If you’ve read some of my posts, then you probably know that I LIVE for a good highlight. I am all about that glow! — whether it’s super intense or a bit more subtle.
I’ve been looking forward to trying these two strobe/highlight palettes from PUR Cosmetics since the very first time I heard about them. I’ve been a fan of the brand since I discovered their Hydrafluid Water Serum Foundation.
First up is the Moonlight Glow Strobe Palette, which is the lighter, cooler-toned of the two. From left to right, the colors are Twilight, Lunar and Eclipse.
Twilight is a light, sparkling white gold; Lunar is a cool-toned shimmering baby pink; and Eclipse is a warm-toned true gold. I think all of the colors in this palette are very pretty and subtle enough to be used on a range of skin tones.
I used a heavy hand to apply these swatches, but I think all three colors are softer and more wearable on the face.
Oh! Twilight is so pretty as a brow bone and inner corner highlighter…
The second palette is the Sun-Kissed Glow Strobe Palette, which is darker and warmer-toned than Moonlight Glow, and from left to right, the colors are Aurora, Solar and Dusk.
I think these colors are stunning! Aurora is a light yellow gold, Solar is a peachy gold, and Dusk is a rich bronze gold, and I am definitely more drawn to this palette than I am to Moonlight Glow.
Again, these are heavy-handed swatches so, on the face, these only have to be dabbed on for a gorgeous glow. Seriously, I think it’s hard to overdo these because the formula and colors are very forgiving and smooth.
About the formula, even though I’ve tried lots of different cream highlighters, this is one seems quite unique. It has a cream-to-powder finish that I think many people will love. If you get nervous about cream highlighters because you have oily skin, or you’re concerned about staying power, definitely check these out! They’re creamy enough to easily blend into the skin, but they do dry to a soft powder finish…which also means that they don’t continue feeling “wet” on the skin, so I think these will be a great option for people with oily/combination skin.
For this makeup look, I applied Dusk from the Sun-Kissed Glow Strobe Palette all over my cheeks before applying the PUR Hydrafluid Water Serum Foundation on my face. Then I applied Jouer Peach Blossom blush lightly along my cheeks and did a little contouring with the Colourpop Sculpting Stick in New Renaissance.
Next, I applied Solar from the Sun-Kissed Glow Strobe Palette over top for more glow and used Twilight from the Moonlight Glow Strobe Palette to highlight my brow bone and inner corners of my eyes. My eyeshadow is Sunset Blvd, also from Colourpop Cosmetics, and my lipstick is 1993 by Urban Decay.
I think these palettes are PERFECT for that “lit from within” glow. Both are very versatile, but I feel like Moonlight Glow might be better for lighter skin tones, and Sun-Kissed Glow better for darker skin tones.
They’re available now for $34 each from PUR Minerals.
So, what are your go-to cream highlighters? I’d love to hear what you think!

Yeah, I love these! And I think they’ll last for a while because you only use a tiny bit.

Your skin takes highlights and sheen SO well! On my it just ends up looking greasy. With big-asspores screaming at you from every angle.
adia says
Aw thank you!! I bet you could rock highlighter 🙂

Strobing is a trend I never got on board with. I just don’t like the way it looks on me. Your skin though looks amazing!
adia says
Aw thank you Linda!

I came across these a couple weeks ago and couldn’t decide which one I liked more, so I got both! I have oily skin and these are so beautiful and last well. I’m really happy to see PUR stepping up their game. I also picked up one of the cheek stains and one of the cream/liquid eye shadows which are AMAZING!!!
adia says
Ha! You sound like me Carolyn! The cream eyeshadows sound amazing! I’ve been wanting to try them for the longest. What colors did you get?
Erin says
I like them both! You look soo good in highlighters, I’m a bit jelly!
adia says
Aw thank you Erin!

Looks pretty on you! I’m going to Ulta today so I’ll check these out. My favorite cream highlighter is Nars Gold Member not sure if it’s still available but I have a backup. Nars marketed this as a blush but it’s a highlighter. It’s a bright warm gold that goes on smooth with a nice gleam. And close favorite is Vincent Longo’s Gold Solare Hydro stick a warm rose gold that feels cool when you first apply it and last all day. I have a large variety of highlighters most of them are powder. But I love these two creams!
adia says
Thanks, Denise! You have some good recommendations! The Vincent Longo one sounds so pretty! Love rose gold 🙂

And the glow looks so good on you! Great way to wake up the face. Loving the hair, too.
adia says
Aw thanks Chris! BTW, I’m working on a hair post -)

They look really pretty and workable. I tried the PUR contour/highlight sticks and didn’t care for them, but I would try this.
adia says
You know I never have luck with contour/highlight sticks because one of the colors is ALWAYS off :-/ But I think these are great for a nice glow because you really can’t overdo it!
