The long-running Unsung Heroes series here on Makeup and Beauty Blog features some of our all-time favorite permanent collection products.
If you think about, if you were to be literally touched by the sun — as in, within the corona of a hot ball of glowing gas — that would probably not be very good.
However, being touched by Kjær Weis Sun Touched Cream Blush, on the other hand, is another story.
For a healthy glow
This has been my favorite blush since I discovered it last December. I didn’t get a lot of sun this winter, but this blush helped me pretend like I did.
This particular coral color works really well with light and medium skin that has golden or olive undertones, and the finish looks completely natural. It isn’t too shiny or matte, so your skin still looks like skin.
100% luxe
I’m really starting to love Kjær Weis. I highlighted the brand a few months ago, and since then I became a full-on Kjær Weis stalker. Let’s just say that I would not be hating life if I had an entire steamer trunk filled with their makeup!
They’re a pricey green beauty brand by makeup artist Kirsten Kjær Weis, with high-performance department store-caliber products. Sun Touched costs — wait for it — $56 for a 0.123-oz. pan, but the compact is refillable, and the refills cost $32, so they’re a little less.
In fact, you could just get one of the refill pans and keep it in your own palette.
The compact looks like jewelry but feels like a ninja weapon. It’s hefty, so it could come in handy in a fight-or-flight situation.

It gives everything its got! I only need to use a little because of how pigmented it is, and I can be blushed and ready to rock and roll in less than 30 seconds. I don’t have to build up layer upon layer… A few quick sweeps is all it takes to erase the edges.
Sun Touched on bare skin looks fab, but it can also handle other choose-your-own adventure makeup situations. It just layers so well under and on top of all kinds of face products. I’ve worn it on top of sheer tinted moisturizer, full-coverage liquid foundation and setting powder, and underneath powder blushes and cream highlighters, too. Seriously, it can handle any combination you throw at it. It always feathers out like a dream and lasts all day long without patchiness.
I put it in my “set it and forget it” category, because I can apply it in the morning, and I don’t have to touch it up throughout the day. I can still see it when I wash my face at night, which pleases the lady very much. 🙂 Because it’s an expensive blush! It should last all day long, and it does.
It’s life-changing! I hope you try it. You can find it now at Credo Beauty, Barney’s and kjaerweis.com.

A high end blush with high end performance, and such a pretty color! Corals are what I reach for a lot at the moment as well, to look a little more awake and radiant. The compact is pretty as well, but assuming that the Zombie Apocalypse is not upon us any time soon (knock on wood) I would probably stick to the refill.

I’m really feeling cream blushes right now, my current love is the Glossier cloud paint in dusk and puff!

Oh, I’ve heard good things about that blush! How well does it layer?

Your whole look is lovely here, but it is your eyes that caught my attention, Karen. Please let us know what you used for this look.
Karen says
Thank you, Diane! I used a bunch of things: MAC Soba Eye Shadow (crease), Victoria Beckham X Estee Lauder Eye Metal in Bitter Clove (applied wet on the lid) and Eye Foil in Blonde Gold (center of lid), Chanel Stylo Yeux in Noir Petrole (lash and water lines) and NARS Audacious Mascara. I think I also used a little bit of Modern Mercury Highlighter (also from the Victoria Beckham collection) in the inner corners.
Let me know if you have any other questions about the eyes! Happy to help. 🙂

I gasped at the price! But this looks so lovely. I like wearing cream blushes on top of primer and under sheer-medium foundations because I have a problem with them being too pigmented and lifting when I try to blend. This looks like it might be a perfect product for that! I’m very, very fair olive and this kind of reminds me of what I wanted NARS Orgasm to look like on me, only without the sparkles (and less patchy). If only I can get myself to pull the trigger…

Hi Katie,
Do you have space in an empty palette? If you do, you can save a little $ by purchasing the refill. Also, another shade that might work for you is Desired Glow:

Sometimes Credo Beauty does F&F promotions, and you can buy Kjaer Weis on sale. I’m going to wait for one of those to do some splurging!
Katie says
That’s a good idea, actually! I have a random empty Z Palette I don’t know what to do with. I’ll definitely try to wait for one of those sales, so thanks for the heads-up! These are really gorgeous blushes.

Oh this is also very pretty! I have another shade Joyful from Kjaer Weis. It’s also very pretty but more for tanned skin. Gotta try this next when I ran out of Joyful (gotta limit myself to one with this price point ?)

This is so gorgeous. I love cream blushes, but don’t have any I really love right now, so this is tempting!
Lil Kim “Crush on You” came on the radio the other day and I definitely thought of you while rocking out in my car.
Karen says
On the Kjaer Weis site they have really good descriptions of the their blushes and what skin tones they’d be best for. I bet you could easily find one to love!
And haha… you know I love me some naughty Lil Kim. 🙂 Let me guess, you were listening to a throwback station!
Erin says
It’s quite a good color on you. I wish we had a counter close to me 🙁
Jill says
Hi ! I really love the look on your profile picture and I found your post here !!! Please let me know the foundation routine in this look, looks very natural and flawless. Also, do you have a cheaper dupe for this colour ? Thank you !
Karen says
Hi Jill,
I think I used the Hourglass Vanish stick for this pic and then set it with MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural powder. For a dupe, maybe try Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge in Fresh Melon?
