I’ve been seeing lip treatment oils talked about on different beauty blogs a lot lately, and I’ve been curious about them…but for whatever reason, I just hadn’t gotten around to giving them a try.
Until now.
I wanted to try these Lancome Juicy Shakers ($21) for a couple of reasons. First, they’re super, SUPER cute.
They’re seriously some of the cutest lip products I’ve ever seen.
Second, the bi-phase formula (the oil and pigment settle, so you shake these up to mix them together before using them).
After you give these a quick shake, there’s an adorable little cushion applicator that you use to apply the color.
So…I really, really think these are cute. So damned cute! And they’re just perfect for the summertime, because you can get that super glossy look on your lips, but because they also contain the oil, they’re actually moisturizing.
I feel like a lot of glosses, even though they’re shiny, are actually not moisturizing at all. But these are nice because they’re moisturizing AND glossy yet aren’t thick or sticky.
As you might guess, because of the oil, they do have a somewhat oily feel, but they’re not greasy or anything like that. They feel rather unlike other lip products I’ve tried.
The two colors I have here are Apri-Cute (a peach/apricot) and pinky Berry Tale.
On my lips, Apri-Cute is pretty sheer; you don’t see a ton of pigment, but there’s a time and a place for that. And Berry Tale is a really glossy, pretty pink lip color.
I think these are great for super low-key makeup days. When I’m just heading into work and don’t have much time to do a lot of makeup, I definitely reach for these Juicy Shakers, much as I reach for a lip balm, except that I choose these instead of a lip balm when I want more gloss.
There’s something about these Juicy Shakers that I just really adore. I mean, I have a TON of makeup, so it’s not that often that I come across a product that I think is especially unique.
That’s not to say that I don’t fall in love with a new product like every other day (haha), BUT I think these are just so cute and fun to put on. To me, having fun is a big reason why I like makeup — it’s one of the few opportunities in my day to just play around! Whenever I see a product that puts a fun twist on a basic, I gotta give it a thumbs up.
I will say, though, that they have a very fruity smell (just a heads up). They almost smell like children’s cough syrup or fruit snacks — you know, that artificially sweet fruity scent, which, because it does remind me of my childhood, and I’m always here for a bit of nostalgia, doesn’t bother me at all! But it is very noticeable, so I wanted to point that out to you guys.
In case you’re wondering, I’m wearing Glossier Perfecting Skin Tint in Deep (more details in this post) // MAC Soft Serve Shadow in So So Saucy (swatches and review in this post) // Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara // Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Poured in Champagne Pop // Becca Luminous Blush in Tigerlily.
The Lancome Juicy Shakers are available now at Sephora for $21.
I’d love to hear if you guys have tried these or other lip oils. I’m new to this whole lip oil thing, so I’d love to hear your thoughts!

I don’t like sheer and expensive lip products, but I have to get one of them just for the sake of he packaging.
Adia says
I hear you! The packaging makes them hard to resist, though.

Ohhh..no no! I’ve been stopping myself from purchasing these by thinking that they won’t show up on my nc42 complexion and pigmented lips..
Now that i’ve seen ur pics, i’m super tempted to buy these adorable juicy shakers!
Adia says
LOL, glad this was helpful! I totally get your hesitation. There’s not a ton of color, but they will show up. I bet if they have a red color that’ll look good too.

I’ve really wanted to try these but haven’t due to my lip pigmentation being so dark! I like that they have oil in them. I need moisture!
Adia says
Yeah there’s not a ton of color, but I’m thankful for the oil!

Thank you!

They look gorgeous on you! I really like how Becca blush looks with them. I would definately suggest you to try lip oils from YSL(dont remember full fancy name), they are very moisturizing with an amazing texture, but similar in pigmentation.
Have a nice day!

Thank you! Just wait for my swatches of the Becca blushes coming up…they are so pretty!! I heard the YSL ones are really good. After trying these Lancome ones, I want to try more from other brands because they feel so good on the lips. Hope you have a good weekend!

I really want to try the juicy shakers by Lancôme, they’re so cute and has some awesome colors. However I couldn’t try it because I found out from a friend that they have almond oil in them and I have a severe allergic reaction to nuts. Sad moment when I now have to read labels for nuts in beauty products. Hoping there are some awesome alternatives out there now or in the new future.
Adia says
Oh no! But thank goodness your friend warned you. Jeez, that would have been awful had you tried them. I hope there are some good ones without almond oil that you can try!
