen,
I don’t, actually. I only have one MAC product (gasp! I know) and it is Lustreglass in Flusterose. I wear it every day with everything because it’s just the perfect subtle pink shade. However, I’m going by our local MAC boutique tonight and I’ll check out Nymphette (I also want some of their fabulous new blush shades)

Shimmer,
OMG, you’re one of the hottest moms I know, seriously! I never would’ve guessed you had teenagers from your pics! Wow! How do you stay looking so young?
I am having a MEGA brain fart right now. It’s been one of those mornings!
Karen says
Hi Katherine,
I’m going after work to get some Beauty Powder Blushes, too! Woo hoo!
Nymphette is SO fab. I wear it in the spring when I have more of a tan. I barely have to do anything with it, too. It’s easy to wear and just brightens up the face instantly.
Shimmer says
oh wow, thank you. Um. Well. You say that and I’m sitting here in soffe football pants and a climbing t-shirt with a scarf wrapped around my head, so maybe right now I’m not so super glamorous LOL.
I’ve been bad, I’ve been in the sun lately, and last night I talked with a cosmetic surgeon I climb with and he scolded me. The best thing any of us can do is wear sunscreen!
You and me both babe, it’s been like that all day, and tomorrow doesn’t look too much better!

I like it – it’s really pretty. I agree about the tan and a pina colada too. I’ve never bougyht makeup at Kohls. Have you tried other things from there or just this?
Katherine says
Megan,
I have the Good Skin Sheer Color makeup (more like tinted moisturizer, I guess) as well as the Good Skin powder in Translucent. Together they’re great for the weekend, and I wear the powder over my foundation during the week to set it. I love them both, and with the deals you can get at Kohl’s, you can’t beat it!
I also have the Flirt! I’m Whipped Mousse Blush in “Fool for Love.” It’s fabulous, and looks much more dewy than a powder.

Hi Shimmer,
That’s awesome that you climb. I’ve always had a feeling I’d like it – I’m not afraid of heights, I have a good sense of balance, I’m pretty strong (both upper and lower body). Here’s the thing though: when I get nervous sometimes my hands get MAD SWEATY! I’m talking a pool of water, not just droplets. Am afraid that would impede on my hand grabbing abilities…
I am so on the sunscreen boat. Seriously, the best anti-ager out there. Do you put it on your neck? Please say yes!
Karen says
Hiya Megan,
I have tried a few things – a few eyeshadows and their Glamourazzi perfume. The line is pretty good and reminds me of a hipper, younger version of Revlon.
BTW, I am going to the mall after work for a much needed trip to the Lancome, Clinique and MAC counters. I’m gonna check out some Juicy Tubes, the Clinique nude blushes, and the new MAC blushes. I can’t wait, hooray!
Shimmer says
Neck. Lips. I need to start making sure the backs of my hands are covered though.
Actually to combat that slippery hand sweaty thing, we use a metric ton of chalk (ok, not THAT much, but I go through a pound of chalk in a month…) on our hands and…ha. Lots of prayer. I scraped the dickens out of my hand last night and pretty much removed any semblance of callous on that hand. *sigh*
I can’t wait until having a tan goes out of fashion.
Shimmer’s last blog post..Stila Cosmetics – I can’t say enough good about this company?
Karen says
OHHHH, Shimmer, good for you. Gotta put it on the back of your neck too (like when you wear ponytails) and your FEET! I read a story about how people neglect to put sunscreen on their feet and in between their toes. I am not so good about this, and I should be ’cause I wear flip flops every day during the summer lime.
For a while there everyone had that super-tanned, Jessica Simpson look! If I were to wish for anything to go away it would be high waisted pants. Seriously.
Geez… that’s a LOT OF CHALK! So random, but do you wear makeup when you climb?
Shimmer says
heh. Yeah, I do. Most of the time at least. Sometimes it’s a full application (because I had it on earlier that day) and sometimes it’s just a very natural tinted moisturizer and smudged liner and long lashes look. There are days I climb barefaced, too, but most of the time I have makeup on.
It doesn’t bother me, though I think it does bother some of the other girls at the gym (not that there are very many, it’s a male dominant environment).
I’m going to start using spray sunblock. I think it’ll just be easier to apply than the goopy stuff.

Spray sunblock is awesome. The only thing is you might end up going through bottles very quickly (I know I do when I use it). I used Aveeno’s all last summer and I liked it a lot.
Have you tried Shiseido 55 for face & body? The formula is very thin and not goopy at all. Plus, it’s waterproof!
It seems like lots of women wear at least a lil’ makeup when they work out, I’m finding. I lift at Gold’s and the handful of girls that lift there usually wear at least a lil’ makeup, too. I guess I’m not the only person who doesn’t wanna stare at dark circles while doing bicep curls..
Katherine says
Word to the wise on spray sunblock – RUB IT IN very, very well. I’m about as pale as you can get and I too decided this would be less messy. However, I wasn’t careful enough with my application and ended up looking like a candy cane!

Sunscreen is something I go through so fast, with 4 kids, so I kind of refuse to pay too much for it, I’ll admit.
I don’t know, there seems to be a line between the women who wear makeup and those who just staunchly do not do it.
Shimmer’s last blog post..Stila Cosmetics – I can’t say enough good about this company?

I hear ya. I only use the Shiseido for my neck (I’ve got a totally weird complex about my neck from all the years of not wearing sunscreen) because it’s not sticky. But I love love love drugstore stuff, cause like you I go through it fast. Neutrogena and Aveeno are my favorites.

Oooooh I likey. It reminds me of Coach’s Gardenia lip gloss – but cheaper! I didn’t like Flirt’s Super Shiny Lip Gloss at all… but I am willing to give them another chance. I have a Kohl’s by my house so I am going to go check it out. Thanks!
Megan says
That’s cool. I’ll have to make a trip to Kohls soon. There’s one that I can even go to on lunch while at work! 🙂 So Karen what are you getting, or are you just visiting your wish list at the mall? LOL so I get an annual bonus check tomorrow…it’s a pretty big bonus and although part is going to savings and part is going to vacations this year…I’m partly dying to hit the mall…but I must be strong and budget wisely so that I can save and not buy too much. I’m really trying to be as strong as possible… ANYWAY I am going to pick up the mac cream base in pearl from earlier this week. I didn’t get a chance to make it to the mall yet.
And yeah I had the same comment on the spray sunscreen. A couple of my friends have condos in ocean city, MD which is like 2.5 hours from DC…so we go over for long weekends a couple times throughout the summer. Usually these are girls only trips and very fun. So last summer I bought a bottle of spray sunscreeen for one of them and I kid you not we were going to the beach and two of my girls used the entire bottle before I even go to it. It made no sense at all. I mean why buy a whole bottle and it’s only two applications? I am really sensitive to sunscreens so I usually get neutrogena. I’m going to try the aveeno this summer too though.
Victoria says
That color does say summer tan- make mine a glass of zinfindel instead of the pina colada..Hey is it true – do u know that MAC owns Flirt and that it is there “off” brand? It seems like I read that somewhere but who knows I could have made that up on my own..or be confusing it with something else..

I’ll head over to your blog tonight to play! Yay!

Hi Ruth,
Oh cool! Yes, it’s like a more intense, darker version then Gardenia. Good luck, and lemme know if you like it!
Have a good rest of your weekend. 🙂
Karen says
Hi Megan,
LOL, I ended up visiting with my makeup crushes! I think I just like to test my will power!
Speaking of will power, keep saving for those vacations, girl. Where are you thinking of going?
I like Neutrogena brand SPF too, especially the dry formula. I know Aveeno has one, too, but if you’re sensitive to smell then be warned, the Aveeno one smells like lemons.
Karen says
Hi Victoria,
I think Flirt is owned by Estee Lauder, and EL owns MAC. That’s probably the connection.
My parents love white zin! I can’t drink it though…I’m more of a red wine kinda girl.
Hope you’re having a good weekend so far!
Karen says
Hi Gisele,
They’re gorgeous! I hope you’ll check ’em out!
